Peace to Fredro and Sticky for sharing their story, I remember the late 80’s and early 90’s in NYC. 22:10 one of the earliest displays of a gun in a Hip Hop video: Eric B & Rakim’s Follow The leader. Remember Ra and his crew were carrying Tommy Guns like the mob?
They definitely don't get mentioned in the conversations enough. Onyx was so instrumental in that early to mid 90s NY wave, along with the likes of Wu, Nas, Mobb, etc.
Wow that's full circle bc they said they wanted to be like the hip hip nirvana, but Nirvana was influenced by the band Bam Bam fronted by Tina Bell , who created the first grunge band from Seattle
Onyx second album (All We Got Is Us) doesn't get enough credit but it could be even better than Bacdafucup! The real niggas who brought the east coast back Onyx & Wu Tang Clan.
EPMD was the first group with guns in their video. "The Big Payback", E & P are at the gun range letting off rounds. NWA make an appearance in the video as well...
I'm prolly just ignorant but i'm just now learning that Sticky Fingaz was in Onyx...and I fuck with Sticky's first album. Now I gotta peep some of that Onyx beyond the classics
I am watching, felt as one of us, relisted I was white. Then I thought "wait, didn't I live in The Jungles for a year and a half, was I not living in Project Blowed while we build the stage and sound rooms, in fact didn't I live in West Adams for another two clicks, shit I was above the Jayhalk bar in that abandoned up stairs apartment building ALONE when helping Stacc and Meca build out the playhouse. Did that just so the kids could go there in the summer and not the park. Leimert park showed me nothing but love, I walked home from the Blowed a few times drunk or my car was home already etc. Still no problem, yes every tenth car would roll me, look, say something about me being white. Every time I said thanks for stopping and ask to get in. Got two rides no ass whipin. My worst shit in life has been thrust up on me by my own, probably like all of you. As in if you see this you. We all do, I looked for refuge in the Hood for lack of a better word, from being called a Wigger ALWAYS fhuk I don't even use slang or act not myself. My boy Stacc would always say True they like you because of you're name. I said dude didn't know my name at the time? No no True not that you are called True, that you are. You see the white boys on Wednesdays, they see them too, they see you still in the back running wires and selling CDs in the store. They are that you are actually True, to yourself and you're people. Never did forget that. Means something to me. Breaks my heart to think maybe?????? I can't go home. wtf Paul. My name. Stay Up, TR

Fire episode with Onyx Jazmine And Talib. By the way Talib that Gotham album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love the Donnell Rawlings pop up lol. Salute to Donnell Rawlings.. Peace!
Hey yo. I gotta bald head, in the winter time, from the vibe of Onyx.
Talib talks so much he over talks a decent question and ends with a cloudy generic question. Onyx is legendary. The energy of a generation.
They definitely don't get mentioned in the conversations enough. Onyx was so instrumental in that early to mid 90s NY wave, along with the likes of Wu, Nas, Mobb, etc.
I always have, and always will love onyx.
Those niggaz' Rhyme extremely good.
Meaning that all of thier words actually Rhyme.
Wow that's full circle bc they said they wanted to be like the hip hip nirvana, but Nirvana was influenced by the band Bam Bam fronted by Tina Bell , who created the first grunge band from Seattle
I see music in color especially when I listen to Bilal I see shapes and colors
Ask Fredro what the PHUUUCK happened to Tales from the Industry!!!😂😂😂
That Mike Tyson story was clllllasic
Movie gonna be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
Onyx second album (All We Got Is Us) doesn't get enough credit but it could be even better than Bacdafucup! The real niggas who brought the east coast back Onyx & Wu Tang Clan.
All We Got Iz Us is easily my favorite album of all time. There's not a bad song on the album.
Tupac's favorite song was "Walk In New York"...
EPMD was the first group with guns in their video. "The Big Payback", E & P are at the gun range letting off rounds. NWA make an appearance in the video as well...
kweli, fredro is right.. actually, he's wrong - you are GREAT at your job!
we're looking forward to the sonny seeza interview.
sticky is a man of few words but he makes them all count 😤
I'm prolly just ignorant but i'm just now learning that Sticky Fingaz was in Onyx...and I fuck with Sticky's first album. Now I gotta peep some of that Onyx beyond the classics
Dope episode straight up

FREDRO is 50 YEARS OLD
I am watching, felt as one of us, relisted I was white. I can't go home. wtf Paul. My name.
Stay Up,
TR
Man all Donnell Rawlings does is ruin other people’s interviews
