This man has more determination than most people will ever have in their entire lifetime.I congratulate him for finishing a marathon in such a good time.
At least he completed the race, my SALUTE to him.
He got DQed for crawling
Suraj Tomar nah if you're not up to it don't do it. No reason to risk permanent damage just for that.
that too with a great time. People don’t comprehend how good of a time is under 4hrs for a marathon.
He definitely looked pale and dehydrated at the end...the way his legs just gave out was scary..
This guy is a CHAMP it doesn't matter how fit you are, just how hard you push, the will power this guy had to finish must have been incredible. Crawling across the finish line is probably the most BA way I could think of to cross it, it shows he gave absolutely everything he had.
He’s shit I could do better
3:29 is still a damn respectable time!
Absolutely. Here I can't finish 10K in 1 hour and I am 27.
Mohnish Banchhor
I know how you feel, I've been running for about 2 months now training for a half marathon and only just got my 5K down to 28 mins :) 10k is still about 1 hour.
Bob Bobby Keep on going man! My fastest 5k at the moment is about 24 mins. (Havent ran an official race in a while), and my last 10k was near the beginning of my career, around 1 hour also. The longer you go, the faster you get :P Ive been running for around 5 months now.
fanofmusic98 Seriously people who don't run have no idea. That's actually a fast time.
Patrick Smith Oh big time! Trust me, I've been training ever since June for track and cross country--I know the work it takes to get there. 28 minutes is pretty good--my first official 5k time was a 28 minute time :)
I bet the crawling guy carried the two children all the race and 200m before finish he gave them back to the father. Thats why he had to crawl in the end.
DieTher Moskanne z
OMG 😂😂lol
hahahahahahahah
😂
looool
That's how I came out of the bar once!
Greg Simonson And how some end up with some crazy bitches lol
Greg Simonson what were you drinking to end up in that state 😂😂
Greg Simonson OMFG!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂
You were drinking salt water and got dehydrated?
I FUCKING LOVE DETERMINATION. I feel his pain :D
viktor peters trust me. you dont feel his pain at all
That's what determination looks like. What a champ!
The runner with muscle fatigue still finished faster than I have in the majority of my marathon completions. I have also experience severe cramps and nearly went down, and went down, just not that close to the finish and in a big city event. In my view a lot has to do with the mental barrier-he had probably been experiencing cramps for the last few KM, but once he knew the finish line goal was in reach, his mind sent a message to his body to shut down, just slightly early.
@@thedeaner3117 nah fat exists
1:52 Hahaha she got mad when he pushed her away lmao
haha
Because she's dumb. He obviously needed urgent attention & the guy was stronger to lift him to the ambulance but her ego was bruised so she assaulted the guy
I did my 1st marathon and came in last with the timing of 9 hrs 45 mins
That's not a race. HOW many times u stopped at the coffee shops and restrooms in between the race?
Mihretab Ayenew lol
wtf ? lol
Mihretab Ayenew lady, no one knows what you just said.
Marcus L when I was 12 I walked 30miles in a similar time.
thats how bad he fucking wanted to finish, "no legs ? fuck it, that wont stop me"
Even when his legs was giving way, he put everything he had into the final 20 meters and you can clearly see he had nothing left before he crossed the finish line but carried on with what he had left in his heart. Full credit to the guy and a very well done!!
To anyone laughing at and insulting this guy, I hope you enjoyed it! Now you go out and do it!
3-time Ironman finisher here, I've been in that unfortunate situation of shutting down out on the end of the run leg and it is not fun. What this video doesn't show is that he probably was going through complete hell for at least a few miles prior to the finish. Much credit to this gentleman for pushing through and finishing.
This man has my deepest respect. Finnishing a marathon is a great goal to accomplish, weather you have to crawl, walk or run.
Good job!
He started crawling because he couldn't give up no matter what
That made me cry... emotion was raw...that was human determination at it's finest. If he has run again, he has certainly improved. Rock on brotha.
he finished in 3 and a half hours, that's amazing already!!
Do you know what's better than finishing a marathon? Not having to run a marathon.
+marc80s How do you know that someone is in training to run a marathon? ..... Don't worry, they'll tell you ten thousand times....
yeah also pretty pointless unless you r running after your dinner or a 100k reward.
you guys obviously never ran or experienced the joy of running
I haven't experienced the joy of base jumping either. I'll take a pass on both.
As a matter of fact...
glycogen depletion and dehydration, we meet again.
Crawl if you have too.
He got DQed for that
Fuck you
walk if you have to, crawl if you must, but never give up!!! That's how winners do it!!
That takes a lot of balls to keep going when your body is freaking shutting down.
Cheers.
The guy who ran till he literally fell over has balls of steel. For whatever reason he ran out of gas and hus body shut down, everything in him was probably screaming QUIT a long time before. He literally kept going and then dragged his own unwilling bones over the finish line. That is courage :D
Disqualified, claiming the father assaulted the blonde female who ran to his son's aid after he crossed the finish line.
Patrick butler What are you on about? He'd already finished the race by himself when she got to him and no one was assaulted.
Lolaxas Or did they, really? I can't believe it. Christ.
+Patrick butler He collapsed and being near unconscious they accuse him of an assault. That's just insane. What's wrong with people?? Hope he sues the bastards. No way can he lose.
1. The blond girl is aggressively pushed aside by the grey-haired man (apparently the runner's father), despite her efforts to help the runner up after crossing the line.
2. In response, she pushes the old man back, understandably angered at the way he pushed her aside as if to say 'Get out the way, you don't know what you're doing!'
All over in moments!
He has a lot of heart finishing that race.. if your gonna run a marathon that's how you have to go out
this made me crack the fuck up! the way he was running before he fell was too funny hhaha
3:29 damn!
Jonny Anderson troll :P
*2:52 was better
I did my first 10k race in 59 min... slow... I wish someday i can do a marathon.
Hey, it was under an hour!
Great place to start!
I do in 55:26
i did it in 56.00
Anita Bosse ??? people run half marathons in an hour and 4 minutes...
franklin alexander Colmenarez ??? people run half marathons in an hour and 4 minutes...
Legitimately curious as to what kind of wraps/aids/supports those were on his quads/knees? Never seen them before. So much respect man! Incredible finish!
I don't know how rate that guy. His effort is impressive, but that is absolutely danger for his life, knees, muscles.
He gave everything from his body. He is adult. He is permitted to do it. He is a hero!
Even on knees - the last look at the watch - "Yes less than 3:30 - mission accomplished" Cheers for all marathon runners !!!!
The organizers disqualified him, claiming his father (blue shirt and denim jeans) "assaulted" the blonde woman standing over him after crossing the finish line. Sad really.
You're kidding right? Please tell me you are...
Li Docaine sadly, I am not kidding
Danny Bailey This is feminism.
+Danny Bailey BUHAHAHAAA WTF????? That bitch deserves to be REALLY "assaulted"
TheJokr17 nobody deserves to be assaulted, not even "false accusers ". They either need help or a proper sentence or whatever. Feminists can be a pain in the butt and make themselves or real victims rather ridiculous, but I would never respond that she REALLY needs to be assaulted. This is actually coming from someone who knows what real assault is. I'm pissed about her use of the term and everything associated with it but I can't wish for her to experience it first hand. I refuse to become a (passive) agressor myself, like the dickhead I encountered. This woman would better speak to real victims in order to learn what she's doing by claiming assault and then get help. She seems to have some serious issues with getting what she wants. Rather manipulative. Just use the A word and nobody dares to not taken action. Sad and sick really.
Still no reason to wish an actual assault on her.
if you aint collapsin like this guy you are definitely not working hard enough ! heads up to this man!
I had something similar once.
I hadn't eaten for a few days and had to do a twenty mile bike ride to get to and from a hospital appointment.
I was so close to home but I kept almost passing out and had to stop to give my body more time to make me some energy.
Was quite proud of myself they day. I knew that must have been a lot of fat lost. Can't remember whether I ate that day either.
I miss that days when I had control.
I used to do my fair share of marathons, now I just do snickers.
+YouRideAHorseRatherLessWellThanAnotherHorseWould *high five*
I cant believe that guy carried those two kids all that way. What skill and determination...............
he didn't...most likely scenario the mother gave them to the father near the finish line...you can´t run a 3:29 marathon with two kids on your arms :)
Which country are you from?
Mark Eyre you stupid kid ? there is no way he could run a marathon holding two kids ....
Running with your kids would be ridiculous, stupid , funny and sad all at once. That's not part of the marathon. I find it annoying when people cross the finish line doing a cart wheel, push ups or carrying kids. Next time, he should just go food shopping along the way and carry his groceries across the finish line.
Mark Eyre lol
Finishing a full marathon in 3 hours and 30 minutes is one hell of a challenge so for someone to collapse is understandable. My first full marathon was finished in 4 hours and 30 minutes and I could barely stand when I hit the finish line, its difficult but still worth the pain. The first half of a full marathon is fine but that last 4-1 mile is a really challenge.
50% of the comments talking about how he's walking like hes drunk or something, but what a man for his body to be in complete pain and for him not be able to walk, to still be determined to get across the finish line, just to say to himself he done a marathon, more people should aspire to be like this man, I salute him!
This guys time didn't count, so this video is incorrect.
The woman coming to his aid claimed his father assaulted her, and Jonathan was then Disqualified from this race.
So his time is unimportant because he was taken off the list of finishers.
He passed the finish line though
Jonathan Bright I don't get that. The guy got DQd because his father who wasn't even in the marathon did something? That seems pretty shitty
MrTheDevious Nevermind I googled it and watched the ending again. It's 100x shittier than I thought. I can't believe they disqualified that guy just because his dad was panicking and lightly touched the woman on the arm while trying to help his son.
Jonathan Bright Sounds like the dad says "back of the queue lady, get your hands off my son" ? @1:51
Jonathan Bright This is feminism.
If the marathon is a "running" race, is it legitimate to do any bit of it crawling?
You can walk and probably crawl as well in a marathon. But nobody wants to do it obviously because you want to beat your time record :-)
The marathon isn't a "running" race (I know it's called a "running event"), it's just that it's fastest to run. It's really more of traversing 26.2 miles using your body in the fastest way you can, and in this case crawling was.
what if i equipped a pair of wheels under my ass?
that man who brave all body's signal to shut down & forced himself to crawl thru the finishing line is as great as those elite runners who finished first place. btw...3hrs 29m is usually for above average runners...cos usually average runners run around 4hrs to 5hrs. My salute to him who finished the race in such a great determination.
Guess what. I was in a high school sports day once. Was doin good, and i thought the guy next to me was a motivator (dont laugh) but i slowed down thinking i was 1st, then i got second cos the "motivator" was a runner. DAMN!
Although I get why it happens, it is a bit odd that the person crossing the finish line on their knees gets more praise than the person who finished standing up right next to them. Maybe the guy didn't train hard enough. Sometimes we celebrate weakness in ways that are twisted.
Its more about the determination and grit to continue to race even under what must have been horrible pain. The guy who finished normally did well sure, but he didn't need to push through in quite the same way.
Matthew Power Thats not true at all, not trying to be a jurk, but the guy that collapsed deserved that and he is lucky he didn't get actually injured for not training right.
Drake Leslie Nope. Even experienced ultra runners who spend years preparing have "bad races", with no explanation why. People applaud the guys who struggle the most because they have pushed through incredible pain to finish, where so many would have given up and stopped. Most runners don't do it for the praise, but when a runner is struggling, that praise can be what gets them through.
Everyone is different though...
Even the guy ahead of him was applauding his efforts, because you naturally (if unselfish) would try to help the weaker ones. Those who finish strong have praise enough in themselves and their friends, no need to go equally mad for every finisher. In other words, if we should only praise the standing guy, then what about the countless runners who finished ahead of him? Surely they all deserve more praise, then again why praise anyone behind winner? Because the guy with the standing finish was like every other athlete before him, however the one who crawled required such immense praise at the finish to give him the extra motivation to make it past that final line.
0:55 running with 2 children in her arms? That is safe. (not)
while completing the race may not have been his best decision health wise in the short run, I give this man serious respect for his fucking passion to complete it.
The Greek messenger who ran the 26 miles after the battle of Marathon fucking died when he finished, so someone's body shutting down as he crosses the finish line wouldn't be too unheard of
The sequal to this video clip where the athlete is disqualified is found here:
th-cam.com/video/-yAXuTIx_HI/w-d-xo.html
The disqualification was Ridiculous.
JonathanRaymond1984 only in fucking Australia
It is never a question of why but a demonstration of will.
I run ultra-marathons and videos like this still inspire me! Dude gave it all he could - props!
Exactly !! He carried his two kids in his arms for 26 miles !!! And the children I heard were saying at the 10 mile mark "Daddy, I want some ice cream !! " Then at the 15 mile mark, they said " Daddy, I'm tired , put me down" Then at the 20 mile mark they were poking Daddy in the EYES during the race, and said "We Want Ice Cream NOW !!! But the father trained for over a year carrying his kids in his arms, So it was very EASY to run 26 miles with them
Never ran a marathon, only half. But during my days of high school XC and college there was a few times where I felt perfectly fine but then immediately after my foot hit that finish line I would throw up. Almost like your body knows what it has to do and keeps going, only to release everything (and in this man's case, give out) when you know it's over. Amazing man.
Its low blood pressure. Because of your heart rate blood vessels expand and while your muscles are contracting during the run you're fine , once you stop running your veins stay expanded but your heart rate drops down and since muscles are not squeezing anymore tightening your blood vessels they stay expanded and the blood pressure suddenly drops making your brain deprived of oxygen cause the blood is not reaching it. The medical term ts called "Vasovagal Syncope" and its freakin scary when it happens lol
Much respect for getting to the finish line. It takes gutts. People may laugh but they have no idea how much a marathon takes out of you. As a Kenyan believe me I know.
0:55 Hero of the World. Deserves more than a medal for carring children on a Marathon
LOL, when they showed the woman carrying the two kids, the boy was holding on for dear life.
HAHAHAHA!!! LOOK AT THAT GUY CRAWLIN' TO HIS MOMMY! HE NEEDS TO BE TOUGHER MINDED!!!
Jonathan is a tough cookie, well done!
Hil legs may have given out, but he never stopped going forward. A true competitor!
Anyone who runs a marathon needs the highest degree of respect. ive ran 3 and they are not easy but hella FUN
Damn, I applaud the 2:26 entry!! That guy was beast \m/
Absolutely! At the end of the day, that's what endurance sports are all about...pushing yourself further than you thought possible, then pushing some more! What a fucking Spartan!
one can even die sitting by the beach side sipping a mocktail or a cocktail and enjoying the beautiful sunset !!
guy carrying his kids finished that race like a boss and he knows it.
The flesh was weak but the mind just didn’t care 😐👏
I think if it was me, I'd need 2 days to complete this race. :)
im into running also ..and i admired this guy for finishing the marathon ..
People dislike this???? This guy has guts! Look at that!
Wow....just....wow.
Sometimes it's hard to quieten the voice inside that tells you to quit, to give up now, even though the finish line is in sight. You begin to doubt yourself, your feet seem to be made of concrete, and lifting one off the ground after another is an achievement in itself. You can't remember how to breathe properly, your legs, your feet, your vision, your mind all start to go. ...but .. "Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever"
Well done sir-you did yourself proud. Very proud
I don't remember finishing the Baltimore Marathon. I kind of just woke up at the medical tent with the medal on me, surrounded by doctors. There's photos that I finished, though. So that's that... I think I'll do it again.
thats true motivation, takes heart to finish the marathon
His body didn't "shut down", his knees became dislocated.
@ 1:52, that dude in the blue jeans is the hero, picking the guys legs up after he obviously can't walk anymore
That dude was amazing. Great finishing time and didn't collapse until he was right up on the finish line so that he was able to crawl across. Awesome!
He may not have been first, but to me he's the real winner. It also makes me happy to see people in pain from running, so I say thumbs up.
Same thing happened about 30 years ago when a woman collapsed near the finish of the Ironman...That was so heartbreaking to watch !
The key distinction here is "run" vs "raced". For a half decent runner, covering 26.2 miles of ground might make you tired, but it's not that big of a deal.
Racing a marathon as close to peak potential is a whole different ball game. That often beats up good runners so much it's several weeks or more before they even resume training.
This is what a Thalidomide baby looks like running a marathon....
you can say what you want but that man has heart, will, and mind of a champion!
i got tons of RESPECT for you man!
I wouldn't mind collapsing across a finish line with a BQ 3:29. My PR is 5:17:21. And I do pray Jonathan recovered pretty fully and quickly.
Watching this makes me humble and greatfull i had nowhere near such issues in my debut at this distance yesterday. My time was only 4:18h but it was a super hilly course and i never ran so far before , also finished quite strong so im happy :D
The amount of willpower that guy must have to run his body to the literal breaking point...
Hey, the dude did a marathon in under 3 and a half hours. HUGE props.
Dude, my mans a champ. At least he finished
Congratulations to anyone who simply finishes a marathon, never mind the time. It is a great accomplishment.
Anybody who will absolutely refuse to quit like that can literally achieve anything in life.
That was incredible.
I saw it and it made me cry. i havent been in race or a marathon but i have done a twice 10 km trecking is the word is right up on the mount Olympus and one time i went all the way to the top. at the first km i wanted to quit and i was just kept going and in the last km i speed up my pace. When i reached to the top i was really happy that i didnt quit.
Everything i have done is nothing compared to what i saw.
RESPECT TO ALL OF THEM...........
The way he walked was morbid. I'm haunted now.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
He walks like he's shitting his pants.
he must have a goal to be under 3.30 great determination to obtain that acheivement.
let's not forget, the event the marathon is named for...THE FUCKING GUY DIED AFTER HE RAN THAT.
its beautiful to see someone push themselves to that limit
I respect this man
hes not a quitter
💯
All I could think of was through all that pain and suffer he still kept moving. My hats off to him.
wow. there was just too much positive energy for him to give up. idk bout yall but i think people watching is one of the main reasons ur so determined to finish. that guy had no strength left but was able to finish because the crowd all wanted him to make it.
That is determination right there. Sometimes I don't even have the motivation to masturbate, I could learn a lot from this guy.
What is the point in running yourself into an early grave? Why? What the hell is the point? Take up cycling or swimming and stop pounding your knee joints. Running is bad for you! It’s very high impact
Love the mans guts and dont quit attitude. Inspiring to say the least.
So awesome. I literally teared up. I don't even know this man. But I know the determination. Awesome.
