      Hope it was useful, also consider watching my AF-L back button focusing video about the X-pro1, the same settings and concepts apply to the X-E1.
      Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment as well! I appreciate it! ✨🙌🏼

    Hi Jorge, you deserve many more subscribers your content is top notch!
    I wonder if you can create a video explaining how to use the histogram and how to correctly expose a photo without using the camera's automatic exposure.
    I know that you have created a previous video with the exposure triangle but some examples with real photos and their histogram would be awesome.

      Very nice! How's the 27mm treating you? would like to pick one of those up in the future, especially the mark II because of the aperture ring.

      I'm glad it was helpful! peaking is a little underwhelming with the X-E1 but still usable. I'm thinking about what other cameras I will be reviewing in the future. I think perhaps will continue with the X-E2/X-PRO2, but also consider some other options as well.
      Thanks for watching, I hope it was useful. And I appreciate the kind comment, friend. Cheers 😁🙌🏼

    I shoot JPEG only with my X-E1 and I pair it with the 35mm F1.4 and the 16mm F2.8. There is something to be said about knowing that the photos will come out great with this sensor and not have to worry about editing.

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! this is one of the main reasons why I shoot with these cameras, trying to get everything in-camera not only tests my skills, but also reduces the friction of having to sit down and edit photos, and overprocess my files!
      How's the 35mm f1.4 treating you? wondering if you see any significant speed reduction or if it's just fine.
      Thanks for watching friend! I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts as well! Cheers 🙌🏼✨

    I’m enjoying very much your vids, Jorge.I have a baffling situation, just bought a used x-e1 w the 18-55 kit lens for a bargain, and when I checked the firmware I was surprised to find version 3.40 on the camera, when the last one was 2.71 on X website…any insights? Lens version is up to date (3.24)…I think I’m better off not doing any updates…don’t want to kill it

    I shoot raw + jpeg because just like when I shoot film, I always want to store the negative (film) and digital negative (raw file) for when I want to make another print / reproduction of the negative / raw. I have every film negative, slide I ever shot going back to 1989 and every raw file going back to 2003 when I bought my first DSLR (Pentax *istD which I still have and works). And yes, I still get out and search through my old slides and raw files from time to time.

  • @matthieuzglurg6015

    I don't generally shoot JPEG only, I only do that with my X100 camera as I have setup this one kinda like a film camera replacement (No back LCD, I do not check my pictures right away, and I only shoot though the OVF (with somtimes a bit of help from the EVF to get some help focusing)
    But generally, when I'm using my X-T2, I have RAW files on one SD card, and JPEGs on another one. So I still keep that intentionality while shooting, by selecting my film sim or custom recipe, and I have a RAW backup because haven't been a photographer for 10+ years, I can mess up things, not choosing the right setting in a particular situation so I always have the nice backup file if I ever need it
    I also gotta say that the ability to rename custom settings on newer cameras (X-Trans III and newer) to avoid confusion if you happen to have a lot of presets

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! Dual SD cards are something I really want with every camera going forward. I don't use the raw files, but it's great to be able to separate with by SD cards and just store them somewhere else just in case.
      I do have to say that I've been getting lots of pleasant results with my JPEG approach only, but I know that is not for everyone.
      And man, now I'm knee-deep with the X-pro2, loving it so far, really similar to what I had with my X100F in Japan, so far so good! 😁✨

    On the custom saved settings. It will not allow you to customize red and blue +/-. So you can save everything else, except colors in wb.

    Hi Jorge! Love your vids, can you please make a review for the Fujifilm x-t1? it's an old, but pretty Great camera, and relatively affordable nowadays, i'd like to know your thoughts about it

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll think about reviewing regular viewfinder cameras. As you can see most of my reviews are about rangefinder styles cameras because those are the cameras that I enjoy using the most. In fact, my first camera review was the X-T3, I owned it for like a week or two and sent it back, could not deal with the position of the viewfinder.
      That being said, the cameras themselves are great, The X-T1 has the second-gen x-trans sensor, and overall focusing and speed improvements make it a decent choice. I'll keep other fuji options like the X-T series in mind. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! Cheers 😁✨

    Nice instructional video! I shoot JPEG + RAW, but normally I only use the RAW files as safety negatives. I much prefer the JPEGS with minimal editing.
    I mostly shoot with vintage film lenses on my E1. When I shoot with my E1, I'm not in a hurry. I also have the E2s, E3, H1 and S20. I love the look out of the E1 and E2s.

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Frank! Yes, I've been testing it for the past couple of weeks, using the X-pro2.
      It's a fun, inexpensive lens, with less clinical/sharp results than the fujinons, but that is to be expected, the main thing that can be annoying would be the finicky focusing ring. But definitely a fun experience!
      I'll be sharing more about this lens in my newsletter, including some samples as well! What are you shooting with lately? or what did you buy recently? 😂
      Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment, friend, I appreciate it! 😁🙌🏼

    I assume I can apply these settings to a X-E2 since they're similar cameras?

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  ปีที่แล้ว

      The sensor is different, but for the most part, the settings are very similar. The only difference might be custom film simulation recipes that you can find online, these are created with specific sensors in mind.
      But other than that, it should be good to go. I hope the video was useful! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! Cheers 🙌🏼✨

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting to hear your thoughts, but I strongly disagree, you can see some of the results I got from it in my full review video, I also have a focusing guide, to set it up as a back button focusing camera which makes it a lot faster, (I used the X-pro1 camera on the focusing guide video, but every setting applies to this one as well).
      I shoot manual mode and Jpeg only, with intentionality and that is how I'm able to get these types of results. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment! Cheers 🙏🏼✨

    I always shoot Raw. It is easy to correct a RAW file in Adobe Camera Raw. You can chose there what color you like, or black/white. Correcting a jpeg is not ideal. Do not understand why you chose jpeg.
