38:31 Icerator for the Dead would draw yourself to death with Sheoldred, The Apocalypse because every time you drew a card you would gain life and then you would draw cards instead and then gain life and you would create a loop till you were out of cards.

Not even the sheoldred combo would make it broken beyond belief. This would be a staple of all life gain decks, and even if not life gain, it would just be a staple card regardless due to cheating it into play and being able to draw an ungodly amount of cards each turn.

Googled nutritional benefits of corn and this shows up: It consists primarily of insoluble fiber, which makes it a low-glycemic index food. This means it is a food that is digested slowly and doesn't cause an unhealthy spike in blood sugar. It also contains many B vitamins, as well as essential minerals, including zinc, magnesium, copper, iron and manganese.

For Goblin Blast, there is plenty of cards which gives you a beneficial effect for targetting them with 0 damage so capping it at 3 might prevent some unwanted interactions. Like using it with a card like Cowardice to target every creature your opponents control and use the actual damage points to damage a commander or send a card to the graveyard you don't want back in their hand.

    First third of this video:
(0:04) Ghastly Satchel: Fair, ship. Could get you a bunch of treasures later on when it goes kaput. Hopefully it won't exile an important card from the top of your library.
    (0:43) Heh, a Backrooms Swamp.
(0:49) Clash of Brighteers: Underpowered, ship then never play. It's a pretty fun idea to get a bonus for being able to choose a Goat in play, but all you get is one card at best, for five mana. I'd say this should let you draw two cards normally, and give you four cards instead if you're able to choose a Goat.
(2:05) Crossray's Ria: OP, ship then ban. IT DANGER!!! Yeah, let's just plow through the entire library, and then win the game easily with Thassa's Oracle or whatever!
(3:28) Enssour with Artivation: OP, ship then ban. IT ALSO DANGER!!! Though maybe not quite as "danger" as Crossray's Ria, but it's still a lot card draws for just three mana, while also stealing something from the opponent if this reaches chapter 3. Maybe if this saga cost like 6 or 7 mana instead of 3, it would be more fair.
    (5:31) Now there's a Backrooms Island.
(5:38) Avatar of Remedy: Fair, ship. That's a rather strange filter land, but it works fine.
(7:42) Restless Portal: Fair, ship. I'd change "those creatures" to "that creature" so that it's more grammatically correct, and also maybe clarify the order in which it fights each creature... unless it's supposed to fight them all simultaneously somehow.
(9:18) Kionaba: Word salad, shred. Well, wouping the monarch does sound hilarious, but that doesn't exactly work for gameplay. The art is hilariously fitting at least. Maybe to fix this card, I'd word it like this: "Destroy target nonartifact creature. If that creature's controller is the monarch, then creatures you control gain trample until end of turn."
    (11:32) There's a Backrooms Plains.
(11:33) Kasima, Satyr Party: I almost want to say "fair, ship", but the +1 ability does not quite make perfect sense. Add the word "If" to the very beginning of that sentence, and this would be perfectly fine, and rather interesting. (Also, if you're having a Satyr Party, you gotta invite Gallia of the Endless Dance. :P)
(14:20) Bog Skix: Underpowered, ship then never play. This only helps your opponent! Why would I ever use this?!
(16:44) Tilant Spirit: Underpowered, ship. A 6/6 flying partner for 5 mana sounds okay, but the ETB ability is harsh, and the LTB ability is even worse! Fitting for a Demon, but for those downsides, I feel like maybe this guy should have even higher stats and/or a lower mana cost. How about an 8/8 flying partner for 4 mana with those downsides? Of course, if you can Donate this to your opponent and then bounce/kill it... Hehehe...
(19:24) Decree of the Drowned: Word Salad, shred. At least it supports the show 24. :P
(21:16) Felidar Triome: Word salad, shred. First of all, this isn't really a triome. Anyway, on a technical level, this is doable, but nothing is done with the mana payment, and while players can certainly play a mountain if it's discarded by Felidar Triome, you never have to pay a mana cost to play a land anyway. And, you're paying WUBRG for this meager effect? Underpowered too. Here's how I'd fix this: Change "if it's a mountain" to "if its mana value is less than or equal to the amount of mana paid". Then it would actually be somewhat interesting.
(24:06) Locus of Rage: Maybe fair, probably can ship. Dragons for everyone, especially when chaos ensues! It Zibers!
(24:32) That is a cool Wastes.
(24:34) Timenan Spirit: Fair, ship. Good if you want to make squids with your red deck.
(26:27) Baad Nix: Super duper OP, ship then ban. IT DANGER!!! Even with no mana cost, requiring you to cheat it into play somehow, this is ridiculous! I bet Robotnik would love Baad Nix to use against Sonic! :P

  • @dancing_odie
    @dancing_odie 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

1:09:35 We've already seen a land that says you win the game unless you pay 1 for each Merfolk you control. That's a 0 mana uncounterable win condition.

  • @SomeGuy712x
    @SomeGuy712x 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Third third of this video:
(1:00:51) Gruul Philospher: Word salad, shred. First of all, it's not red/green, so the Gruul part of the name is wrong. Secondly, the third ability is nonsense. However, the "partner with" ability can technically work on a non-legendary creature, such as with Impetuous Protege and Proud Mentor. We just need a card named "partist of sky, disralters," now.
(1:02:48) Myr Enigmation: OP, ship then ban. Take an extra turn for every creature spell you cast?! IT DANGER!!! I could see this being plausibly reasonable if the mana cost for this artifact were very high, but at just 2 mana, it's definitely way too strong.
(1:04:51) Greatsword Pride: Fair, maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Do you like squirrels? If you do, you'll love this possibly underpriced squirrel-maker!
(1:06:38) Shoal Contest: Word salad, shred... unless we can figure out what having king hand means. Also, it's still a land.
(1:08:26) Rainbow Elemental: OP, ship then ban. A 2-mana wrath at instant speed? It DANGER!!! Taste the rainbow... of death!
(1:10:11) Goblin Warchast: Word salad, shred. This guy is facepalming at the nonsense.
(1:11:41) Well Crab: OP, ship then ban. It's basically Ice Storm, but with a cantrip too, which I think makes this a bit too pushed. Now, if the mana cost was like 4 or 5 instead of 3, this probably would've been fair.
(1:12:59) Saffling Burgermaster: OP, ship then ban. It's Ancestral Recall on legs! But, that is a tasty-looking burger at least. Maybe if this required you to sacrifice 3 foods to draw 3 cards, it would be fair.
(1:15:07) Blackblade Mine: OP, word salad, ship then ban. Now we have land destruction on legs at 1 mana, with a bunch of other options thrown in as well, including making someone flip a card. So, we going all Chaos Orb now?
(1:16:00) Oh, right. There are flip cards in the old Kamigawa block, so it could work with those, which is neat. It should still say "Target player" instead of "That player", though.
(1:17:14) Soul Sage: Fair, ship. Ooh, a legendary Time Lord Doctor, so you can pair this with something that has Doctor's Companion. And, everything on this guy works just fine and isn't too OP. Also, it gives red a way to deal with enchantments at a reasonable cost. I like it a lot! It Zibers!
(1:18:32) Battle of the Glens: Fair, ship. This card is practically a real Magic card already. There exists Arachnoid Adaptation, which does the same thing for a single green mana, but it also gives the creature reach too. So, I could see this exact card existing in white.
(1:20:28) Cabaretti, Voice of Kiss: Fair, ship. I love how it benefits from equipment, and the graveyard hate is just gravy. It Zibers!
(1:21:49) Goblin Blast: Fair, ship. Arc Lightning just got power-crept, yo. I still think it's not way too OP, though. Also, the art is really good. It Zibers!

If you kill the monarch with damage in multi player format, that player is set to zero health. They do not lose the game until state based effects are checked. This occurs any time a player would gain priority, so the trigger always goes on the stack to change the monarch to you.
This is however not the end of the story - we need to then figure out who owns the trigger itself. All triggers are owned by the card causing the trigger, and in the very odd case of the monarch (which is a status, not a token counter or card) the trigger is connected to the attacking creature.
The end result is you become the monarch - unless all the creatures that dealt damage are owned by the deleted player. In these cases (*) there is now no monarch.
(*) there used to be dragons here - as it used to be that "there is a monarch" and "x is the monarch" were tracked separately, and some - but not all - ways to become the monarch would fizzle if there "was a monarch" but no player was in fact the monarch. This has been "fixed" but there are now sone very very complex situations where multiple people are becoming the monarch at once.

Restless Portal can be used to target a creature you control with deathtouch (power of targeted creature isn't super important cuz of +4 power) and then you just assign that deathtouch creatures damage to all of your opponents stuff instead of yours. One-sided destroy all creatures for 4 and a deathtouch creature is busted. Be careful of first/double strike tho. It also doesn't really have to fight itself since you can just assign the damage it deals to something else.

    Second third of this video:
(31:21) Consume Corn: Fair, ship. CORN!!!
    (33:54) That's a neat Forest planet.
(33:57) Painted Bond: OP, ship then ban. Holy Yawgmoth's Bargain on legs, Batman!
(36:11) Festive Hope: Underpowered, ship. You have to work to make this meaningful.
(37:42) Icerator for the Dead: Likely OP, ship then ban later if needed. Wow, now Healing Salve becomes Ancestral Recall! But, 6 mana to cast and only 2 toughness, and it does not have any kind of built-in protection. This might actually be fair.
    (40:19) Cool Mountain planet.
(40:21) Snow Assassin: Word salad? Fair, maybe OP, ship. Not sure how you play a land on an opponent, but otherwise, drawing 3 cards for 3 mana is perhaps okay. It's a little bit pushed, but not quite at Ancestral Recall's power level. If it means that players can play a land under the control of an opponent, then this could be great as a "group hug" type of card in Commander.
(42:27) Spur Tacker: Fair, ship. Very simple, totally doable, and on theme. It Zibers!
(44:18) Christmasters of Tarant: OP, ship then ban. That seems like an easy alternate win condition to fulfill, especially if you can proliferate, and while you're working on that, your opponents' attacks can allow you to get rid of artifacts and/or enchantments that are bothering you.
    (47:10) Icky Swamp planet.
(47:15) Christmas Dreadnaught: Fair, ship. Not sure why you'd want to Ninjutsu this, as it's just a 1/1, and you can't use Kicker with Ninjutsu. So, the main reason to play this guy is to kick it for the 9 damage to a creature, which for 5 total mana, is probably fair. (Shivan Meteor deals 13 damage to a creature for 5 mana, as a comparison.)
(49:56) Winter Gargoyle: OP, don't even ship it! A free 6/6 + 1/1 + make your opponent discard two cards?! IT DANGER!!! Change the mana cost from 0 to at least 6 or 7 to make it reasonably fair.
(50:30) Is this a rerun? I'll check real quick... And, yep! It was the very first card shown in the previous AI stream! Welp.
(50:35) Christmas Blood Power is also a rerun. It was the second card shown last time.
(50:50) I remember that really nice Island planet too.
(51:18) Sdelloons Pumpered: Word salad, underpowered, shred. 0/0 that dies instantly, the Bestow doesn't do anything useful, and the reminder text for Bestow is stamped. I don't think the zpowe would really consider this successful.
(53:07) Boneshaker Breaker: Maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Well, it definitely wants to be the goodest mechanical boy, and fetch cards for you. It's totally doable, but maybe it's a wee bit too goodest. I would say it Zibers, though.
(54:06) Displayer of Lurch: Fair, maybe underpowered, ship. It works, and even uses kicker correctly, but seems lackluster for the mana costs. Maybe if this thing actually had flying, and if the kicker cost was reduced from 4 to 1, then it would be better.
(55:12) It's at the very bottom of the flavor text, dood.
(55:52) Radiant's Eye: OP, ship then ban. It stares into your soul, and draws you way too many cards for the cheap cost. It this trying to be the new Contract from Below?
(56:36) Yes there is-- Contract from Below, an ante card, which draws you 7 new cards for just 1 black mana. The caveat is that you have to discard your current hand, and ante one additional card. Contract from Below is incredibly good in the old Shandalar computer game, since the story does play with ante rules.
(58:30) Riveteers' Route: Word salad, shred. Well, a 2/3 for 2 mana is okay, but then the rules text got sicks the game.
(58:57) 7 is indeed lucky. A week ago, I won 8 Dominaria Remastered packs in a draft (and during that draft, I had pulled a foil retro Force of Will, which was just insane luck already), and the 7th booster pack in that pile contained a Vampiric Tutor!

7:55 you read Restless Portal wrong! It says those creatures fight "each creature on the battlefield"! So you buff your guy and your guy fights everyone!

1:02:04 Gruul Philosopher might be what blue needs against Crashing Footfalls. Doesn't kill the 4/4 tokens but makes them manageable and you have to pay 1 at upkeep so it's fair. Too bad it's mostly nonsense

Icerator of the Dead aint that bad. since while its out you cant heal. and unless you have certain cards out you start discarding after getting i think 8 cards? so you will quite quickly just drain yourself of hp. and any smart player would never kill it because while you drawing a lot can be dangerous you also have 0 ways of getting life back while its out on the field.
