For some reason, after driving around with someone in the back seat of my 2019 Toyota Kluger and then stopping the car, when the person in the backseat goes to the front WITHOUT leaving the car (thru center console gap) when moving again the alarm for the back seat where they were sitting still goes off. Is running the AC while charging bad for the Sealion's battery? Like it slows down charing speed but when at 100% the car stop charging then the AC reduces to 98% soc and the car accepts power again. Repeating
Yes, I’ve noticed this too. It’s actually a positive sign, as it suggests that the system can draw power directly from the AC input via the charge controller, which is better for the battery since it likely avoids using its charge cycles. The AC input power is 6kW, with 3kW directed to the battery and 3kW powering the car’s system. Essentially, it’s running an expensive AC unit, but I don’t see how this would harm either the car or the battery. I’ve observed fluctuations in power, which might occur when the condenser requires cooling. This could trigger a high-draw fan system, creating a cycle of highs and lows in charging demand/flow. That said, this is just my guess based on my general understanding, someone more in the field may have a better answer to this.
Also my experience is the back seatbelt weight sensor is too sensitive and goes off if someone leans on the middle seat. Rubber floor mats are way easier the clean out orange outback dust. Im also still not a fan of the lack of safety pinch sensors in the tail gate and sun roof. The use of plastic quarter panels are concerning when other cars like Toyota's are still made of metal. And when you tap on the metal panels the sound is tinny and suggest very thin metal panels. After coming back from a trip in the outback, the amount of orange dust is certain places is concerning, like it's not inside the cabin but in small nooks by the door hinges.
Yeah the seatbelt sensor in the back is crazy sensitive, a bag on the seat will set it off.
