On my previous channel I did have a comparison video of Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan with Dior's Mitzah. I have always thought they were sort of similar. I have even thought that those two are also similar to Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Absolue Pour Le Soir. So it was time to do this video finally. Recently I also ran a surprise giveaway on my Top 20 Niche Fragrance video where I asked which two other fragrances reminded me of Absolue Pour Le Soir and there was a winner that won 100 samples. Anyway these three fragrance are so close yes so different. But all three are ambers and resinous, and warm and spicy and musky. But they are all very unique on their own. I recently acquired Ambre Sultan. Such a great fragrance, I love how warm it is. COZY as HECK!
I tried and tried to like Ambre Sultan but the bay leaf was just too much for me. May have to try it again.
They do indeed ship Absolue Pour le Soir - bought mine from Canada and received it in about two weeks (I got the engraving done). I've had nothing but great service ordering from the MFK website so far.
Great to have such a comprehensive comparison.
I've not tried the serge lutens, but I own the Mfk & Dior. I never put the connection between them together but now thinking about it ,I can see it.

Absolu pour le soir is my favourite Mfk. The perfect mix of a little skanky & a little swanky 😏

Just picked up Ambre Sultan in a 50 ML at TJ Maxx for $30. Really happy with it.
Mitzah Bricard was Christian Dior’s muse .That's where the name came from. The fragrance was available in all 125,250 and 450ml sizes , but now 250ml is the only one you can get . Not sure about the US , but in EU in all boutiques they sell Mitzah line silk scarfs . I was told in one of their London boutiques Mitzah is out of stock . It's one of their best sellers they told me.
I just got a 250ml bottle of Mitzah after years of searching. And i’m in love 🥰 It has everything i want in one bottle. To me the opening is very similar to LDDM by tauer. Heading into the mid i get ambre nuit and in the base a similar vibe to feve delicieuse. I thought nothing could ever beat feve but honestly i think this one is dethroning it 🤷♀️
My batch is a 2016.
I have had Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan for many years. Still my favourite. It is the most delicious amber.
I have all three love ❤️love ❤️love❤️ them! This amber resin balsamic category is starting to take over my collection. Mitzah is easily one of my top five of all time!

I do like me some amber scents. My favorite is Armani Prive Amber Eccentrico, followed closely by Issey Miyake Ambre Noir, MFK Grand Soir and Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Amber Sun

Been waiting for this one! Amber is currently my favorite. Got today Amber Aoud by Roja and Amber sun by D & G, both are amazing in different ways. Also love Grand Soir and camel by zoologist and Mitza of course.

BTW between Roja AA and D&G VelveTAmberSun which one do you like more. I have a decant of Amber Sun but never tried Roja AA.
Mitzah is far my favorite from the bunch...wonderful blend of spices wrapped in that smooth as silk Dior La Collection DNA. Ambre Sultan is an amazing scent...sadly, it just smells too foodie (like find Indian cuisine) to wear on my skin - but it's still an excellent scent. Absolue Pour LeSoir...um, I don't recall much detail, but I didn't like it nearly as much as I loved Mitzah and Ambre Sultan. But that's just my opinion. Cheers.

I just smelled it like literally 1.5 hours ago in a perfume shop here in Cannes where I'm at. I enjoyed it a lot and it did hint at Ambre Sultan a little. I need to test it but the lovely store gave me a sample to test! :)

What do i like and what causes me to watch your information that you share on your 'share'. You are honest in your reviews. A definite ' + ' is that your err strongly to REAL fragrances. Not this designer rubbish. The journey has been a long one as to finally finding REAL fragrances, THAT WORK. We all started out thinking the deodorant from the supermarket was great. No going back there. Keep sharing, thank you.
Haven't tried Absolue Pour Le Soir, but I do love my Grand Soir and Ambre Sultan. Both layer extremely well if you go light on the trigger, but always tend to outlast anything I put on top.
Which one do you like more Sultan or Grand SOir? Are they both that cozy, for cuddly occasion (I tried Grand Soir and its like that for me... gentle amber fragrance)
@@stefanbanovic Grand Soir is far more on the cuddly occasion side imo and considerably sweeter. Ambre Sultan is a beast of a churchy incense. But since the formula is rather simple, it makes me wonder if Lauder will bring it back. 🤔 It'd be easy to dilute and perhaps even make more palatable. Could be a new hit.

Hm main difference for me between the Dior and the MFK one versus SL: Cinnamon. It’s listed in Mitza, while with Grand Soir it must be somewhere mixed in the ’amber’ accord. I can't with cinnamon unfortunately. That's why Serge Lutens is the way to go for me. Ambre Extreme by L'Artisan is actually the originator but there the patchouli is atomic and I can't with patchouli.
Love APLS! I also find Histoires de Parfums Ambre 114 to be really similar to Ambre Sultan but without the herbal aromatic aspect.
I'm in Paris just now, went specifically to the CD Boutique you mentioned in your other video to buy 250ml of Mitzah and Vetiver from there, The Russian girl there was really nice to us, I spoke to here and here colleague about your TH-cam chanel. Hopefully they have subscribed.

I fell in ❤️ with Grand Soir on first wear. It speaks elegance, confidence and beauty. I think I still have a spray or two in my sample. Definitely on my buy list.
I have all three but don’t find APLS similar at all. I found Armani Prive’s Ambre Orient to be a more direct comparison to both Mitzah and Ambre Sultan. APLS has the urinous opening that strongly differentiates it from the other two. I even find Annick Goutal Ambre Fetiche a closer comparison than APLS.
I don't like Absolutepour le soir and sold my Ambre Sultan (I think it could need some sweetness), but I love Grand Soir.
Could you please compare MFK Grand Soir to other sweet ambers? Like Elie Saab Ambre and others? Thanks!

I found Ambre Sultan to be identical to Amber Absolute by TF (which is discontinued, but it's pretty much Tobacco Oud without the Oud note).
I own TF Tobacco Oud and found Ambre Sultan redundant
It's one of those things that if you smell them separately they're the same, but if you smell them one after the other they're different
I've actually wanted to buy Grand soir from MFK but I don't have any retailer near me and on their website I saw that they are not shipping to Italy ( don't know why ). In the end, I ordered today Ambre sultan eventhough it was a blind buy, but since I like amber I think I will definitely like it.

My favourite of the three is mitzah. I don't like absolu pour le soir at all . Amber sultan is good .

MFK Grand Soir is for me the Amber hot stuff, followed by CD's Ambre Nuit.
I hope you get to try Absolue Pour Le Soir. It's what became Grand Soir. They are so different yet so similar! :)

Hi Sebastian, i would like to ask if serge lutens ambre sultan smells similar to Tom Ford Amber Absolute or different? If similar, how similar they are? If different, what are the differences?
They share similarities but not identical. I don't find the TF very aromatic other than that they might be quite similar. :)
Tf amber absolute is sweet(green,encens,oudy and maybe some green notes) compare to SL ambre sultan is warm, different quality in my opinion but I prefer ambre sultan!All come to preference 🤷🤷🤗🤗

What about compared to Tom Ford amber absolute with the serge lutens.. I smelled the Tom Ford at an Estee lauder botique but was still pricey on sale for like $180... I liked it and on frangratica said a lot of people compared it to the serge lutens ambre sultan
