There are three types of material strengths 1. Tensile strengths which is the material ability to stretch without tearing. 2. Compression strengths which is the material ability to compressed example diamonds 💎 3. Impact strengths which is the ability to obsorb impact example A diamond 💎 have high compressions strengths but it can be shattered with a hammer 🔨
The thumbnail is gallium. I have about 100g of it in pure, and it is not very strong at all (in fact, by dropping a bar of it at 1 meter it would break). In addition, it melts just if you put hot water on it so it is not very useful in terms of strength.
@@Factnomenal basically take it as a joke as they don't exist irl... they're minecraft thingies lol. Netherite is harder than diamond in Minecraft, and bedrock is unbreakable.... whereas I hope u know the Nokia 3310 meme XD
To be fair most people dont know how MANY quality levels of diamonds AND gold so in the perspective its ambiguous but yes it is assumed by most that diamonds are worth more. However do your research.
it has about the same properties as modern low to medium grade carbon fibers made from the acrylonitrile PAN process. modern carbon fiber theoretically could be 10x stronger if you used a continuous suspended catalyst CVD cylindrical furnace to make carbon nanotubes, crosslink bonded and wound them, then made your carbon fiber tow spool or fabric. fibers made with acrylonitrile could still be 3x stronger than the 2-3GPa strands made most often today. Some Hexcel and Toray products exceed 6GPa, but using PAN it becomes very difficult. I bet you could get something like 12GPa with modern carbon nanotube production methods, there is a 2015 paper cited on wikipedia listing 9GPa: something about "Carbon Nanotube Alignment and Densification" the guy who made this video is wrong about silicon carbide. it is a high temperature ceramic with many structural forms, but not harder than diamond.
Why not spider silk it's the strongest bio-material and it's tensile strength is grater than that of dimands I'd buy spider silk over dimands of the same mass
Well, because there are two types of measurement systems - one that most countries use... and the one that America used to put men on the moon with. Lol

Fact
If the spider silk is tied to be thick like 5 ropes it can stop a jumbo jet
the coolest is platinum and graphene
I think it should be graphene
Nuclear pasta
No way it needs another material to keep it intact. What a weak item.
You forgot one it’s the strongest thing in the universe
Nokia
Hahahahaha!! That make me laugh
he said only diamond can cut diamond? i doubt that

Nothing is stronger than a Graphene
Wow kevlar can withstand -350 degrees Fahrenheit
Atomic decay will always mess with the micro geometry.
Hardness != Strength
Strength != Toughness
Toughness != Hardness
Wow nice vid I wish I had all of these things and tested them
Graphene, wurtzite boron nitride, hexagonal diamond
Would wurtZite boron nitride break if a bullet hit it, cuz my gf a scientist and said it would break since it’s harder it would be more brittle
Carbyne
I would of thought titanium would be on the list, and that diamonds are more expensive than gold?
Imagine having a bulletproof vest out of lonsdaleite
Without proper ablative layers before and behind... it would be worse than duct taping reams of office paper to your chest. Even against a .22LR.
Love your thinking. But how would u go about creating a vest made of that awesome material
Plot armour is the strongest

It should be the metal alloy which is platinum+gold

Well technically diamonds are worthless, there’s a lot out there and the market is controlled, gold is definitely more valuable
oh hell yes ur right
Can any of this be used to make a vacuum balloon?
