    Current CAA here and this video is on point. Salaries are trending up as well many being 200k+ with substantial sign on bonuses. With overtime, many CAAs are pulling $250k a year relatively easily. Just depends on how much you want to work. Rewarding career as well, so definitely go for it.

    I'm so glad I've found your channel. It's hard to find content out there about anesthesiologist assistants (love me some Chabely & Sally!), especially a black woman! I will definitely be following your journey to help keep me pushin because this lil undergraduate is eating me up 🥲.

      @@Farrenamara that would be awesome! Also, could you provide a cost breakdown per CAA practicing state? It’s easy to see an average salary, but I’d like to know where the money-making states are since practice is limited. Thanks 😘

      lol that was me in undergrad but for me I was already tired of being in school for so long and I was ready to get to the money. I also liked the idea of being the person to call for help instead of the one that holds the most responsibility and makes the final calls (too much pressure for me personally). I wanted a guaranteed 40hr/ week and less debt of course. BUT obviously there are a million benefits to becoming a physician! (More money, independence, more knowledge, you can work ANYWHERE, etc)

    • @Farrenamara
      @Farrenamara  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hey! I used a lot of flashcards, so that I could write the info down a million times until it was stuck in my head, listened to the lectures over and over, the more time I spent in the OR the more sense everything made. Its easier for me to learn things when I’m actually using the info in real time. I would make the instructors teach me something every day in the OR or help me understand a difficult concept.

Do you have any tips on how to be a competitive applicant for CAA school for someone in a non-traditional major? Like tips on how to get to start getting experience with shadowing or patient interaction? Also love the video, you are hilarious!!

      Hey! so different schools will have different course requirements so you will just need to check with each program to see who wants what. Whatever prereqs they have listed are a requirement though. Shadowing is a requirement at this point. Becoming an anesthesia tech will help with your experience. Getting in is extremely difficult now because the career has become more popular so you need to go above and beyond. But....YOU CAN DO IT!
