Thank you girl!! For all your advices. I’m 22 and I graduated from business school, but my heart was never really into business. I few months ago I found I’m passionate in medical field and will love tongo for a CAA, watching and hearing ppl like you just make me feel more motivated. God bless you alwayss❤
@danielarosillo1479 I totally agree, I am currently in my business undergrad but really want to make this move. I'd like to see where you are in the process. Let's connect
I just found out about this program. I live in Wisconsin and the school that offers it is a little over an hour from me. I’m in LPN and currently finishing my prerequisites for ADN at a technical college. This is motivating me to aim for As on my classes now.
Thanks I’m a RT interested in transitioning into a CAA. I’m enjoying your content ! Very informative & love your personality I’m definitely tuned throughout the entire video!
This is what I looked like when I watched this video while I ate my dinner, while I already knew all the info 'cuz I got in, but just watch for your fun energy lol: 🤓🤓🤓 Great video, though; this is such good information for anybody who wants to apply to CAA school!
No there is not. I think we maybe had a total of 3-4 projects we had to do and they aren’t bad at all. A lot of the information is either given to you or it’s coming from your own experience with a patient like doing a case review and saying f what you learned. At least that’s how it was at Case-Austin
Watching this made me realize I’m NOT a good fit for the CAA program. Mostly because I can’t pass physics! I hate physics!! lol There’s no way I can get a 3.8/4.0 in all my pre reqs. Sighhh
Chile you better pray and fix your mindset because you can do anything. Get you some tutoring. I hated physics and had to retake chem for an A a couple times so do not count yourself out. Pleaseeeee lol I’m rolling my eyes at you lololol jk but no really don’t count yourself out.
Hi! I loveeeee PACU nurses! Thank you so much for the work that you do. You definitely have a lot of patient care experience, probably just need to make sure the prerequisites/admin tests align (some schools ask for specific courses that others do not). Your personal statement and LORs are going to be awesome though.
Hi! The AA program is a full time gig. You won’t have the time/ availability to work any other job. Not even at night. You’ll be studying or in the hospital all the time. No class on the weekends but you will be busy on the weekends too so I do not recommend working
Hey, I’m finishing my bachelors in Healthcare Administration. Do you think I’ll be able to use that also? Like some type of administrative position in anesthesia department?
I am going to start shadowing soon is there a specific hour log sheet I need? Also if I have past patient care experience how do I need to show proof of that?
I am highly considering CAA! The problem is that my state don't have AA schools nor do they permit CAA to work here (yes one of those states 😒). There are only 16 states that permir CAAs to work and that's concerning me (job wise, growth, future outlook). What do you advice? Thanks!
I moved from NC to TX for my program and within those two years many job opportunities were created back home(I just wanted to stay here). This profession is really growing and we are in high demand. You may not be able to work in your home state right now but there are many other opportunities out there and eventually your state may open up as well. There aren’t many AA schools right now but there were less when I first started this journey. This is definitely a promising career and growth is inevitable. It’s very easy for us to leave one job and start another and there are a lot of travel opportunities as well.
Hi Farren! I am interested in pursuing the CAA route and I loved your video! I do have couple questions for you. 1) I still have to do a few things for my application including getting my shadowing hours, possibly retaking the GRE and writing my personal statement. When do you recommend getting applications turned in? I know a lot of the schools have different deadlines and that a lot have rolling admission, but what timeframe do you recommend? When did you submit your applications? 2) I took the GRE last year and got a 156 Verbal, 153 Quant, and a 4.5 Analytical writing and my GPA is a 3.96. Do you think I should retake my GRE because of my lower quant score? What were your scores and other CAA students' scores if I may ask? 3) What would you focus on writing about in the personal statement? I have about 800 hours of patient care experience having worked and volunteered in Physical therapy as an aide, do you think it would be good to include that on the application and on the personal statement? thank you!
Hi! I do not do shadowing right now but I know several other AAs in San Antonio that do. Let me see what their schedule looks like and figure out a way to get y'all connected!
I’ve been an OR nurse for about 5 years and am thinking about CAA school. I know I definitely need to retake some of my pre-reqs to get my GPA up, but do you think programs take clinical experience into consideration?
Hello I am currently a freshman in my second semester of undergrad and I am very interested in the CAA path! Any tips on when I should start shadowing?
I don’t think it will be saturated in our lifetime because the demand is so high and we not even open in all 50 states andddd we don’t have that many programs open yet
For the anesthesia courses you’ll need to apply to the masters program and for the prerequisite courses you can take those at any accredited college just call the schools you’re applying to in order to make sure they will accept the credit.
Do you feel like a bachelors in anything else like business would be accepted to go into the program? I’m an A student high gpa and I’m not interested in business at all the medical field is where my heart is 100%. But if I could get this bachelors and then pre reqs and apply it would be a faster route.
I have all of my pre-requisites but my gpa is low. I have a 3.1 cumulative should I still apply and shoot for a high GRE? I do have a lot of b's and c's so Im not sure what to do, because I do not want to take a lot of classes over. Should I start studying and apply for the 2024 cycle?
This one is tough because getting in is extremely competitive now. I would retake some of the prereqs especially the ones you got a C in. Competitive gpa used to be a 3.5. I’m sure now it’s at least 3.8/4.0. I think you should take some time to get the gpa up, take the mcat (harder but means more to some schools). Make yourself the best candidate you could possibly be.
I’m so happy see another black girl in this program☺️ I plan on going to AA school after my undergrad!
I am so excited for you! thank you watching my videos and I can't wait for you to start your journey!
And me too

Hey I'm from Wisconsin too. I'm a RN and was thinking about this program. What school offers this program?
This is the best TH-cam video I’ve ever watched. You’re so good! Thank you so much for sharing.

I’ve been looking for more black women in CAA! I’m currently applying & this was so helpful! ✨suscribed✨
Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing I’m learning more about this career❤
So grateful for this video. Thank you for making it 🫶🏾

So much information on this video
you are the shit. thank you. im terrified, but you only live onceeeeee
Not a raccoon dying 😂 Farren to funny
Omg I love your energy. I’m so glad to see diversity.
Question, is there a lot of essay/ research paper writing in CAA school?
No there is not. I think we maybe had a total of 3-4 projects we had to do and they aren’t bad at all. Go to tutoring. If you want to be a CAA don’t let that detour you. There’s help available

The comments you mentioned about requirements (scores/gpa) and competition...is that from the perspective of the Florida programs?
No, this is a general perspective of getting into all of the programs.
I have a low undergrad gpa and a 4.0 post bacc gpa (retook majority of prereqs)
Do you think it will be helpful to do a smp before applying?
I say apply now and then if you don’t get in, then do the smp. Especially if everything else looks good.
I love your video I’m currently in school for RT . My question is could I possibly apply in the future to a CAA program ?
Hi! Yes you just need to make sure you meet all of program requirements when you apply
X ray? Im finishing up my associate in imaging science but I don’t know what to do afterwards. I really want to become a caa
You are quirky, and I love it!!! ❤ I'm a registered nurse and work in PACU... do I have the requirements to start my CAA training? 😘😘😘
Hi! I loveeeee PACU nurses! Thank you so much for the work that you do. When you do your application there is a spot for all of that on the portal
Thank youuuu ❤

Do the nurse version
You are so funny 😂😂
What’s school did you attend to go to CAA
Farren, are the recommended pre-reqs mentioned in your video undergraduate or graduate level courses?
Undergraduate courses! You’ll take all the graduate courses once you’re in the program.
Hello I am currently a freshman in my second semester of undergrad and I am very interested in the CAA path! Any tips on when I should start shadowing?
Hi! I would say go shadow now just to see everything in person and then start seriously shadowing maybe junior year.
Do you have to shadow specifically a CAA or it can be a CRNA or a anesthesiologist?
@@Farrenamarawould graduating as an undergrad from WGU and doing my prereqs with labs on campus be good? As long as the school and accredited?
Considering the rising popularity of the profession, do you think there'll be saturation in the near future?
I don’t think it will be saturated in our lifetime because the demand is so high and we not even open in all 50 states andddd we don’t have that many programs open yet
When I was in clinical (Wisconsin), I did hear of the First nurse position. Is this similar to anesthesiologist assistant?
I’m not sure what the first nurse position is.
Please, where do i take these courses. I have BSN.
For the anesthesia courses you’ll need to apply to the masters program and for the prerequisite courses you can take those at any accredited college just call the schools you’re applying to in order to make sure they will accept the credit.
What are the requirements for international students
Same requirements for candidates here. Bachelors degree, prerequisite courses shadowing hours, etc. it’s all going to be on the application portal 😉
Did you take the GRE or MCAT?
GRE but take MCAT the competition is thickkkkk right now

If I go back for my bachelors in chem or biology it’ll be another 4 years before I get into the AA program 😩
Just take the required prerequisites. You don’t need a degree in chemistry or biology.
@@cyneshasurrell9151 thank you!
Which school did you go to in Austin I am in the area & trying to find a school .
Case Western
Thank you !
