    Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

    After 6 useless video yours helped me because you assume the viewer doesn't know how to do this. I mistakenly took off the screws on the downrod without noting which screws went where. Dumbest thing was to put all screws in one place then could not remember which one went where. Thanx for showing the rod as it was before removing the screws.

    Thanks for your video and detailed instructions as I was unfamiliar with the new types of hanging celling fans ,especially with down rods, and it's what I thought that the bulb shape at top of rod must fit in socket so it's safely secure and your hands are free to do the wiring.

    I’ve got a similar fan but because of the angle of my ceiling the canopy wouldn’t attach. So I had to get a canopy adapter kit which has a larger opening for the downrod to accommodate the angle. The problem is that neither the bracket nor the plastic ball that come with the canopy adapter kit have a place to screw in a ground wire. The directions say to screw the ground wire into the small hole in the downrod, but my downroad only had the two big holes for the metal peg to go through it.

    Make sure to attach your fan blade screws tightly because they will come lose and stop the fan motor from working.

    My big question: how do you determine how long the downrod & fan width needs to be to make sure the blades don’t hit the ceiling? My cathedral ceiling is roughed in for a light and I know it’ll need a downrod. Just need help with the length. Thanks!

    Great vid...but why is the downrod threaded at one end??

    • @TheExcellentLaborer
      @TheExcellentLaborer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jeffrey! This rod came threaded but does not serve a purpose for this installation. It’s a universal Rod. So maybe some fans require the threads. Thanks for watching!

    Coastal Creek by Harbor Breeze: The glass globe has two holes drilled in it about 1 inch apart. The larger hole is for slipping the the mounting post. The smaller hole is for the pull chain activating the fan switch. The slightest pressure as the chain pulls through the globe activating the fan will cause the globe to crack and become useless. Mine cracked the first day after I installed the fan. This is a design flaw and anyone should know when you put holes in thin glass that close together a crack is likely to develop.

    • @TheExcellentLaborer
      @TheExcellentLaborer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I see what you are saying. The chain could potentially crack the globe if pulled hard on the wrong angle.

    • @TheExcellentLaborer
      @TheExcellentLaborer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don’t know why my FAN chain is not able to pull from the chain. It’s like sticky and jammed. I always have to turn the fan off and pull it from the base of the string

  • @ethanhurst3307

    When I snug up the screws it makes the down rod slightly out of center and leaning at an angle because it has the threads on the one end. With the short OEM rod there are no threads. I feel like that is bad design by the company…
