    Borsellino Carpentry is a construction company located in Upstate New York. I specialize in small residential remodeling jobs. This channel is dedicated to teaching other contractors, carpenters, small business owners, DIYers, weekend warriors and anyone else who just wants to learn a little bit about home improvement. The full name of the company is actually Borsellino Carpentry & Home Repair, LLC but that is just too much of a mouthful! I also do tool reviews, business tips and other contractor related videos on this channel. In the wintertime I even do snow plowing videos. I try to mix it up and show all the parts of the contracting job, not just the glorious finished product. Please leave me a comment and let me know if there's any specific topics or jobs you'd like me to cover. Thanks for watching! 👋😃

    Thanks for the video. Short and to the point without 15 minutes of rambling, just what I was looking for. Gonna try this out tomorrow and save the labor costs of getting someone else.

    Perfect, thanks. I wanted to know if I could shorten the standard down-rod. Seeing you unscrew the knuckle gives me hope.

    Bought a new fan and a 24" downrod which has one end threaded. The fan I bought does not have female threads in the top of the fan so after inserting the pin I tightened the set screws against the male threads of the rod which was kinda fun. Can't find any inserts or anything and now I need to balance the thing. Not real bad but it's enough to aggravate me lol. Nice video!

    Ceiling fans can help even out temperature difference from room to room. Also adds to comfort levels. I like the knuckle for holding the fan to mount at ceiling. Much easier installation. Thanks!

      yeah, I've got that fan running right now to try to push the warm air down. The knuckle is very handy!

    This was a great video. I just purchased the same ceiling fan with the downrod. My issue is the canopy. Of course it's the last thing I needed to do. Unless there's a better solution I'm going to need longer canopy screws. The bracket does not fit outside the box hole onto the ceiling, rather inside the hole. I hate it when you need to match a certain thread. They rarely fit. Wish me luck.

      oh snap! longer screws? Can you get a box extender or is it the actual fan parts that need to be longer?? The machine screws used for electrical can be pretty standard. I should do a video explaining how I check. Hold the screws flipped backwards from each other and touch the threads together. If they interlock, they are the same thread size. If they don't, it's off. Of course you need to know the diameter too! My local hardware store has a display with nuts attached and you literally screw the screw into it and it shows what size it is and coarse or fine thread! good luck!!!

      @@BorsellinoHomeServices I was able to use two longer screws that came with the fan. The heads were slightly larger than needed but I was able to get them into the canopy ring. I'm a happy camper.

    My slab height is 12ft and fall ceiling is 18inch i need to keep more 1ft under the fall ceiling. My question is whether my fan will function steadily with 2.5ft rod or it will wobble as there is no support inbetween to the down rod??

    • @BorsellinoHomeServices
      @BorsellinoHomeServices  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i'm actually very happy with how the fan operates. The one with the downrod is probably the most stable fan in my house!!! Better than the flushmount one in my office!!!!!!!

    I just installed a 12 inch downrod and now my fan wobbles slightly at high speed, did I do something wrong? My fan doesn’t have threads for tightening only the downrod

      hmmm. im not sure. I had an old fan that came with weights to help even out inconsistencies but i've never had a wobbling problem with mine

    I have no idea how all of your fittings came off so easily, unless you had already done it and this was a second version for demonstration purposes. My downrod is so tightly in there that I can't figure out how to unthread it.

      @@BorsellinoHomeServices I was able to remove mine. It seems it was siliconed in place with the electrical wires that were being threaded through at the base. After I broke that seal, it turned freely.
