- Reaction To Kummeli - Normipäivä (Finnish Comedy)
This is my reaction to Kummeli - Normipäivä
In this video I react to comedy from Finland from Finnish comedy television sketch show Kummeli
#finland #comedy #reaction
Original Video - • Kummeli, normipäivä - ...
This joke is national lore here.
Normipäivä = a normal day
A common day amongst the other. Nothing out of the ordinary- Normal😅
a regular day, a typical day, an ordinary day...
Basic day
Kummeli is the Finnish version of Fast Show. Both rely heavily on catchphrases, over-the-top characters and repetition. And both are still well remembered in their respective countries.
Those two are my all time favorites. The Fast Show well remembered in Finland too. I have certain phrases or talking styles etc. coming to my head from both shows basically every day to this day. Maybe i'm a weirdo 😊 I'm not pissed you know! 😅
This is legendary! 😂
"just normal day tomorrow" became a flying sentence in Finland thanks to this skit
"norm-day"
I'm Finnish and most Finnish comedy has never really been my cup of tea so to speak, and I never watched Kummeli on TV, but this was actually hilarious. Probably mostly due to my being on summer holiday and I've had a few drinks already. 😄
Only 1 beer . What could happen 😂 . Hello from finland ❤. Keltanen jaffa = cures hangover.
Keltainen Jaffa teki sen joskus.
Tavallinen, normaali päivä is a formal form of "a normal day". Normipäivä is something you might say to your pal in ups and downs, usually in downs: "What kind of a day did you have?", "I got fired, the customers were a-holes, I got a little drunk, moved my car from a ticket place, 8 meters, the police stopped me and I lost my driving license, I did some other mistakes as well and lost 1000 euros in gambling and my house was set on fire, and got cheated by my girlfriend once again. So nothing out of ordinatry, normipäivä."
same old same old.
Mert! I really like your stile seeing our culture with foreign eyes. Never been in Scotland but I sure would like to visit your country 🤔😊
I am a Finn living in Sweden and if I heard you right, you are from Scotland. I wish to have these kind celebratings with a Scot, it would be a lot of fun, a Finn and a scot. I am a new subscriber of course. Thank you for your videos.
Kummeli: The World in Flames is definitely worth a reaction, it is even in English.. there are two parts, they are both short.
I recomme.d the biggest legend of kummeli memes: Tonnin seteli. (1000 marks paper cash)
paper cash = bill. a 1000 mark bill
@@Nobody-Nowhere never knew lol, i felt a bit silly by writing that tho but i think everyone got the message x)
You should see the Kummeli - Pääministeri Jermu collection. You will laugh so hard that your stomach hurts. ;)
You don't often see people from outside of Finland appreciating Kummeli!
I'd recommend you see their early stuff, as it also offers you a glimpse into the mindset of early 1990s Finland at the same time. You decide whether that's a bonus or a malus. :D
This was funny, you have a good taste! 😊
Have you already reacted to "roudasta rospuuttoon"? Classic comedy skit.
Studio Julmahuvi - Roudasta Rospuuttoon w/ English subtitles

Definitely a +1 for this!
One of the best!
This is gem!
Jaffa - the classic hangover drink.
Scientists: It doesn't work.
Me: Yeah, it does!
Also for when you felt sick in the stomach as a kid.
Im old enough to miss red Jaffa.
My favourite. Kummeli Lentäjä.
It's not from Kummeli though.
i recommend "Ketonen Myllyrinne - Intersport - Everlast" that is hilarious
Well you should watch the adventures of Aziz the combat fighter by Kummeli 🤭
The pilot is my fathers cousin and ” priest” is married to my school friend. But Kummeli was so great❤
This sketch is the sole reason people in Finland drink Jaffa when hungover. And when people refer to having the hangover of their life, they often say they had a normipäivä. This show is fun to watch because it was shot in familiar places. That church is in Tampere downtown for example.
The crows bullying the librarian is also odd but funny. And Esa & Tero Nahka, the short guys and the professor offering them nuts. It's a dick joke but maybe not translatable.
"Normal Day" aka "Normi päivä" is a classic joke from Kummeli never gets old and it's the old finnish mentality back in the day. Don't think too many of our younger generation even understand this anymore =)
Lapinlahden linnut, Korroosio, Ugrilampaat...
There was a time when they participated in some pan-european tv comedy thing. They mainly recycled some of their low dialogue scetches from their classic 90s run, but they had originals too, like the excellent 2 World in Flames ones. Easily found here on TH-cam.
The guy Heikki Silvennoinen, who played a pilot, he actually flies planes in real life!
"Normipäivä" is, loosely, "got nothing special, just another day of the week", "Normi" literally means a norm, so "according to the norm", but nowadays it's mainly used as an abreviaton of normaali, normal. So, simply put, "normal day". Dunno if there's an explicit expression exactly for this but you'll get the drift :)
Kummeli means 'cairn'. They have done few sketches for English speaking audience also. But first some football: "kummeli the best game ever". Here a French guy learns some English: "Kummeli - Le river". An American gets a tour in a car museum: "Kummeli - Automuseo- Car Museum". These have English subtitles. A norm day at Jankko's Concrete: "Jankko's Concrete - Finnish Comedy Sketch (Kummeli: Jankon Betoni) English Subtitles". If you want to know the true story behind Santa Claus: "Totuus joulupukista - The truth about Santa Claus w/subtitles". About shame: "Kummeli Pikku Henry translated".
Kulmasohva is excellent, too.
As a carpenter myself, that's the best.
No,,they are not regreting the "of tempore' " party. ,, (. and the pauses in the video are " for a thinking pause". ).
Aziz the Combat Fighter. My god they are hilarious but also very volatile shit. be carefull 😆
Try "Siskonpeti, Viinapäivä". It's hilarious, if you know finnish drinking habits. ⛄👍
We don't drink we just enjoy our stay in this planet.
All Siskonpeti series are good! Also Märät säpikkäät, it was a comedy show by two Finnish Saami women.
I dont know if Sotamies Väätäinen is found in english subtitles but that is fun
You need to react to Finland new eurovision participant windows 95 man no rules live show. Fun fact that pilot Heikki Silvennoinen can actually fly a plane.
I did not know that but i know he has been driving rally car in SM cup
This is one they actually cut from the show. It was later shown in a Kummeli documentary and became a hit that's still quoted in Finland th-cam.com/video/rxdpxL2rab4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Vx_DVWkki39CMpca
Pääministeri (Prime Minister) sketches are good, there's a subtitled version of them as well.
Kummeli has something that's actually mostly in English. (Except word "titta" which means look in Swedish, and rest non English words are just names).

I dont know if they have english subtitles but Pulkkinen is also excellent.
Normipäivä = Normie day
Roudasta rospuuttoon (Studio Julmahuvi)
Ensipurasu
Is toil leam na bhideothan agad, obair mhath 😁👍
If channel host would read any finnish text, I bet it would be funny...in Finland. No pun intended but finnish with (eeer) scot accent. Id love to hear him do it.
Yuo should watch Kummeli's Tamppaajat
i would call it pause of realisation or contemplation. not sure what original meaning is.
Eiköhän se just tota oo.
Kummeli, react to panomies sketch
See UMK24 Finland's Eurovision contestant Windows95man this year
kummeli, perintöä odotellessa..
just a normal day.... its all right.... u can drink a couple ;DDDD been there... lyckily not that responsibble job :D
do you have anything tomorrow.. nothing just normal day... people still say this nowadays.. so many slogans have this show lets our vocabularity...
Arent you Begbie? Your pub scenes ended differently 😬
Legendary clip, but the translation sucks. "three chili grapefruits" wtf 😂
Your pronounciation of "päivä" was really good. Just loose the "ph" sound. Take a sheet of paper and just say "p". I the paper moves, you are adding too much of exhale.
Onks sulla mitään huomenna?
Basic lesson on Finnish language: The stress is always on the first syllable.🤔👌
HELsinki👍- not HelSINki😖
KUMmeli👍-not KumMEli😖
