@@ChocolateSquadChannel I ❤ seeing sistas using TEXTURED hair, yarns etc. I believe we are our most attractive with our textured hair, wigs & weaves (if you prefer them.) I don't believe textured hair is a curse BUT A BLESSING!!! *NOBODY CAN STYLE & PROFILE LIKE US!!!! WE MAKE TRENDS POP!!!* 💥💥💥💥
I’m loving that these types of channels are popping up on my feed like yessss! BURN THE WIGS! If you do wear wigs….wear textured wigs! Match your hair texture 💕!
That straight hair mess ain't it. It looks horrible and masculine when BW wear straight hair wigs. It looks lflat and sticking to the scalp. I think big and full hair is beyond sexy, classy and attractive.
@@ChocolateSquadChannel Thanks for doing this video topic. I detest bloody weaves/wigs and l hate (yes, you heard me right, mate) skin bleachers in the BBC as well. Keep up the good work. I am binge watching your videos, right now.
I agree that added hair does not protect your hair. The hair is growing, but as soon as you remove it the hair starts to break from dryness and it destroys your edges. I would much rather wear my own hair regardless of length and texture. FYI, I love my natural 4b/4c hair.
When an African woman walks into room with natural hair, the room is electrified. I make it a point to always compliment her. It makes me proud. People be hatin and want us to hate ourselves.✊🏿
I’m at the age 29 and I’m starting to just not like my wigs anymore…. I did start wearing them when I was 19 because I would get bald spots from lupus/chemo therapy… but now that my hair is grown back…I want to wear my own hair more… or get braids or something. Our hair is beautiful and unique in every way!
I’ve worn wigs once or twice. To tell you the truth mate, I felt so out of place… I’m much more comfortable in my natural hair. I believe if we let our hair be what IT Is, it will flourish. Just be patient, and keep your regimen simple. Cheers!🥂
That's not necessarily true either. My hair was it's longest under wigs because I didn't have to contstantly fix it. I could keep my hair in fuzzy messed up braids and moisturize them. Afros just create tangles and knots that I have to constantly cut off.
I don’t wear wigs but would straighten my hair everyday and I realized there was a deeper issues when my main excuse was “I don’t feel pretty with natural hair” it has helped that I’m learning to properly take care of it and finding new cute hairstyles ❤ I love this video

I wore wigs when I was out working and what not but I recently entered being a SAHM era and have just been wearing my fro out more….noticed blk women more so looking at me like wow you really doing that😵💫but honestly I don’t care I feel beautiful my man likes it and I saved time and money
Protecting your hair shouldn't mean concealing it. I wear mini twists to grow out my hair and surprisingly it even grows more than when I would wear braids or any other protective style
Up to you though. I used to wear them because it was easy to just throw it on under my small braids (short hair). I think the need to wear the long silky ones may show something else going on.
So from about 16 to 30 I wore weaves, braids/twists with weave, and wigs more than my own hair. When my natural hair was out I would have a lot of anxiety, I’d feel ugly, and unlike myself until I got my next hairstyle. For most of my adulthood I have kept my 4c hair cut short for quick maintenance and easy wig wearing. I believe the relationship many black women have to our hair is a form of body dysmorphia. There’s no reason I should feel ugly and unlike myself with the hair that grows naturally from my head. That is normal or healthy. Long story short, I have locs now and I have never felt this free. The kinkier the hair the more it flourishes in locs. I recommend the loc’d life for anyone struggling to love their 4c hair.
I like this. Yes, we all should love ourselves however god created us. 💯. Imagine beautiful black with her magnificent mane. There's just something powerful about it. Women should take care of their natural hair and flaunt it. ❤
What I don’t understand is that a lot of people think my hair is a wig. But it’s not. I am not sure what I would do if I had to wear a wig. I’ve tried to wear a wig before. With all the money and time spent I had to take it off.
Yes wigs are not protective AT ALL. I regret wearing wigs constantly because my hairline was thinning out really bad over time but eventually it grew back when I completely stopped wearing them. SMH the damage could’ve been permanent!! Please stay away from them!
I love this, I’m no longer subscribing to the straight hair aesthetic. Everyone looks like clones , they’re not attractive and it is dangerous because of all of the carcinogens, additives , and flame retardance that cause fibroids and cancers . In the bottom line is It kind of just comes off as having low self-esteem.
I agree with you. I have worn wigs. I stopped, wearing wigs.Natural hair is so beautiful . We got to stop allowing others to define our beauty standards. We are so beautiful. Natural wear is the way to go !! Great video!!
Black women look prettier in our natural textured hair anyways..😍 Straight hair is fun and easy. But our natural hair, babe babyyy... ETHEREAL. When a black women wears her afro. It's serving, ethereal, It's giving royalty. Nothing can beat our hair🌟
If you need a wig, have it look like your own hair💁🏾. However I feel like all the added hair gives us hair dysmorphia. BW have a distorted idea of how much hair is on a typical head , how thick a braid actually is, because of all the "added" hair hairstyles...
I so agree! I think wigs are so damaging to the hair and the persons image. We and are natural hair are absolutely beautiful! We just need more of us representing it loud and proud.
Only wearing wigs that looks like the hair of Caucasian women is self hate period. If it’s not, then why not wear wigs that look like your natural Afro textured hair 🤔
100% some internalised hatred I’m half African and my fully African cousins that are 9 and 10 telling me that they hate their hair broke my heart their mother has made them think that their hair is a problem she has worn wigs my whole life
@@thisiswhoiam102 yes I see them regularly I teach them that they are beautiful and so is their hair, looking different isn’t wrong and anyone that tells you that it is wrong doesen’t love themselves because if they did they would learn to love others regardless of how they look. The mother doesn’t help she has her own insecurities and it’s filtering down to them
I mean technically the hair comes from other women of color. So we are mimicking the hair Indian women. Also you can find black ppl with naturally straight hair. I do agree that we need to embrace the Afro wigs.
it is true, a lot of people who wear wigs do not have well cared for hair. You are correct, wearing natural hair is more of a personal thing - self acceptance. Thanks for the video, and do not mind the negative comments that may come from people who may not have accepted the truth about how they continue to do injustive to their own identity. We need to keep on poking this truth until all blalcks learn to embraces themselves at all angles.
My aunt is a wig wearer with see through ends but refuses to cut it because it's waist length. I remember when the natural movement became popular. The TH-camrs that were more popular had long 3a or 3b hair. When people went natural and their hair isn't the same textures they complain and through wigs on.
I’m a darker skinned, unapologetic Black woman who at the age 57 young, am loving my big lips, round high bottom and broad nose. I wore wigs and relaxed my hair when I worked in corporate, but now living as a Nomad I love my long natural greying hair. The attraction and compliments from non-black men isn’t surprising. I like many Black girls are taught prune ourselves solely for the Black guise only to be ridiculed, just as I was and have been. Now, I present myself with my God’s given assets and I’m so content with me 😊
This is such a positive message I love it ! Your natural hair needs to be taken care of not with wigs and straightening your hair is like a flower it needs to breath and be nurtured! Forget society and beauty standards love yourself always !
I stopped wearing wigs and trimmed my natural hair and dyed it, and its growing out so beautifully. Right now it is in braids, but i have left my natural hair out for a while now. When i first sat there in the hairdresser, i didn't leave for almost an hour😂😂 that in itself made me realise how disconnected i was from my own natural hair. It felt alien to me, which is so strange considering it IS my natural hair lol. I took myself to westfields for a lovely meal and looked in the mirror and literally said WOW, i look stunning. I dyed it a reddish/brown and for the first time i was able to see my curl pattern, my facial features stood out. It was a beautiful moment. I definitely think the protective styles are an excuse and many will never admit the hatred that they have for their actual hair. We are not indian, brazilian etc etc so it makes absolutely no sense to wear another womans hair texture and glue it to your scalp. Right now, i am in South Sudan which is where i am from and women rock their natural hair all the time and they look gorgeous, so it really encourages me to embrace my own. You are wise, but one thing i will add, is please refrain from using the term sub saharan as it is a term created by eurasians which is racially motivated in an attempt to separate indigenous africans and claim parts of the continent for eurasians ie North Africa/Egypt.
I wear them now because I have arthritis in my hands. I don’t wear them all the time but I wear them in between styles. My hair is also graying and I refuse to color my hair so wigs provide the options to wear my hair in black. Oh I love myself and I always wear kinky styles. My hair is kinky and I love being a black woman.
I’m so happy I found your channel. I’m trying to get out of wearing wigs and using them as a crutch . I honestly wish I never tried them out of fear of being talking about from peers . It is definitely a process
I love this topic and I love this video. I have been trying to stop wearing wigs. But I am an African, black with 4c hair in china living in a small rural area. Doing hair here is not easy. There’s is not a lot of black people here and I can’t do my own hair. Sending love. We need to talk about this more. ❤
Omg I never seen something so horrifying, pulling the wigs off. I have a few different colors but just for when i dont have time to style my natural hair, or i just to wear a different shade. Recently i wore my natural hair out n it was looking very nice, its coming along n im taking better care if it. Thanks for sharing ☺️
Yes!! So true. I think to wear one OCCASIONALLY without glue for a fashion statement could be ok, but the standard needs to embrace the beauty of type 4 and it IS beautiful ❤
Don't forget the wig cap, wig glue, glue spray and other supplies associated with a wig. The gag is the WHOLE WORLD wants to be like Us. Everything the man and women does (espically the American Black man and woman) the entire world emulates. ❤❤❤
Yes. So many blk girls and women complain about natural hair is too expensive but ONE wig is like $300. You could buy SOO much natural hair products with that money (combs, shampoo, conditioner, gel, spray bottle, moisturizer, herbs, oils, bonnet, silk pillowcase, hair jewelry, trimming scissors, etc) And you don’t even technically need all that. Just a good routine, decent products and patience. They just don’t think it’s worth the investment. We’d rather tear up our edges, ruin our hair, and throw off our scalp health for a bad wig. That nobody believes looks good or natural. If it looks good I’ll be like “wow, she knows how to put on a good wig” or “that wig looks good quality”. Not believing that THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR wig is a genuine expression of your good health. Idk 🤷🏽♀️
My hair is like 5:41. It cost $25/month to maintain and 5 min to style which just includes brushing . I get the same amount of compliments i did when i wore wigs
I get ur point but why are black women always criticized? We can’t do anything without it being a topic. I feel like people like different looks. Wear ur hair the way u want ladies
@ChocolateSquadChannel Thanks for doing this video topic. I detest bloody weaves/wigs and l hate (yes, you heard me right, mate) skin bleachers in the BBC as well. Keep up the good work. I am binge watching your videos, right now.
Our people forgot about extensions, we can just put on extensions that match our hair texture so the hair grows while we're in our short phase.. and eventually your hair will be just as long as a weave/wig anyways! its low maintenance and plus it cant fall out or get pulled off and embarrass you the way a wig can.. we can braid/twist/afro our natural hair out and add however many inches we want, then our hair will grow to be the same size some day.
Guuuuuuaooorllll. I’ve been saying this in my head since I first heard this wig as a protective style notion. Like how can something sewed into or sitting on top of your scalp, scalp can’t even breath, be protective? Then what are you protecting it from, and what are you protecting your hair for? Like when is the day your protection pays off if all you do is wear wigs and never wear your hair out? Like what is the point of eternally protecting something, like just shave your head and let your scalp have a moment if you don’t plan to wear your own hair. I try not to put myself in these convos too much, bc ok my hair is long, and in mixed race, but my hair is still very thick and curly in its natural state so I feel like I could go the wig route, I just would never for so many reasons; as listed here
If i wore hair that not mine and i have, its cost is the least 300$ if its not too long, for long ive used up to 600$ hair mind you i only apply to bottom half of head because i buy hair that looks like mine and since my own hair is fine i dont wear in for long and still i seen damage so i dont enjoy wigs or the damage in my hair. I cannot think that i would leave my own hair unwashed and un loved for weeks and months over a wig. This is something that with my own eyes i see give a fake confidence and steal your real one😢. Now i love how i look but ima need others to do the same about themselves beauty is in the eye and real had always had to have a better stance than fake and lies. Those where some beautiful girls in this video❤
I decided to take a wig break this summer because I always never feel beautiful with my natural hair or with a simple natural style like braids. I have 4c hair and I used to feel like I needed a straight long wig to feel beautiful
This video is everything..I've haven't worn a wig or fake hair in over 10yrs..I love my waist length locs and will never go back to wigs..fake hair..relaxer..etc again 😊 #NewSubbie
I have waist length locs and love wearing wigs. Mostly because I love seeing how different and versatile I can be. I look at them as hats..an accessory for the occasion. Most mimic my natural hair when it’s loose. Sometimes I like revisiting styles I wore before I loc’d (2011) I love Hollywood & deep wave styles. I agree with you. There’s a difference between having fun and hiding from yourself. I know some black women who haven’t seen their natural hair in decades. That makes me sad. I love seeing little girls with locs and they love seeing me (especially little dark skinned girls).
I think you're the exception to the rule cus a lot of our women make the same argument that, they just wanna be versatile but unlike you they don't have long, waist length hair and they actually just hate their short hair and are embarrassed of it.
@@kayots agreed. I know women who don’t know what their natural texture is because they hide and think it’s “unpolished”. I see this a lot with older black women. I live in Atl which is a Mecca for natural hair and a large black major city so it’s more socially acceptable to be proud and natural I guess? There are large expos every year. I am seeing more of the wig influencer girlies pushing glueless wigs and hair care for their curls underneath for the girlies who can’t let the wigs go. Black hair is political and unfortunately not all black women have the privilege of proudly rocking their crown without it negatively impacting their livelihood in some way. Code switching is a thing for a reason but more black women are learning how to embrace their natural beauty loudly and proudly.
Howwwww????? I have a little past bra strap length locs and when I try a wig they look like a helmet. I haven’t worn a wig since 2020 but sometimes I want to to see myself look different. You only can do so many styles with locs.
I want to wear kinky wigs because I miss my hair before locs sometimes but I’m never cutting my locs…. Ever. Had to add that disclaimer because I’m against repping another woman’s beauty standard for me personally
i used to hate my hair but honestly wigs aren’t for me. my head is big and my hair is think so it just hurt. i just stick to kinky twist or spring twist
My aunt went completely bald wearing wigs. I love her but she is a very lazy lady. She never liked doing her hair. When she stopped wearing wigs it all grew back and now she went bald again wearing wigs….AGAIN. 🤷🏿♂️
A lot of people are unwilling to go through the ugly(awkward) phase of hair growth so they use braids and wigs and are adamant that they're protective even if their hair doesn't grow and/or is still damaged. No one ever wants to be ugly, so imagine thinking you're ugly and then trying to leave the house with hair in an awkward growth stage. we've (especially women ofc) have been socialized to hold our own and others' outward beauty to such a high lvl importance and it holds literally everyone back.
True and if we are being honest, the belief that our hair has "ugly phases" is made up and colonial. When WW cut their hair and grow it out, nobody calls it ugly during the hair growth process. Because it isn't. And neither is ours. :)
If it looks ugly in it's short phase why would you wear it? Some jobs require a certain look. And some people want to look nice when they go out. Hair is not a morality issue. I don't mind natural hair but I can't stand all the morality surrounding black women's hair so many other races have extensions because they may have thinner hair, they go from blonde to black, to red and no one is lecturing them. Being black feels too restricting at times.
@@thewordsmith5440other races wear their hair texture that is natural for them to be born with for one that’s why nobody goes after them. The problem is non-textured wigs being put on a pedestal by BW. You can be professional with the hair texture that is natural to you. There’s whole channels of mixed race women with type 3 hair saying that dark skinned black women with type 4 hair want to be them so bad because of DSBW wearing hair that’s not natural to them. Let’s be proud of what we’ve got and wear it in every space we occupy because we should be ourselves.
Self haters should really not be in the comment section infecting us with their self hate and woe is me stories. Go watch the wig channels and leave us alone. This is not the content for you keep it moving. 😢
I personally don't give a damn about showing off blackness. I'm just personally bored again of wigs and frankly a bit tired of them now. I don't see how women don't get tired of wearing wigs (especially) and sewn in weaves, but also how can people really expect black and biracial women who have gotten a ton of surgery on their faces and bodies (especially) to embrace their REAL hair??!! Of course they will be more prone to wearing FAKE hair, all the time. Especially if they have type '4' hair and for the record ALOT of white women wear wigs and weaves. You just can't tell or don't expect it but like you mentioned, they wear THEIR white hair texture or something very close to it. I never really understood how black girls try to attack white women for wearing braids or afros and call it appropriation while donning a straight or wavy red, blonde, golden or even blue wig. Please make it make sense!! If you are free to wear blue contacts and blonde hair then Kim Kardashian and all the rest of them are free to rock braids and afros. Its the same to me except white Women do it because its cool, unique and trendy and black women do it (for the most part) because they hate their hair (or strongly dislike it) and non-European features.
The fact that you can't tell when WW wear wigs is very telling. You can tell that they wear wigs of their same hair texture, but black women widely wear wigs and weaves of a looser or straight texture. Do you realise that by wearing their hair over our own, we are putting them on a pedestal?
@@ChocolateSquadChannel. Surprisingly as a proud wig wearer I do agree with a lot of what you said. Wasn't offended by anything. However I do think what you were said, is the Rule and not the exception. There are people who wear a lot of wigs but truly love and take care of their hair. The only real problem I have with my natural hair is I can't keep my hands out of it because I love the way it feels and having it.
@@ChocolateSquadChannel. I Love all hair that is full natural voluminous shiny and healthy but I do think its very very important to take care of your natural hair and expose it as well. I'm all about honoring, loving and being grateful for the NATURAL (coarse, curly) hair that grows out of your head. So for me I'm never putting any woman on the planet above me.
I think it irks some black women because when they wear braids, it is ghetto but when white people wear it, suddenly everything is cute and trendy. Also, red or blonde hair is not exclusive to white people. My grandmother was a natural red head despite being a monoracial black woman. It is a rare trait that can happen to anyone. We also have to keep in mind that black women are criticized for weaves even when it does match their texture. People bring up hair type as an excuse to justify the double standard.

You know what I’m with this guy that told me that he doesn’t like my curl pattern and he likes Spanish woman curls, they have better curls. I don’t like that. I actually love my 4c.💜 and this sucks that we live in the world that we can’t even get accepted by our hair in our complexion of our skin and then we have our own race of men telling us that we’re not beautiful. It’s just so sad. I wish I could just leave this fucking planet and go somewhere else where, I’m accepted by people who actually like me for who I am.😢😢
I'm not about to tell you what to do because I understand that it's not my life BUT if someone I was with was praising another group of women's features over my own, he would be single so fast.
He has told you what he wants ( them) and like. He has told you what he does not like( you)! What ever do you need with this person in your life, dear?
As a black woman of a particular age, (70). I don't apologize for wearing wigs occasionally. I have been around long enough to know what works for me. To each his own. Don't judge!!!!
I wear wigs cause I cut all my hair off and it helps with the growth. I don’t glue mine on to keep my edges. Also with wigs at least you can reuse them. When my hair grows to bra strap length I’ll wear it out more
@@marieballzzzaww girlie, showcase that twa! The people treating you badly for short hair need to go take it up to their maker. That’s a them problem, your confidence sets the standard ✨
I have tried kinky clip ins and faux puffs. Those work too. While in school I wore my short wig and it came in handy for school. My short hair was braided underneath and it helped me back in the day.
As a fellow Black Woman, I don’t have a problem with our fellow Sistahs wearing wigs. I DO have a problem when said wigs are european hair and NOT our own natural hair texture that’s 4C. THAT’S what pisses me off frfr.
While there might be a problem accepting natural Black features, the problem did NOT start with Black self-hate....with other groups then jumping on the bandwagon. No. Disliking our dark skin, Sub-Saharan facial features and type 4B/4C hair began with white supremacy and its othering, which some Blacks unfortunately internalized. Thankfully, there are countless Black women who are loving and embracing their God-given beauty.
I do agree with some of these sentiments yes. Unfortunately, Black women are going to be ridiculed for the hair, whether it’s natural or they are wearing a wig. And a majority of the natural hair community is filled with pretentious people who have looser hair textures that can afford that experience (not everyone of course), Biracial or mono-racial. Just think, Ice Spice can wear her natural hair and not face any criticism, but if a mono-racial black woman were to do the same she would face scrutiny unfortunately so it’s just frustrating and disheartening. It’s like black women can’t win, so I see your point but I also see theirs as well. Thank you for the video, it did allow me to see a different insight.
This might be a bit of a weird reply, but I'm an artist, and I absolutely adore features like darker/ashy skin on joints. It makes the skin look unique and have more contrast/interesting features to look at. I personally think it is very beautiful and enhances skincolor and bodyshape. Even skin often looks a little boring and dull. This might not help your situation, and I totally understand being unhappy with body features. It is a very normal, human thing. But I wanted to share anyways.
why don't u stop seeing what she is saying as a personal attack and listen... she is talking about most black ppl no one said earnestinetinaakbar2902 doesn't like all 3
Nah she’s preaching, what black women do with their hair affects how little black girls view themselves. Always seeing your mother, auntie, older sisters and cousins in wigs all the time sends a message.
^^^^Exactly!! This is psychological. Hair dysmorphia is a real thing. And instead of facing it, many will simply turn and cry about us “policing” black women. The time for radical acceptance is now. The moment folks started putting full lace front wigs on TODDLERS…..it’s gone too far
Honestly the more people complain about wigs, especially the straight ones, the more I want to wear it. I may throw in some blue contacts for good measure. I'm at the point where if I have kids, they will always see me in wigs. I have 3 nieces and they see me in wigs all the time and even ask me if they can try then on. I have worn afro textured wigs and my own natural hair on occasion but now I wear it less and less often. I don't like the militant attitude around natural hair. I don't like how it is politicized. I wish I can wear my hair out and it is just another day, rather than some big deal or movement. I don't like the way they are going about doing things and I don't want to give the natural community a point for their scoreboard
I’m so tired of this conversation. Let people do them and you do you! You can not control what makes some one else feel good or what is manageable for them. Just because someone wears a wig doesn’t mean anything about their blackness it’s pure cosmetics and cosmetics can change daily.

I believe we are our most attractive with our textured hair,
wigs & weaves (if you prefer them.)
I don't believe textured hair is a curse BUT A BLESSING!!!

Right? I agree wholeheartedly
That straight hair mess ain't it. It looks horrible and masculine when BW wear straight hair wigs. It looks lflat and sticking to the scalp. I think big and full hair is beyond sexy, classy and attractive.

I agree that added hair does not protect your hair. The hair is growing, but as soon as you remove it the hair starts to break from dryness and it destroys your edges. I would much rather wear my own hair regardless of length and texture. FYI, I love my natural 4b/4c hair.
People tend to neglect their hair while it's in these styles. It's really sad!
The coil, kink, curl, and wave of our hair REPRESENTS every tribe in Africa! WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IRREFUTABLY BEAUTIFUL!
Agreed! :)
Absolutely 🎉🎉🎉

When an African woman walks into room with natural hair, the room is electrified. I make it a point to always compliment her. It makes me proud. People be hatin and want us to hate ourselves.✊🏿
I’m at the age 29 and I’m starting to just not like my wigs anymore…. I did start wearing them when I was 19 because I would get bald spots from lupus/chemo therapy… but now that my hair is grown back…I want to wear my own hair more… or get braids or something. Our hair is beautiful and unique in every way!
AHH I LOVE THIS FOR YOU ❤️
@@ChocolateSquadChannel 🥰❤️❤️🤗
I’ve worn wigs once or twice. To tell you the truth mate, I felt so out of place… I’m much more comfortable in my natural hair. I believe if we let our hair be what IT Is, it will flourish. Just be patient, and keep your regimen simple. Cheers!🥂
Absolutely!!
That's not necessarily true either. My hair was it's longest under wigs because I didn't have to contstantly fix it. I could keep my hair in fuzzy messed up braids and moisturize them. Afros just create tangles and knots that I have to constantly cut off.
I had the same experience! Been natural for 11 years 🎉 coily all day everyday for every occasion. This is how I feel good!

That's great :)
Imo natural is prettier. Don't let anyone make fun of you for it
Protecting your hair shouldn't mean concealing it. I wear mini twists to grow out my hair and surprisingly it even grows more than when I would wear braids or any other protective style
Omg same! When it's exam season my hair LIVES in mini twists (I moisture them of course). :)
Up to you though. I used to wear them because it was easy to just throw it on under my small braids (short hair). I think the need to wear the long silky ones may show something else going on.
THIS!
When I want to rest and put my hair away, I wear headwraps with a satin scarf underneath...
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
What I don’t understand is that a lot of people think my hair is a wig. But it’s not. I am not sure what I would do if I had to wear a wig. I’ve tried to wear a wig before. With all the money and time spent I had to take it off.
That's rude of them to just assume you are wearing a wig. Even if you were, it's not their concern.
I’m only 10 seconds in but based on the title, you deserve your flowers 💐⭐️ We ALL need to wake up!!!
Thank you for watching!
Yes wigs are not protective AT ALL. I regret wearing wigs constantly because my hairline was thinning out really bad over time but eventually it grew back when I completely stopped wearing them. SMH the damage could’ve been permanent!! Please stay away from them!
I'm so glad it grew back!! :)
Exactly! I think people look better with what they are born with! :)
Yess!! I see so many people who were serial wig wearers come out about the hair dysmorphia that they had. So sad. :(
Only wearing wigs that looks like the hair of Caucasian women is self hate period. If it’s not, then why not wear wigs that look like your natural Afro textured hair 🤔
I agree. We need to stop allowing others to define our beauty standards. It's a form of self-hatred.
100% some internalised hatred I’m half African and my fully African cousins that are 9 and 10 telling me that they hate their hair broke my heart their mother has made them think that their hair is a problem she has worn wigs my whole life
Have you seen them ?
Please live long and, stay strong and prosper, young woman!
Now, I present myself with my God’s given assets and I’m so content with me 😊
I can't wait until I get older and my hair starts greying! It looks so beautiful on you guys
OMG I BET YOU ARE SO GORGEOUS!! South Sudanese women are soo beautiful!

I wear them now because I have arthritis in my hands. I don’t wear them all the time but I wear them in between styles. My hair is also graying and I refuse to color my hair so wigs provide the options to wear my hair in black. Oh I love myself and I always wear kinky styles. Yes. So many blk girls and women complain about natural hair is too expensive but ONE wig is like $300. You could buy SOO much natural hair products with that money (combs, shampoo, conditioner, gel, spray bottle, moisturizer, herbs, oils, bonnet, silk pillowcase, hair jewelry, trimming scissors, etc)
And you don’t even technically need all that.

Ahh thank you so much! I might make a video about skin bleaching! I've seen some really horrifying videos. :(
Our people forgot about extensions, we can just put on extensions that match our hair texture so the hair grows while we're in our short phase.. and eventually your hair will be just as long as a weave/wig anyways! its low maintenance and plus it cant fall out or get pulled off and embarrass you the way a wig can.. we can braid/twist/afro our natural hair out and add however many inches we want, then our hair will grow to be the same size some day.
I try not to put myself in these convos too much, bc ok my hair is long, and in mixed race, but my hair is still very thick and curly in its natural state so I feel like I could go the wig route, I just would never for so many reasons; as listed here
Good commentary. I'm pleased your channel showed up in my recommendations.

@@ChocolateSquadChannel You're welcome.
Wow that's really sad :(
I think you're the exception to the rule cus a lot of our women make the same argument that, they just wanna be versatile but unlike you they don't have long, waist length hair and they actually just hate their short hair and are embarrassed of it.

It’s not an ugly phase it’s an awkward phase can we stop attaching anything about us to that word. We are beautiful period!!!!!!!!
@@funmi5653 not everything has to be pretty, it just has to be what it is.

Agreed, period!! 💯💯
I love these videos.

I cant learn to self love my ashy elbows

This might be a bit of a weird reply, but I'm an artist, and I absolutely adore features like darker/ashy skin on joints. It makes the skin look unique and have more contrast/interesting features to look at. I personally think it is very beautiful and enhances skincolor and bodyshape. Even skin often looks a little boring and dull.
This might not help your situation, and I totally understand being unhappy with body features. It is a very normal, human thing. But I wanted to share anyways.

Why we, as women, should stop telling other women what to do with THEIR hair. I can't believe we are STILL doing this in 2024!
Ugh I've seen that, its so damaging :(
Why are we as black women, not loving our selves more
Honestly the more people complain about wigs, especially the straight ones, the more I want to wear it.
I only buy black hair products made by black people Mielle is great and they have all hair textures available ❤
I think mielle has been sold to a white company.
😭they did-Myowa made a whole video abt it
I’m so tired of this conversation. Let people do them and you do you! You can not control what makes some one else feel good or what is manageable for them. Just because someone wears a wig doesn’t mean anything about their blackness it’s pure cosmetics and cosmetics can change daily.
