@@lukeparfumsHey Luke! It arrived, and YES I like it. It reminds me on the opening of Halston, but a bit sweeter. But my nose is not as sensitive as some. 😊
@@lukeparfums My videos are pretty lame. Lol. I enjoy doing them, and would like to be more consistent just because I like making them. But life always seems to get in my way. 🤪
I totally agree w/ your view of Cabochard; I have a bottle I recently acquired and my love of vintage doesn't attache itself to this one as it does to most others. Perhaps the leather is too animalic for me (wow, I can hear the fireworks in the background). I wore Chamade today, if you can, get a bottle. Once it settles into a skin scent; it is a masterpiece. Another great video! Happy New Year, Luke 🎆🎇.
Hi there, and Happy New Year! 🎉 I usually draw the line at strong tobacco/ashtray scents when it comes to vintage fragrances. For you, it must be the leather note. I'm surprised that a robust vintage-style scent like Cabochard was so accurately recreated in 2019, given all the IFRA regulations and restrictions. I've tried Chamade. It's such a stunning green floral scent. Thanks for watching!🙂
Happy New Year beautiful beautiful Luke💖 Personally i adore Cabochard, i own the EdT and the Edp. Maybe you'll find the Edt more 'wearable'. They're so cheap in The Netherlands so i got them both about a year and a half ago and am so happy with them. As soon as summer ends i crave my Chypre perfumes. Cabochard and Jean Louis Sherrer (1???) are a bit similar and i love both of them. I own Diamonds and Rubies and its smells like Grojsman stole her own Tresor recipe and used it for D&R. I still love it though, it starts of as fabric softener and smells like a watered down Tresor in the dry down. I still want White Diamonds because i love vintage smelling perfumes. I think i want to try the AA vanilla, sounds like an amazing vanilla.
Hi there and Happy New Year!🎉🌟. I really like Cabochard a lot. I smell almost no tobacco in the drydown, only a luxurious blend of leather, sandalwood, and oakmoss, which is fantastic. I’m not the biggest fan of tobacco/ashtray drydowns. I’ll give the EdT a try. I used to have Diamonds and Rubies at one point. It smelt a lot like Trésor, but I couldn’t get past the potpourri association. I much prefer White Diamonds and Diamonds & Emeralds; haven’t tried Sapphires. You’re exactly right. She discovered the Grojsman accord and incorporated it into many of her subsequent creations. That’s why they all feel like a different take on Trésor.
@@lukeparfums I absolutely love an ashtray accord in perfumes. I dont know why because i dont smoke and i dont like to be around a smoker but in perfumes i dont seem to mind. The Edt is almost the same as the Edp but there's something slightly floral about it, i dont know, its a bit less maculine i guess. My latest purchase is the Youth Dew bath oil, i use it as a perfume oil. I bought it because the Edp doesnt last at all on me😢. I'm so sad because the bath oil doesnt last on me either....I really dont understand why people keep saying its a powerhouse, while on me it turns into a skin scent within an hour. So sad because i love it so much
I have perfumes with a faint ashtray accord (like Magie Noire), and it doesn’t bother me, but I can’t handle a strong tobacco note. I don’t think there’s any tobacco in the new version of Cabochard. Oh, no. There’s nothing worse than when a fragrance you love doesn’t last. Do you own a newer batch of Youth Dew? Mine lasts almost eternally. I’ve wanted to get the Youth Dew bath oil for years, but it seems to be out of stock every time I check. Thank you for this. I’ll make sure to try the oil first.
@@lukeparfums yes i have a newer batch of Youth Dew. Maybe its just my skin, i dont know. You should get the oil its so much richer and warmer then the spray. Its incredible!Dont mind me, maybe its just my skin or me destroying my nose because i'm an oversrayer😳
I’ll keep that in mind, thanks. I think it must be your skin chemistry. I also enjoy overspraying, though not as much as I used to. I usually do around 4-6 sprays of Youth Dew or Cinnabar which I recently purchased. Have you tried Cinnabar? It might be what you’re looking for, as it’s similar to Youth Dew. It’s incredibly long-lasting on me, and the sillage is crazy. I made the mistake of spraying it three times before a half-hour car ride and ended up choking out my fellow passenger.
How did I miss this video???😳 I’m not sure I would like Cabochard. I’m not sure about the herbs…..But I’m always open to trying 😊 Alyssa Ashley Vanilla sounds Devine. I want to try Casmir also😊
Maybe the thumbnail didn’t catch your eye. Cabochard is a very challenging scent so it’s hard to say… Think of it as Knowing or Aromatics Elixir with added leather, and lots of it. Not a safe blind buy. AA Vanilla and Casmir are gorgeous!🙂
I recently purchased Cabochard, but it has not arrived yet. I was a little afraid to order it because I am not a great lover of chypres, although I do adore the original Miss Dior and Paloma Picasso. I have a much more difficult time with fragrances like Knowing which are just overpowering to me. I have Diamonds and Emeralds, and I like it well enough. It is pleasant. I have never heard of Vanilla. Making a mental note to test it should I run across it. Re body sprays, I believe there are some outstanding ones out there that do not smell cheap and super synthetic. I am thinking in particular of B&BW Sensual Amber; Cashmere Glow; Dark Kiss; Twilight Woods; Black Amethyst; and You Are the One.
Hi there. I’d say the two chypres you mentioned are more challenging than Cabochard. I hope you like Cabochard. Actually, I wore it last week. The opening is challenging but the dry down was stunning, worth the wait. Thanks for watching!🙂
@@lukeparfums Is it not funny how different people perceive a fragrance? A perfume that may be challenging to some wearers is not challenging to others. I always found Miss Dior (original) to be one of the easiest and most feminine fragrances available. L' Air du Temps is another one that is very feminine, beautiful, and very easy to wear (although I believe it is categorised as a floral woody). However, I can see how someone new to fragrance might find Paloma Picasso challenging. It is a gorgeous fragrance, though. I have had more trouble with Estee Lauder chypres, e.g. Knowing, Azuree, etc. Although not a chypre, White Linen and its flankers make me feel physically ill just to be in the same room with someone who wears them. I really look forward to receiving Cabchard, though, and I hope I love it. I love vintage fragrances.
It’s fascinating. Everyone perceives a certain fragrance differently. Funny that you mentioned Miss Dior. It was my grandma’s fragrance. To my nose, it’s a rich green chypre with a pungent base. I find it more challenging than Knowing for example. Paloma Picasso is the most animalic fragrance I’ve ever tried. I agree; I don’t think it’s mass-appealing. So many people say that about White Linen. I like it a lot. But I can see why it could easily overwhelm someone. It’s nuclear! To be honest, I rarely reach for it. I rarely want to smell like an overdose of rose scented soap and aldehydes.
Wishing you a happy New Year 🎉. Lovely haul. I have the tall edt version of Cabochard; I love the opening and middle but last time i wore it it became a cigarette bomb in the drydown. I need to revisit now that it's colder. I love original Miss Dior.
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too!🌟🎉 You have the original version. I don't detect any cigarette/tobacco/ashtray smell with the 2019 version. Thanks for watching!🙂
Hi there. Yes, not sure whether they still make it but it was very similar to other 90s vanillas like Chopard Casmir (love it). Alyssa Ashley Vanilla is more of a pure vanilla scent. Just vanilla, no florals. But I tend to really like vanilla scents from the 90s. Coty Vanilla Fields.. another great one.
