Wow what a fish. Congrats. Doesn't matter what others would have done, it was your fish, your choice, explanation not needed. We all know you are an ethical fisherman, and release pretty much 100% of the fish you catch. Thanks for the great videos. Enjoy your fish of a lifetime.
Nice fish. Nice video. Liked. I've caught lots of bluegill. One time I was fishing at a little pond and caught two or three big catfish. Keep up the great fishing. From Jordan
Ive always had a thing for big panfish and this is a tank. I know Lake Havasu is known for monsters, i believe the world record has been broken there twice in the last 5 years for red ear, clocking in at over 6lbs. You got yourself a tank there Ty, more than worthy of a mount. I really appreciate ya measuring the fish to put it in perspective. I thought it was gunna be 13" or more. But 15" panfish is crazy. What a whopper.
@TyPigPatrol being from the midwest, that is hard to imagine, that's as long as the world record. Crazy! Thanks and congrats again on the slob. Looking forward to the next one!
Dude your crazy thumbnails always pull me in! LOL The life that fish must have had so far! That water is gorgeous. BTW What area of Texas are from? I'm in Itasca, near Hillsboro, TX
I'm here in Arizona today with the family and we're planning on stopping by Lake Havisu on the way back home. Any good shore bluegills/redear fishing there? Or you recommend renting a Boat? Thanks in advance.
They are so sporadic all over! honestly there really is one place to catch them, they are difficult because many of them spawn in 15 fow and you cant see them
Back in the midwest ive caught a few that would be state records, but due to private water I didnt think it was fair to submit them, and i am not willing to hurt the fish to do it!
Got a secret lake full of these, and crappie, largemouth. Amazing. Only my son knows of it but doesn't remember where..... Secrets...but never kept for a mold, now older , maybe...😊
You should come to Marianna Florida and fish Merrits mill pond. It has been the home of previous record shellcracker or Redear Sunfish. The water is pristine and these monsters are everywhere. As well as huge largemouth bass. Come give it a try.
@@TyPigPatrol Late March to early April is usually the best time to catch them on the spawn. Let me know I will show you around a few more of my favorite places to fish. I enjoy your videos man you have been to some beautiful places and caught monsters!
You should absolutely get a replica of your 3 biggest. Lol I was typing it when you said you were getting it mounted. All of them on a piece of driftwood would look amazing
i meant you did a video where you was looking in a flooded tunnel and you caught around 3-4 fish i think it was catching in extreme flooded tunnel fishing
I have a neighbor who gets his stuff taxed by a fellow in Iowa. You should do a video of all your stuff… you’ve had stuffed. Thanks for another good one.
@@tagg946 there are a couple lakes similar in water quality and probably more food than the desert reservoirs near by me in Appalachia and they never seem to get as big. I’ve caught a couple in the 1-2 range but nothing approaching the size of those western lakes. I’m guessing it has something to do with depth as well. I’m never fishing for Gills in 25’ water.
Dude...i appreciate your catch and release philosophy. I do. But... question...if you are sending this fish out for taxidermy (which i fully support) why would you do a fiberglass replica??? The fish is already dead! I dont understand????
What is happening is the fish will be made into a custom cast, and then it will be a replica of my exact fish. each replica isnt made from scratch, it is made from a fish, turned into a cast using that fish. so this will be a replica of my exact fish, not a replica of a fish someone else caught....does that make sense? there can be no replica without a fish someone caught in the first place.
@@TyPigPatrol my question remains! Why not taxidermy the original fish? I have spent most of my fishing life doing catch and release, but I have had 2 mounted. A 10.5 pound walleye and a 21 pound northern Pike. Neither of them record fish, but both hold memories of fly in fishing with my father and will always fill my heart with love and joy. Guess I just don't understand the decision to do a fiberglass replica instead of a direct mount. If you are taking a photo and releasing the fish, I understand a replica, as this allows for continuation of the fishes genes in the wild, but if the actual fish is harvested I don't get the use of a fiberglass mount??
100 keep that. thats a fish of a 1000 peoples life times. awesome catch!!! been fishing all my life, since before i could walk i was holding a rod. thats the biggest sunfish ive ever seen
You got a Ton of them cause I've seen you catch some really nice fish and then put them back . I don't even eat fish but I still love the catch them and let them go .
It’s 11. I’m ready to hit the sack. Then I see the title to this video and had to watch. Glad I did. Well Ty, you caught the equivalent of an entire stringer of bluegills that I catch in ONE FISH. Unbelievable!
I would have released it, because plastic mounts are available for fish now. I have a bass mounted on my garage wall that weighed a hair under 14 lbs. and that fish is still swimming out in lake Castaic in southern California 👍 I also have a picture 👌
Since you do this so much and you are so good at it I suggest you get ahold of the taxidermy people who do the work for basspro shops and they can inform you on the proper ways to measure and photograph your fish so you never have to take a trophy away an impoundment again. The big ones are the ones I always turned loose hoping that someone else would catch them while I was there to enjoy them again. But I was never as good a fisherman as you.
where the HECK are YOU! i saw the net and i said why is he using a dang NET until i saw those monsters'! what pound test was that those were hogs! you really go do it mannnnn, never never seen sunfish that dang LARGE!!!
Typigpatrol: were you the catfishing guide that got his Captains license a few years ago? I failed to watch the whole video unfortunately, and so am going to refrain from my intended comment until the confirmation. BTW, …. What an incredible catch…. Were you tempted to use it as bait at your favorite hot spot or at a tournament? I would be tempted…. Maybe, LOL!
I fished a lake when I was a kid that had massive bluegill for one summer only 1, after that summer they disappeared. Every single one we caught was bigger than my dads hand.
Would you have kept the fish for a mount? Or would you have released it?!
Do a skin mount. They are so much cooler. Can't beat a quality skin mount.
I would have either released it or kept it for a skin mount. But that's just me. Awesome fish!!
why not just weigh the fish / get pictures of the fish you catch? Always baffled by fishing youtubers who don't carry a scale.
Fish of a lifetime brother you been fishing for that fish for years it’s ok you kept it bud did the right thing
Weigh it measure it take a pic release it. I don’t need mounts I don’t care about that. I know I caught it that’s all that matters to me.
