    Quickly becoming one of my top favorite radio related youtube channels. Informative but explained in a way a new guy like me can understand.

    Thank you that was cool and no nodes in Huntsville AL. We are setting up two nodes and this helps.

    Another great video KM6LYW! Thanks for putting it together. Have my BPQ node chugging along here in Virginia. Still waiting for Budd and the FE-PI. Should have the mobile digipi going soon enough. Going with a UPS-Lite UPS and got the python script finally doing what it should for automatic power down. Exciting stuff. Please keep it up.

      Thanks for sharing - does Budd have stock? I don't want to overwhelm his supply, but, it's such a great device! How to get the FE-PI AudioZ board: wb7fhc.com www.wb7fhc.com/about-the-fe-pi.html (place an order, put the fe-pi in the comment). Budd, if you're reading this, please let us know the best way to get one of your boards! :)

      @@KM6LYW So Budd just got a small batch in. I put my request in early February so been waiting since but got mine in the hands of USPS. Don't screw this up USPS!!! Ask him if he's got one to sell.....

    This is so cool. Brings back memories. Did I read and see somewhere that a single digipeater or igate can accept both BBS traffic and Winlink messages? I recall seeing something but can not remember where.

    • @KM6LYW
      @KM6LYW  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ahh, yah, infocom. i've done winlink through aprs digipeaters. I'm not sure that's the best use of the frequency, but it's been done!

    So the guy that makes soundmodem also has chess and checkers that can be played over AX.25. I've been really into packet lately as well.

    • @gabriel3714

      Soundmodem by UZ7HO. Yup I've downloaded it and have tried to play it but unsuccessful. Have you had success with actually playing chess/checkers with somebody? Can you play through a digipeater or is it only point to point? I haven't tried point to point since my buddy is outside LOS.

      @@gabriel3714 I haven't actually played it yet but might be able to try this weekend. One problem I've been having is getting my IC-9100 to properly accept modulated sound over the USB. With another radio on the tigertronics device maybe it''ll work if the IC-9100 will just accept the input.

      @@daviddickey9832 Well there is absolutely no documentation I can find on those games so curious if you have any success. I'm trying on VHF so that's why I asked about the feasibility of playing through a packet node since my ham buddy is just outside LOS. Let me know! Thanks

    Loving your project and your videos and I'm definitely going to build the digipi if I can get the hat! I'll give you a shout on github in a few days.
    Is it just me or is packet radio and aprs experiencing a revival at the moment? :-)

    Great stuff, been playing with packet lately as well,. Can't figure out why I'm fascinated with it right now either. Who cares? Over on my channel, I've been messing around with LinPac and LinBPQ. I've got to get HHGTTG going on my node. 73 VA7SHG

      Yeah I've seen most of your videos as well Jim. You're right, I'm fascinated with it as well and I'm convinced it'll get some focus again over the coming years, especially since you guys are taking the time to share your knowledge and it's becoming more accessible to makers. Ive been wanting to play with ax25 and aprs for a while but haven't had much time until recently. I just wish there were nodes near me but I live in a remote area. Still, if I can get a fe-pi, I'll put one up here :-)

    Can you set up a AX.25 node to send spots to the APRS2SOTA gateway?

    • @KM6LYW
      @KM6LYW  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you would just send an APRS message to station "SOTA"? aprs.fi/?c=message&call=SOTA&limit=50

    When you telnet to port 4444, what service is running on that port? Is that uronode directly?

    • @KM6LYW
      @KM6LYW  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes, xinetd forwards 4444 to uronode... a convenient way to test it out without burning RF :)

    I would play TW2002 over AX.25, anyone know a BBS?
