@rocben3003 : In regards to your specific inquiry of removing dents from an Aluminum panel. The Autotron 3300 system does not have enough power to sufficiently heat aluminum for dent removal. A larger induction heater is required. Magnetic attraction does not cause the dent to be removed. Thermal expansion due to induced heate is the mode of dent removal. Aluminum has a specific heat that his double that of steel, therefore requiring double the power for the same mass.

@carbonfibercreations : Yes, both the CO2 and heat can remove a soft dent. Both work by the same mechanism, thermal expansion. The difference in temperature between the worked area and the surrounding panel is what causes the metal to expand at different rates, thus moving the dent. However there is BIG difference between the CO2 and induction heating. The produced by induction relieves the stresses in the dent, thus preventing it from re-appearing.

@intheshitter: Magnetic attraction is not doing the work. The inductor is generating an alternating electromagnetic field that is switching from positive to negative 60,000 times per second. Because it is altenating there is not magnetic attraction that can be felt. The alternating current causes an electrical current to flow in the panel and the current causes the panel to generate heat. The heat causes the panel to expand, forcing the dent out.

@rocben3003 : Induction heating can heat any electrically conductive material, including aluminum. The material does not have to be magnetic for induction to work. There are 2 types of heating that take place with induction heating. 1) Hysteresis heating which only works with magnetic materials, and 2) eddie current heating that will work with any electrically conductive material including molten glass. Specific to your question about removing dents.

This tool is designed to work on soft dents without creases, and away from the edges of panels. It performs great in the large soft flat areas, such as the domes/roofs, bonnets/hoods, boots/trunks and doors.

@carbonfibercreations : The method of using heat to remove soft dents has been used for decades maybe even centuries by metal finishers. The idea is nothing new. Small torches and resistance electrodes are commonly used today. The new twist is our technology that allows heat to be induced into the panel/metal without touching it or without using an open flame.

@rocben3003 : Due to the non-magnetic nature of the aluminum, it only receives the magnetic energy 50% as good as magnetic steel. Further, aluminum is very conductive electrically. Aluminum is 3.5 times more conductive than steel, thus requiring 3.5 times as much current to generate the same energy losses. Factoring in all these conditions, approximately 6 times as much power is required to heat aluminum in the same amount of time it takes to heat steel.

I will not remove the crease, but it will greatly reduce the size of the dent to reduce the amount of labor required to finish the job.
If the vehicle is going to be painted, you can heat the panel to over 1300F, which will move the metal even more. While it is hot, traditional metal shrinking techniques can be used with a shrinking hammer and dolly.

It can be used anywhere there is access to 110 Volt 60Hz or 240 Volt 50Hz power.

Will not completely remove a creased or stretched dent. It will reduce the size, allowing for less pick-work to complete the repair.

You are correct, it will not completely remove a crease, but it will make it lot smaller reducing the amount of labor a PDR tech has to invest to completely repair a dent. It also works great in those areas that you are not supposed to be drilling and plugging in order to gain access to the back of the dent. Visit my channel and take a look at the video posted by allmax69 under my favorite videos. Allmax is a premier PDR equipment dealer in France who has sold many Autotrons for PDR

@adammorrison75 such a rip off lol...i do paintless dent repair for a living and the only way this would work is if the dent was small and perfectly round (the perfect dent) try using this on a crease or body line. Complete rip off and waste of money.
