Chicken Strangler runs lean that way, adding a air filter leans it way more and the O2 sensor freaks and makes it run rich as fuck lol I know because that's where I'm at in the process. on the upside it's better to run rich than lean btw adding the BMC race filter made it run rich and actually back fire less without Sparks.
Most bikes today run closed loop so they are constantly sampling and adjusting the fuel/air ratios. As these were first runs with little or no time for adjustments to happen this is what you tend to get. In the end if you decide to run a race exhaust it is ALWAYS better to either re-flash the ECU or add a piggy back system like Dynojet Power Commander and have the bike actually tuned on a Dynomometer. Downloading R1 maps etc really is not ideal as ever bike is different because of the conditions they were creted in (conditions like ambient temperature, humidity, elevation etc.).
Did you use the smog block off plates too or just the exhaust? I've just bought this exhaust and wondering if I'm going to need the smog plates to get a proper tune..?
The Arrow looks MUCH better than the Akrapovic. I always buy Akrapovic for my bikes, but this time they made an ugly ass pipe. If I get the new R1 then I will be getting the Arrow full system for sure.
darkknight17 all the aftermarket exhausts are ugly when it comes to supersports. the same exhausts look good on other type of bikes but supersports need H2R type of exhaust.
+Panos Tzelepopoulos Kinda he is using auto shift on the r1. So it auto blips the gas and stuff. So basically he doesn't have to use the clutch or release the gas, the bike does it for him if he wants it to.
+Zach Clemens not exactly. it's a quick shifter. it cuts off the ignition to the engine for a split second as you shift so you don't need to close the throttle. (no one ever needs to use the clutch at high rpm on a motorcycle to upshift because they're sequential transmissions meant to be shifted without the clutch). it does not come with an autoblipper for clutchless downshifts. which would blip the throttle to help prevent rear wheel skipping. the bike does have a slipper clutch that also helps with downshifts but rev matching the engine to road speed is a lot easier on the transmission and rear tire

Because the R1 has a crossplane crankshaft (since 2009). The ignition sequence of a 4 cylinder crossplane engine is similar to a V2 engine like ducati. That's the reason why it sounds like a Ducati
