  • In this Star Wars Lads video, Liam explains why the next Star Wars animated TV series should be called The Dark Times. He explains how almost every important Star Wars character from the Prequels and Original Trilogy could make an appearance, and how he would structure the show to tell an effective story that wraps up the story of the clones and the Prequel Trilogy and blends it into what we know the events that lead up to the Original Trilogy and the Rebel Alliance.

My thoughts are: we need ONE more Dark Times show, just to tie up the loose ends left over from Bad Batch. I'm so sick and tired of the Dark Times, and I'm so sick and tired of every show needing to lead into yet another show. Just blasted let the heroes live happily ever after and move on to new stories with new characters! That's why, despite not really enjoying Bad Batch S3, I loved the epilogue because for once I can close the chapter on some characters, happily knowing they lived out their lives in peace. Now, if they want to make a show between 4 and 6 with cameos from Omega and the old Batch, then I would be fine with that, however it's not the same thing. At this point star wars animation feels like it's spinning its wheels because they're afraid to branch out to new eras. Like give us a Ninth Jedi show, an animated New Republic show, a Sith Empire show.

Great concept, I’m already wanting another Star Wars animated show. The Dark Times is a great time period, and would feel like a good connection to previous animated shows. Clone Wars animation style is perfected.

They need to bring back the anthology format that made TCW so wonderful. The Bad Batch suffered from a lack of material, if they had been a recurring subject in an anthology show, this wouldn’t have been the case.

Tales of the dark times?? Love it!

  • @ryho1020

It would be cool to see how Hera and Kanan met in animation

I would certainly be more interested in this than most of the other things they're making.

You make some good points. I haven't yet seen TBB season 3 but it looks like Cody wasn't even in it and Ventress was only in one episode and the events of Dark Disciple were only alluded to, so there certainly are dangling plot threads to pick up. Quinlan Vos didn't get a whole lot of story during this era in Legends either so giving him stuff here and maybe having him and Ventress be the ones to start the hidden path in Kenobi would be cool. Plus if the clone rebellion didn't happen in that show as I've heard no mention of that in discussion about TBB S3 I would love to see that as a way to cap off the clones' story, especially since I think that going horribly and Cody getting killed in the process would be a great way to explain how Rex gets from where he is in TBB to where he is in Rebels. And I thought the way Barriss' story was continued in Tales of the Empire was abysmal so maybe her character could be marginally improved. And a Starkiller-focused longer arc involving Rahm Kota would be cool, though I wasn't a fan of the idea of Starkiller starting the Rebellion as part of some overcomplicated nonsensical plot by Sidious in TFU. The Inquisitors could finally get a chance to be cool for once rather than being a joke like they were for most of SW Rebels, and we could get a deeper look at the politics of the Empire since that was done so well in Andor for the later-era Empire (provided it's done well, of course). And Omega herself could be set up to show up in a post-ROTJ book or show. This kind of show would also give a chance to get into some darker and grittier storytelling, this is the dark times after all, I'm of the opinion that the Rebellion's accomplishment is a lot more satisfying the darker this era gets. The Empire should feel overwhelming and oppressive like it was in Andor.

  • @blue_wolfproductions12

Ngl. I really don't want anymore material for the post Episode 3 and pre Episode 4 era. Sick of it now. Give us Old Republic. Something new. Anything new. But no more Imperial Era stuff

  • @TheRealryan269

what we actually need is a reboot imo
