I only ever lost one manuscript (not stolen) entitled The Doris Chronicles. Denny Russo or Adam Chafetz, if you have them, I need them. Is Doris still alive?
Several years ago, I left a notebook of poems and lyrics in a motel in Mountain View, Missouri. Someday, I will be sued for plagiarism by a poetic ingenue, and I will be ridiculed by my friends and peers for my utter lack of originality and I will be driven out as a pariah. I will then take a job as a writer for the poet who stole my writings to begin with. Art imitates life, once again.
