Well done! I ride my single speed steel mountain bike on great adventure tours also. I love nature excursions the best. 52 years old still exploring. Awesome
I think you have a great bike. I ride a single speed/fix gear bike and once it is ridden a few times, one speed gets a lot easier and the fitness level will improve too. You made a great video of your overnight ride. I hope you will do more rides like this soon. And the hell with those $10,000 bikes. 😁
As a fellow NYC anxiety ridden, wandering mind that benefits from nature, this video really hits home. Thank you for documenting and showing me that anything is possible even if we have to cross 4 bridges to get somewhere.
Yoooo I put those cranks on my Diamondback build I made a video about and they always come loose too! Now I feel a little less crazy. Going to get some new ones in this case
Isn't it an awesome feeling to accomplish something you've not done before and with such a great environment? Challenge yourself some more. Go more places. And make more videos.
I brought a cable lock with me, but honestly left it unlocked outside a few gas stations for a couple minutes. You have to be a pretty s*&% person to steal a touring bike, so I was putting my trust into the people of the greater NYC area 😬
MAN. Good on you for making that ride! I make the drive quite frequently, but can not imagine doing it on a bike at all. Also, 9W is brutal, especially on the weekends. So many cyclists. Great video!
Yep, trash crankset that the previous owner installed. Have some solid deore cranks I just bought at a bike swap, will be throwing those on in the next couple days.
That bike is worth far more money than that, sure you can budged and buy used but if you would count parts and their instalation it could easily reach 800
I love my single speed cruiser. Gotten compliments! 64 year old on a single is rare, I guess. Thanks for the smile, ride safe!
Awesome! Enjoy riding that thing!
Excellent video. Thanks for taking us along for the ride! I'd watch a hundred of these, especially with the gentle music in the background.
Thanks so much!! Appreciate you watching

Amen! Thanks man!
Impressive ride, great story telling and still looked like an enjoyable time. Even through the tough hilly parts.
Appreciate you saying this!!
I liked your video/adventure, and all simplicity ;)

Great effort! It’s cool to see a ride like that so close to New York City.
Thanks George!! I honestly didn't know it was possible until I tried. Glad I did!
Single speed touring is a chaos move. Nice ride!
It is indeed lol
Enjoyed this a lot! Thanks for taking us along. Subscribed.
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing!!
What handlebars?
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed watching it! 👍
This is inspiring me to go bike camping again soon 🚲 ⛺️ 😊
Do it! Such a fun adventure
great bicycle my friend.
Great video!
What an adventure!
Avoid tent platforms in the rain as the rain will run under the tent..You will be dryer on the ground..
Cool video, but please call it the Tappan Zee bridge.

Yeah, such an annoying problem to have lol. I just grabbed a nice set of deore cranks for $20 at a bike swap!

Great video! as an amateur traveler, how do you avoid your bike/panniers getting stolen when u eat out at a bar/restourant?

Thanks Larry!! Dude 9W was nasty lol
Hi Julian. Did you stop filming the jazz course?
Duuuuude! this is cool!
No way cranks should come lose after 5 miles or even 5000. You might need a replacement crank and/or bottom bracket.
Yep, trash crankset that the previous owner installed. Have some solid deore cranks I just bought at a bike swap, will be throwing those on in the next couple days.
What a fun adventure.
Well done, Julian. What a great trip. Next time, get some more protein and carbs into you!
Definitely have learned this lesson too many times haha, thanks!

Love the video but missing your jazz and drum videos
Inspiring. Thanks!
Awesome Julian!!
Thanks for checking it out Sam! Appreciate you :)

i could use one of these trips as well. 🌲

I applaud your ambition. I suggest better gear and some bushcraft skills to make it more enjoyable.
