Maggie pinches her nose as she sits next to stinky 1970s Barbie and Skipper dolls. Skipper and Barbie get scrubbed and soaked in the hopes of reducing their musty doll odors. After a day of baking soda, soap, and vinegar, the results are in! #dollmakeover #vintagetoys - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
I love how you talked about what the dolls are made of. That was very interesting
Thank you! 💕 And thanks for watching.
they look amazing!! great job! ive also found that soaking in oxi clean can help with odors on clothes - haven't tried it on dolls or their hair! can't wait for part two!
Thank you! I love using oxi clean...good idea! 💕
I am very aware that we need to stop using so much plastic. reduce, Reuse and recycle. Restoring dolls definitely falls into the Reuse category. great videos❤
Thank you for getting that!! 💕 Hoping spreading the love of rescuing dolls can help a little. 🌍❤️
I love the ‘70s Barbies too! My Malibu Barbie has very uneven hair and has never been cut. I don’t know why Mattel made them that way. Another video with great information, thanks!
Oh, that's interesting, so maybe it wasn't a haircut?! Thanks as always for watching and for your support. ❤️
My Malibu barbie I had as a kid had hair like that too!
I got an 80s Barbie recently and will try this. I had a cute 2000s one whose hair and face were sticky and I had to send her right back to Savers, but I wish I’d tried some of this.
The Skipper is so beautiful. I’d love to get a vintage one sometime.
I do know that sticky really old dolls can be from the plastic degrading, but yeah...maybe the one from 2000 could have just used a good washing. But her stickiness should have been disclosed by the seller! Thanks for watching! 💕
Very helpful video! I discovered magic erasers very early on in my collecting when I visited the USA and they are a godsend. I have gotten some very grubby 'TLC' dolls for very little and all they needed was a wash and a scrub on their limbs with the magic eraser and they came up looking minty fresh! 😃
Thank you! Yes! I don't know how I got dirty dolls clean before magic erasers. Love your channel!! 💕
I know what you mean about plastics. Strawberries that used to come in those molded paper boxes with a thin plastic covering and loose lettuces are all now in plastic boxes at my grocery. And while my oldest Barbie clothes I've collected were mostly cotton, they've been polyester for a while. It's all overwhelming! Restoring and reusing is much more sustainable.
That's so true about the strawberry containers! And I miss the cotton Barbie clothes. They were so nice. Overwhelming is the right word! Thanks for sharing and watching! 💕
There’s a TH-cam channel called “a thousand splendid dolls” and she does restorations and tutorials on dolls with her sister, and in one of their older videos they said for dolls with odours that if after you wash them and they still smell that you can put them in a box of dryer sheets for a little while (depending on how bad they smell). I also recommend that you take the clothes off the dolls because if you leave them on for too long the clothes can start to smell aswell. Hope this helps!
I love that channel! Thanks for the info. I'm trying to experiment with things that don't mask odors like febreze or dryer sheets...though I broke that rule using fabric softener on their hair! 😆 But the Barbie has zero odor now, just from airing out after my process. 🎊 As for Skipper....stay tuned for part 2 in a week or so, I have good news! 💕
I love your videos. I watch and re-watch them! What kind of doll is Maggie? Is she a Lovely Gal doll?
Thank you! I can't tell you how happy that makes me! 💕 Maggie is a lot like those dolls, but I think she's just a more generic version. And by that I mean special. 😘
Thank you for the video, i love doll from second hand, where did you find the flat Iron , because is very helpful for the dolls hair😊😊
Thank you! 💕 I got the flat iron on Amazon, they call these small ones "pencil" size.
Are you a doll collector do you display the dolls or have them in a plastic storage box
Yes! I'm a collector! Some are displayed, some are in bins. But I also sell, gift, and donate! 🥰
