Great explaination around that idea! Last year I tried a bunch of crazy techniques, (none of which really worked), until someone finally suggested that I just put a bag over them. And what do you know, works like a charm!
Great video. Makes me want to try this on my own ficus retusa bonsai. What does your benjamina look like now? Have you considered posting an update video? Would love to see the aerial roots now. Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, I was honestly suprised how well it actually works!
I will try this out. Should I poke holes into the bag?
I did poke some holes to get some airflow going in there

Definitely give it a try! I will make sure to post an update video soon
@@ThatBonsaiGuy Thanks! Can't wait to watch it 😉👍🏻
Hello again,
Do you have an update video in the pipeline 😉?
Can't wait to see what your ficus roots look like now!
Thank you!
Hi, sure! Here is the link to the update: th-cam.com/video/6Uk_N5mxb84/w-d-xo.html
Hi, when can i do this action in season. Can i do this during the winter?
Hi, if you keep your tree in a warm enough and bright enough spot it should also work in winter
@@ThatBonsaiGuy thanks for your swift replay👍
This is easiest and most effective way to grow roots.
Maybe you can punch several holes on top of the bag to release excess heat.
Punching holes is a great idea, I will try that!
@@ThatBonsaiGuy I will try it too next year. As loong there's condensation inside of a bag humidity should be 100%.
How long do you actually leave the bag on for? Weekslmonths?
I left it on for roughly 3 weeks, until the roots reached the soil. However, I took it off every day for ten minutes to prevent mold.
nice
Thanks!
