So when the flashbacks about Lews Therin come out it will be very powerful, because by then the audience will have some understanding of what happened.

For those who think this is too-on-nose, bear in mind that we in the know are perfectly aware that this fits with Lews Therin's final moments. But there's nothing specific to Lews Therin in the song. This is equally applicable to any person who destroyed their own life, such as through a destructive addiction. Really amazing song, just like the Manetheren one they have been placed high in the song quality list for me, the Misty mountains cold, the rains of Castamere, seems fantasy series are rising to the top of filmmaking

I love the irony of Thom performing this song in front of the Dragon, the very person the song is about, who has in fact *forgotten* the events that the song addresses. Everyone in the room is staring, spellbound, while Rand is sort of glancing around a bit, as if he is more interested in watching other people. It's a brilliant bit of staging.

This man........feels like one who will stand up more to Moiraine than tom in the books. I feel he and lan are going to have major problems.
Also........I just want to put this song on loop.

Tom was one of my favorite character in the books. I wish he had his colorful cloak but I glad that finally got to see him.

The inside of his coat has colorful patterns fyi, so I think we might see it down the road in its full glory
