Planting The LARGEST Pot In My Garden! RIP To My Beach Plum Tree

- Life is too short and my garden is too small to have plants in it I don't love. I removed my beach plum which had suckers growing but all the existing branches were dead and I'm instead filling the post with some of my favorite vigorous annuals!

Such a beautiful container! Your deck gardens are such a happy place to land on TH-cam!!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful container and nice selection of plants, They are the bees knees.
I can’t wait for them all to intertwine!
I am the same! I like one kind of flower in my pots. ❤ i don’t see a lot of people do that. That’s why i love following you!
Me either! I think bc everything I grow is in a pot the thought of putting multiple plants in every pot makes it feel overwhelming in the garden.
@@ChicagoGardener I totally understand! Plus it’s so much easier to move them around so they go together. I only have pots. I don’t plant anything on the ground. Your content is so good for me! Keep up the great work!
Alot of times, I'll plant a Thai basil or something similar for a center plant. It adds an interesting twist.
That’s a good idea!!
Beautiful combination of plants.
Thank you!
Wow, that is a big one, have a great day
Thank you, you too!
Maybe you know this already but beach plum won’t self pollinate. If your friends want plums, they will need another plant
Your garden is inspiring!
Thank you! When I got the beach plum last year I was told it was self- pollinating and then realized after googling that it was not 😩
Muy buen video
Thank you!
I love this combo. It’s going to look so vibrant and have a cooling effect with the chartreuse. This container is going to blow up! Great job!
I’m so excited to see how large it gets!
Absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤
I underestimated how sad I will feel when a plant dies.
For me, it depends on the plant 😆 If I don’t feel too sad I know it was the right things to remove it from the garden.
Your Petunias will look nice. I have petunias in that size pot myself although mine are not Supertunias.
I’m interested to see how big they get in the pot!
You make me want a "Deep Dish Pizza" Chicago Style!!! OMG!!!!! I'm so in Love with you Miss Chicago Gardener!!!! I may repot some Dwarf Bananas in your Honor today! Roses need to be potted up too!!! So much to do here in the San Francisco Bay Area Wine Country!!! Good thing I have you to motivate me as I'm feeling "overwhelmed!!! ; ) PS What is your first name Miss Gardener? Thank you... Please have a blessed day!!! : ) You are so Beautiful!!! : )
Going to plant some new herbs in my herb garden too!!! All because of you!!! OMG!!!! : )
Lovely container, your deck is so calming and full of life! How do you deal with squirrels? When I lived in a city apartment where I could only plant in containers, I was always finding buried “treasure” in my pots from all the squirrels who hid half eaten food from the dumpster, sometimes killing my plants in the process.. And I was never able to get any tomatoes or peppers because they ate everything. I would have loved having dwarf fruit trees!
So far, a squirrel hasn’t made it up to the rooftop deck yet 🤞 I’ve only seen one up high enough in the trees once but I’m not sure if they can get from the tree to the deck.
Same issue! So now, I’ve been collecting pine cones on walks and I use them as “mulch” in the pots on my deck. The squirrel hates them, and avoids the two pots that have them. Unfortunately not all of my pots have it yet, and the little bugger dug up a small pepper that I don’t think will make it now. But I know now that they won’t mess with the pine cones.
@@modelno2004 That’s a great tip, thanks! I’ve been using pinecones at the base of my larger pots to save on potting soil, but I never thought to try putting them on the surface. I’ll give it a try.
Three plants would have been plenty for that pot so they have room to grow.
Have you found that Biotone is really helpful? Would Plantone work?
Sorry. I think you just answered my question.
I think either is a good addition!
