    Best thing you can do is run a conversion campain than create a look alike audience with the people who click on the landing page to " view content" than after that run a Traffic campain that goes ditectly to spotify without birdge page that uses the lookalike audience.

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree. Except I’d still run a conversion campaign to the lookalike audience as well.

It can be a bit of a bear to setup, but hopefully my video on it will help you get it sorted. Thank you for your great content!!! You and Andrew are really inspiring me to do the same with my music, and I am also using conversion campaigns... I just have a question: How come the Landing Page Views number are so lower than the link clicks if the destination of the click is the landing page? Could it be people that clicked and just went back before the landing page was loaded? Or maybe bots?

    • @tomdupreeiii

      Man you’re so welcome. Thank you for watching! I’m answer to your question, I honestly don’t know. That’s something I still need to look into and learn more about. It really could be either option you mentioned as far as I know. I’m gonna look into it!

    Why do you send people to a hyperlink instead of sending them to spotofy directly? Is it because it gets higher quality clicks? Once again thanks!

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's a great question! I used to think that sending people directly to Spotify was the move as well. If since come to learn that the direct-link method can be easily exploited by bots, which will kill your ad budget without yielding any results. By using a landing page, you are able to ensure that the traffic that makes it all the way through to your streaming profiles is 100% authentic, and you are also able to qualify their interest in your music to a much higher degree. Basically, if someone clicks your ad, then clicks the button on your landing page, then listens to your song, you know they are genuinely interested in discovering new music and at least learning more about you as an artist. Thanks for watching!

    The beauty of Conversion Campaigns is that through facebook pixel you let facebook know who is really interest in your music and who is not. On top of that you can refine your target by doing lookalike audiences of previous campaigns which can decrease cost per conversions significantly. The only drawback is that all this powerful stuff is a bit too techie for some people.

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s exactly right. I think the complexity of setup is what keeps a lot of people away from it. But it really is just such a better method. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Conversion ads are great but I hate how you're charged for impressions in the 'when are you charged section'. I like link clicks cause you're actually paying for that - link click. However, conversion ads folks actually have to click play/stream. Both are good n have flaws, but i find myself burning more money with conversion ads. Why would fb charge me for impressions if I'm optimising for conversion?? So frustrating- what are your thoughts, Tom

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I totally understand where you're coming from. Link clicks are definitely more attractive for that reason. I wish they had an option to pay when you actually trigger a conversion, but I suppose FB could end up serving up your ad endlessly for free if it never actually converted. That could probably be exploited to run an awareness campaign without actually having to pay for it. The reason I like conversions is because it makes the resulting data more honest. I've gotten hit with bots on a multiple link click campaigns, which has destroyed my budget and results. Conversion campaigns, for me, are a wait to protect against that. And while link clicks (when they work) can potentially drive more traffic within a shorter window, conversions work great as a slow and steady way to improve and optimize over time. At least that's my take on it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    how did you track a streaming conversion in your ad manager?

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  ปีที่แล้ว

      We can't track streaming conversions because we can't add our pixel to Spotify's domain since we don't own it. The closest thing we can track is click-throughs on our landing page, which is what I'm paying attention to. That's the best indication we have that someone made it through to Spotify and chose to listen.

      I'm so glad you found this one helpful! No, I only ran campaigns through Facebook Ads. I routed all of my traffic through my website though, so I'm able to track every click and page view through Google Analytics as well. My landing page is hosted on my website, and then my click-through links for Spotify and Apple Music are forwarding links that are made using PixelMe. The are built on my URL as well and have my FB tracking pixel embedded into them. All of this put together allows me to see exactly what happens at every stage of the ad process, and I can track it on multiple platforms, which is awesome! Thanks for watching!

    This is interesting. Do you think it would be the same result if you sent them directly to spotify without the landing page? I'm doing a campaign like that and not sure wether to pick link click or conversion

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do. I think the conversion optimization inherently pushes to higher quality traffic based on how the user has engaged on the platform previously. Having said that, I do still highly recommend using a landing page. I used to be opposed to them and sent traffic directly as well. I’ve since learned that a good landing page will help you to drive higher quality traffic in the long term. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      A should get more initial streams but B maybe more followers and repeat streams?
      Or does A only land on Spotify and bounces so doesn't click play so it doesn't get any streams?

    how do i make my conversions cheaper? my link clicks usually end up costing me .06 or .03 per click. where as the conversion costs almost a dollar for one and .35 cents for the other... help @Tom

    • @tomdupreeiii
      @tomdupreeiii  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Starting at $0.35 per conversion when you're in the learning phase isn't bad. $1 is a bit high. You're naturally going to have a slightly higher cost with a conversion campaign, but you're paying for higher-quality traffic so it's worth it. Link click campaigns have a much lower percentage that actually convert to listeners. For the $1 campaign, I would turn it off and start fresh. I'd also check your pixel setup to confirm everything is working as it should.

If it starts to shift negatively and keeps trending that way that’s when you know it’s time to adjust.
