    Hi Michelle, love your videos...I am so lucky to have happened upon your paint and sip page. From there I found you on TH-cam.... I have to say, I have never painted before, but since I found your site, I’m Obsessed! I have purchased 3 kits from you, and also have done a few pictures from your videos. And everyone I show ...can’t believe I painted them! I have watched so many different artists videos, and most of them do not explain anything...you just watch them paint....I don’t think, or at least I know I can’t learn anything that way. You explain everything! Keep putting up those videos, and also I have my grandchildren doing your canvas and cookies..... they love it! Can’t wait for my new kit to arrive! Thank you so much!

      Cheryl Hamm, I could have written this! I feel the same as you do regarding Michelle. I never painted before and I just happened upon Michelle the Painter on TH-cam! @@creativemair Hi Maryann, love the way Michelle teaches. I just wish I had found her years ago. I have done a few of her paint and sip paintings...Winter birdhouse cardinals, Periwinkle pig , Hydrangeas by the ocean and Sunset lighthouse love them! And I just finished Birch tree owl, and for my grandchildren I have done Cookie stealing sloth and Adorable ostriches. I’m Obsessed! Keep looking for the next one.... I watch her videos over and over, And I learn something new each time. I think my next one is going to be Raindrops keep falling. I am thinking of taking her class...I could use some help with blending sky and oceans. Michelle makes it look so easy.....but I guess the more you do the better you will get at it.... glad your enjoying it too. Gives us something to do during the pandemic.....
      take care and hope to talk to you again. Stay safe!

      @@creativemair that’s how I am. Love them all. No where to hang..... such a connundrum. Hahahaha. Love the owl, but I had to do a lot my own way.... cause Michelle was teaching how to use a pallet knife ( if that’s what it’s called) I wasn’t getting it.....some places it looked good, others it was just a blob...... wasn’t to keen on it. Michelle’s was beautiful! Of course all of hers a brilliant. I’ll have to practice with the knife.

It came out awesome and was enjoyable and relaxing to do. I love your step by step video's and how quickly they move along...as well as your somewhat limited palettes...when i see tutorials with 40 colors out i am instantly overwhelmed. Hi Michele, thank you very much for the answer, I will try the acrylics, do you have any advice so that they do not dry out so quickly? I love your channel and I am going to put into practice some paintings in this quarantine that we have so long, Thank you, thank you

    • @michellethepainter.
      @michellethepainter.  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mirta, Yes, you can use a "wet pallet" and a spray bottle to spritz the paint with water. The wet pallet can be home-made with a plastic container that has a lid. You line the bottom inside with wet paper towel topped with parchment paper or disposable pallet paper. That will keep the paints moist for a long time as they will absorb the water from the wet paper towel at a moderate pace. I hope this helps! Have fun painting, Michelle

    Do you spray any protective or finishing coating on you art to preserve it?

    • @michellethepainter.
      @michellethepainter.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roberta, Typically no, as acrylic paint is very durable once it fully cures. It takes about 3 weeks to fully cure and then it's good to go. However, in some cases I like to add a varnish for esthetic purposes. When acrylic paint dries, each color has a different sheen to it and if I want a uniform look throughout the painting I will add a varnish to bring all of the colors into the same sheen. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and have fun painting! ~Michelle
