I can’t help but think of a series of unfortunate events- when hearing about this
Hi Georgia, I'm an Australian...just a bit of information for you if you don't already know, January 26th is Australia Day! Its a celebration of the founding of Australia and the first arrival of the British Fleet back in 1788. Its our BIG day of pride and joy for our country, and the beaches in any State or Territory are always jam packed, so there would have been a lot of witnesses/ppl around, but sadly also a day where a person/persons could easily go missing without anyone paying much attention. It still haunts our country to this day :( Thank you doing a video on this, much appreciated! Keep up the good work!
xopandaDJxo Australia Day 1966 wasn't celebrated on the Wednesday it was held on the Friday. It was school holidays not a public holiday.
Ummm ok then lol I didn't mention what day it was on, public or otherwise. I'm also well aware of when school holidays are....im a Teacher!!! lol smh DOH!
I'm somewhat reminded of the Kristin case from Norway.
In 1999 a 12 year old girl named Kristin Juel Johanssen had went for a bike ride to the beach to take a swim, but she never returned home, and she was found several hours later dead in a forest, strangled to death, with her bike nearby. While there was no indication of sexual assault, the fact that she had been wearing her bathing suit underneath her clothes, and this bathing suit had been cut up by a knife or scissors, indicated that the crime was sexually motivated. This was for a long time one of Norway's biggest unsolved cases.
First a man in his 50's was arrested, but later released and given compensation for all the trouble. Another man, Henning Hotvedt who was in his 20's was arrested as it had been confirmed that he had followed and behaved very threateningly towards a woman on the same road Kristin was last seen bicycling on. However, he was also released in 2002 and given around 500 000 kroner (around 55 000 euro) as compensation.
Despite him being released, the girl's parents remained convinced that Hotvedt was the killer, and were understandably outraged that he was released and given such a huge settlement. Nobody believed them, and media wouldn't leave them alone.
Finally in 2016, 17 years after poor Kristin's death, Henning Hotvedt was once again arrested as they had found new DNA evidence, and this time he was proven guilty once and for all, proving Kristin's family had been right all along.
However, the shittiest thing here is that because the crime happened so long ago, he was only sentenced to 13 years in prison, which I personally thing is appalling. He killed a child, and he only got 13 years in prison.
16:15 was it just me who got loads of coloured lines on my screen
Lula And Louie i did too
Immediately checked the comments when it started happening. Didn't want to be the only one lol
Sinead Vaz same!!!
It scared the crap out of me.
You are so underrated! You need more recognition, you put so much detail into these videos and I absolutely love you 😽😽😽😽
Has anyone else realised that the Beumont children and the Sommerton man were on the same beach
Mataga Epoca literally was thinking the exact same thing
Mataga Epoca yes omg I was thinking the same thing
glenelg and somerton are two different suburbs, where the Beaumont children were is further down from somerton beach (coming from someone who lives in the state)
No. The children were from Sommerton Beach suburb and disappeared from Mosley square in Glenelg. The Sommerton Beach man was actually found on Sommerton Beach. Which is a much quieter beach with no shops and less crowds.
Totally deserted in the winter
Of all these mystery channels, I love yours the most. I find your voice and accent so calming. I think it’s partially because I’m american but spent 5 years in the UK for high school and all my friends were British and they just are the people who calm me down and keep me leveled the most
You will have to let us know if there are any updates on cases like this and others you've covered! Obsessed with your videos ❤️
Love the name Midweek Mystery!! Also LOVE the background music, perfect level of creepiness! ❤
I'd love a follow-up on this. It sounds like a lot of stuff was happening when you first made this video.
The music in the background sounds like my alarm, it kinda freaks me out😂 I love these videos! I find conspiracy theories so fascinating, and you explain them so well! X
Hahaha I've been hunting for some creepy-but-not-too-creepy music and that's the best I could find, I kinda hate it though! I'm so glad you're enjoying these, thanks for the feedback!
weird I didn't actually notice the music until I read this hahaha
Georgia Marie the music actually reminds me of music from the Harry Potter films...
becky harris same!!!!!
I just started listening to an american true crime podcast explaining the Beaumont children case - the blurb was really interesting - but their narration was really tacky and I was about to give up when I was browsing your Midweek Mysteries playlist and found you'd already done a video on the same topic! Thanks heaps :)
I understand I just can’t listen to some ppl talk about this stuff because of the way they talk about it. I can’t usually watch documentaries bc of all the tacky B roll and very insensitive re-enactments of attacks (especially sexual attacks) and other violent acts
You added that you thought the case was close to being solved so I looked up "the Beaumont children" and the first news story that came up was posted an hour ago. A new lead was given and an excavation began on Castalloy factory in Adelaide to find the children's remains. Police are said to be very confident that this will provide answers. Whether or not they do, this is an incredibly interesting and sad disappearance. I love the video!
they did do the dig, and it was just rubbish unfortunately and animal bones.
It's just so sad how many people who said they "knew" these kids and never thought to check on them when seen with some strange man......I know, they couod have just thought it was a family member or friend but why not just check!
People were too trusting then
I knew I recognised the name of that beach! I asked my dad and he said it’s the beach near st Kildas in Adelaide (where he grew up) and he used to know the family and the youngest sibling who didn’t go missing. My dad and grand father used to decorate their house! So freaky to think about that.
The Beaumont’s never had any other children. After their three children went missing, Nancy Beaumont had a mental breakdown and she and her husband separated in the early 70’s and eventually sold their house where they were raising their children before they went missing. Nancy actually died a couple of weeks ago on September 16, 2019, never fully recovering from the loss of her children. Your dad must have known different Beaumonts....
Its not near st kilda, i live in Adelaide
there wasnt another kid this is obvious bullshit
@@jimmytheyoutubewatcher8002 ikr its not at all close
Dude, there was no 4th child and St Kilda is at least an hour away from Glenelg, it's way over the other side of Adelaide and then some.
I'm really liking these videos!! X
I recently discovered you & have been binge watching your videos ❤️ I sit here watching the ad’s because I know that’s more money in your pocket & want to support you 🤗
thank you so much!
Georgia Marie thank you for replying 😄
Please say I'm not the only one who is seriously creeped out 😬
Kate Heavey i’m spooked to
Kate Heavey dw I'm pretty scared too
I have often wondered about Christopher Wilder. He was in the same area and he was a sadistic massive serial killer. I think that he could be involved. He was killed in a police shooting at the border of Canada and the USA. I heard that some people think they could have been his first murders. He also fits the description. He is a bit younger but older adults tend to guess up to 15 years older when giving an age range.
i love these videos, even though ive heard of most of the cases via other channels i find you give alot more insight and information than the other TH-camrs. keep up the great work ❤❤
I feel like the McIntyre kids waited so long to come forward because they only finally did so after their father had passed. No matter what had happened between them I feel as though they were afraid of the outcome while he was alive considering their other sister was apparently murdered not long after she had come forward years before.
Also his first wife was 'suicided' in a mental hospital at aged 32 after she made arrangements to give a statement to police. According to the McIntyre children, their father was part of a paedophile ring and he was responsible for disposing of the bodies.. So the Beaumont children weren't the first or the last.
I’m so hooked on your channel. You are doing such a great job.
I wish you could do “the Theo Hayes case “
A fellow Belgian . An 18 year old who vanished in Australia.
A lot of cctv footage and clues . But still missing. 😥
Interesting case .
Kyron Horman? Sodder Children? I love your videos!! Mass media with so much attention can get things solved. I work as a forensic nurse. The level of trafficking in the US even is devastating. I look for missing faces everywhere. Everything helps!! Please keep it up. Kyron Horman is personally the most devastating because he reminds me of my son and they are close in age.
Well found Kyron Horman! Thanks!!
Really good video, I watched another video on this subject yours is soooo much better!
Thank you so much for your uploads xx
I've been seeing this on the news for AGES! Thanks for covering this 😁 (BTW I'm Australian)
the dig on 2013 was done in the wrong place. Using technology police found abnormalities in the soil. two boys had come forward and said they had dug a bole there at one point. In February 2018 they dug up the new site. As an Australian who has grown up hearing about the beaumont children i really hoped that they would find their bodies to give the family some closure. The search only revealed animal bones though... Such a sad case
i was wondering that also seems highly likely very horrifying case yet interesting blessed be babs and thank you georgia
I’m thinking they were either taken on the way to the catch their bus, since there was no evidence of a struggle on the beach and since all of their things were gone, or the man had earned their trust over time of them going to the beach and they willingly left with him, again explaining why their belongings weren’t left behind.
Samantha Kelley I honestly believe the man was grooming them and took the children.
Eloise Kelly and that’s how there was no shown sign of struggle
Yes and the younger girl told the mother that the older girl had "found a boyfriend at the beach" - mother didnt think anything of it but i think 100% that a man had befriended all the children
@@tallulahwring1678 Also the children produced a 1 pound note and ordered lunch for 5 people, despite their mother giving them far less than that. The man they were playing with told people nearby that their money had gone missing. He probably stole it himself and offered the children a lift home.
Please do the case of Hayley Dodd. This needs to be done as it’s a tragic scale and her story needs to be out there.
Sophie hey x (I replied straight W away bcs I’m on yt 24/7 haha xx I requested it a lot on Eleanor’s page and I saw when she did it. Your help is deeply appreciated though xxxxxxx thank you xxxxxxxxxxx
So glad I found your channel! subscribed!
Celia DeAverrett ur greatlooking too
Khalid ogo thanks! :)
Celia DeAverrett thanks for theo compliment ... u could not ask for more
You should really look into more Australian missing people mystery’s. There’s so many that the rest of the world has never heard of and could definitely use the exposure
This looks interesting
I was born the year this happened
I have prayed for years that this will be solved and the children found. Unfortunately too my missing children 😢
If you know something and kept quiet you are a coward
We think it is absolutely insane letting our 10, 8 and 6 year old to go by themselves anywhere because of the world we live in now. Which it's not like in the 60's none of the crazy that goes on now it just isn't as public. I won't even let NY son walk to the school bus alone but I knew at 5 my Mom let me but she would stand at the top of the street so she could see NE the whole time and I had a cellphone but this was 2005 and even then our communities and neighborhoods we're a lot more close nit then they are even now
No one else is thinking about “A Series Of Unfortunate Events” on Netflix? Just me ? Okay...
P.S. If you haven’t seen it watch it it’s pretty good.
Love your channel Georgia ...... you might be interested in looking at "Snowtown bodies in the barrels " or Serial killer Ivan Milat murders for future episodes ;)
there's a really good podcast called Unsolved Murders by ParCast and they cover this story too if anyone is interested
You might want to update this video because there is a new book called Unmasking the Killer of the Missing Beaumont Children by Stuart Mullins and Bill Hayes published in 2023 and naming Harry Phipps as the killer. Harry Phipps was a prominent businessman at the time who lived a stone's throw from the park where the children were playing. His son named him as his own abuser for many years and said he'd seen the Beaumont children entering their home on the day of their disappearance.
Okay so I hope no one I know will see this because A) it's none of my business and B) I know someone from the family of one the suspects. So basically from what I've heard from people I know who know the family better than me is that the Macintyre man who has been accused by his own family died, and because of that it meant that there is no longer a limitation on searching the property - this also gave his kids the freedom to properly talk to the police. When it comes to the well on the farm, he apparently said that there were some sheep that fell down it and so he decided to fill it with concrete - which made no sense and seemed suspicious and out of place. Now I can't really remember more than this and also I don't know if I really got much of that info right or not, but its just what I've heard. Also the police looked into another construction area last year as well, I don't know if they found anything but we'd all know by now if they did. ALSO a reason as to why this was so huge and still is, is because it happened on Australia day and Glenelg beach was PACKED.
Did you ever find out if the well was checked? I'm no fan of po-po but if it was never checked maybe call in anonymously and leave a tip?
The murder of Judith and Susan is actually called the Mackay sisters murder, not the Adelaide Oval Case. The Adelaide Oval case was in Adelaide (South Australia) where two girls were kidnapped at Adelaide Oval while their parents were watching football. They believe that these three events were all link together though, it's all very interesting coming from Australia myself, we don't have alot of things like this very often.
becoz of the bogi man ill never go out again
Today in English we read a little bit of a series of unfortunate events and I was like Beaumont children I think I have heard of that and then I find this
Carrie Culberson is an interesting case!!
Have you seen the recent updates Georgia? Harry Phipps is the supposed perpetrator, sadly long dead but it makes sense and there is a LOT of evidence. Whole podcast on youtube by authors of the new book. Would love to see an update. Sadly both parents had already passed ❤
Do Erica Baker from Kettering, Ohio! She was a young girl who went missing walking her dog and her body has never been found.
Do the baby doe (bela bond )case
This case has always fascinated me. Unfortunately, I think they were groomed and lured and then hurt.
Rachel Vaughan has the truth, it makes me weep, those poor children
please do the amelia dowler case xx
the age are not right they are 9, 7 and 4
Not at all, if you're telling a story of real people and real circumstances, you need to be accurate.
Close enough are you kidding me???? That's very rude
That’s very rude
Your comment isn't rude. It's just a correction of the truth. Facts matter.
I thought the youngest was 4??
Anyway... the South Australian police are pretty good with investigating ANY claims or suspicion to do with The Beaumonts and other missing children cases (Football oval girls, Louise Bell etc) They are pretty desperate to close the case and find out the truth. It's pretty sad.
Von Einem was considered a suspect because he is amongst the crowd (in photos) watching the police search for the children.
Von Einem was part of what they called "The Family" and was responsible for about 7 murders of young boys, but only got sentanced for Richard Kalvin.
The reason he was so tight lipped was because this "family" included high profile judges, lawyers, doctors etc. (Untouchables) . Although recently Von Einem has said he will tell his complete story once his mother passes away.
I doubt he took the Beaumont children, because he was into young teen boys. Not girls.
It's obvious the blond man took them. Grew up in the 60s and 70s. My sister and I would be dropped off at the mall when I was 10 and she was 11. The oldest being nine or ten might be a bit young, but times were definitely different back then. I'm not going to blame the mother on this.
Just as a reference, when I was seven, in 1971, I walked alone to school and back. A bit over a half mile, across two major avenues, in an urban area. I had a house key to let myself in after school.
And when I was twelve, I would ride a bus in the evening to a neighboring city to babysit a two year old and a four year old.
Honestly, I'm NOT saying that was an entirely good thing - I definitely had some sketchy experiences. I'm just saying it was really considered quite normal at the time.
Definitely different from how things are now. When I was in elementary school I only lived about four blocks from the school and I still never walked it without my parents or a large group of other kids. This was in 2006.
Errrrmmmmm why I I never heared of this 😫
I think Andrew would have been 12.
If he was 63 in 2017, he would have been born in 1954 and this was 1966. He might have still been 11 depending on when his birthday was.
Georgia please do a history on the life of Kurt Cobain
Love these new videos but I'm not too keen on this music xxx
Eliza McKindley y not... if ur not kean ur mean
I kind of agree. Music in the background of any video is distracting. No offense...
my mum who was born in 1944 caught 2 seperate busses to her preschool by herself when she was 2 (in australia) so yeah i dont think them getting on the bus was weird XD
Kloe 1204 my 2 year old can't even talk properly let alone catch a bus alone, that's crazy 🙊
Seems legit
Hell, I myself was out of the house with a full time job at 18 months. Once I was 12 months, my Dad kept bitching at me to "get out & get a goddamned job to pull my weight around here" Thankfully I only weighed like 20 lbs at the time.
This can't be true... a 2 year old doesn't have the ability to do that. Not to mention, 1946 wasn't that long ago. I doubt that was allowed. If it did happen, your grandparents should have lost their children.
Sin Sanity Sin Sanity I’m sorry but that’s not true a one year old can’t possibly just walked around and get a job if you can’t even speak properly. And also If you are typing this then u just be around the age of 10-20 so no I don’t believe you.
This happened in my home town Adelaide a lot of evil in this city watch testimony on this rachel Vaughn 🇦🇺
to think this happened in my home town. ugh.
you didn't speak on Harry Phipps he is most definitely the main suspect in the case
'It was just a complete shit show' 😂
What is the human centipede? What does it mean?
marthmallow Are you sure you want to know😱
i won’t sleep tonight
You do so good explaining things. Only thing I have to say is they were actually younger 9, 7, and 4, which makes it that much worse.
With headphones the music is much more obvious and makes it more creepy 😂
My grandad' surname is Beaumont. #creepy
TroianSpencer BellisarioHastings There's a road and school with the name Beaumont where I live
my default hospital is called Beaumont
It’s was a very common name in old Australia, back then they had a good name for themselves. There is a lot of places around Australia with Beaumont somewhere in tittles
I’d let a 10 year old and possibly a mature 8 year old go on a bus if it was just 5 min journey and they had don’t the journey before. But I would not let a 6 year old go out without a responsible adult or teenage family member.
When the video started I got scared cuz she's closer to the camera than usual 😂
I’ve just realized there’s a film sort of based around these three children it’s called “a series of unfortunate events”🤷♀️😬
no that movie is based on their parents who died.
Why is she talking about this.
Because she wants to?
Because its still an open case. Only this year there was an excavation on a property where it was strongly believed that the children were buried there.
Also, when a loved one (or 3) goes missing... you never stop wanting answers.
Rebecca Dunn real question is: why are you here?
You are not a detective or a reporter, why are you entertaining innocent people's murder? smh
The point is to bring light to these cases and possibly help them get solved.
ste emsley how is she solving cases genius?
Because, just like other true crime youtubers, she wants to bring awareness to the cases and keep it in people's memories incase someone remembers something or finds something which could lead to a conviction. And some people who study forensics may also use videos like this for case studies and research. So if keep your hate to yourself and don't watch if it bothers you.
i liked your channel but these conspiracy videos aren't for me 👎🏼
+denise h good job I'm still posting my other content as well then 🙌🏻
So instead of finding a video you're interested in, you comment on this one ? Logical
