  • On the 26th of January, 1966, three children would go missing / disappear from an Adelaide Beach without a trace, creating one of the most notorious unsolved cold cases in Australian history. Despite a $1,000,000 reward, numerous suspects, and the largest search operation in South Australian history, the disappearance has never been solved. DNA technology has aided the case over the last couple of years, however, has failed to convict one of the 4 suspects presented in the video. Will this case ever be solved?
    This is, What Happened to The Beaumont Children? (An Unsolved Cold Case)

    it's really sad that the mum died before ever getting to see her kids again, i just can't imagine going through all that grief for decades, getting prank letters, getting false leads and end up passing on before any sufficient evidence is found. it's really sad

      What kind of monster thinks it's a practical joke to send a letter pretending to be a kidnapper and telling the parents they can have their children back, just to send another letter saying that he changed his mind. He should go to jail. To make the parents think their precious children that disappeared are coming back to them is just pure evil. Poor kids. Poor parents.

    I cannot imagine what it would be like to have all THREE of your children disappear. Usually, you hear that one child (rarely two) have suffered an unfortunate fate but not usually more than that. If you do, it's usually the parents who are responsible in some way (not that I think the parents did it in this particular instance but in most other cases they are primary suspects). For all of their children to get taken, I cannot imagine the grief the parents must have felt- especially the mother who passed away without knowing what happened to her children. It must be harrowing.

      I see it as the duty of a country's army to take action in such a case. And EVERYONE should have understood that every single house was searched. If I was an Australian, I could have lived better with this state of emergency than with 3 little siblings disappearing forever on a normal day and nobody knowing if it was at least quick. You can also be sure that there have either been cases before or after by the same perpetrator.

      @tobiasreaper3650 2 ปีที่แล้ว +70

      I think he is, by far, the best suspect. He had motive, he had opportunity, and he had means. We know he liked children, he lived on the beach, giving him opportunity and means of committing the crime, and also making him the most likely to have already met the kids before. A child went into a shop and paid for something using a £1 note, something he was known for, and would have been unusual for most (especially children at the time). His son said he saw the kids, which is a lot more reliable than a witness saying they recognize a suspect 30-40 years later. Based on the dimensions, I'm guessing that those two employees dug temporary holding graves that were only used for a few days before he moved them somewhere more remote. His wife acted very suspicious about the purse, which leads me to believe she may have been in on it.

    I can’t even imagine how the mother must have felt through her entire life following the incident. Not only did she have the grief and denial of closure, but she must have felt such immense guilt for not having accompanied them to the beach that day. She probably thought every day about how she could have prevented their disappearance had she been there and that’s heartbreaking.

      We need to get rid of the pop psychology term "closure". For parents who lose children there never is any kind of resolution of the horrible feelings associated with that occurrence. The grief is always with you--all the feelings of anger, bargaining, acceptance etc. and many more that are claimed to be "stages" of grief can occur in no particular order and two or more (or all) can be present simultaneously. Kubler-Ross' writings were discredited by later studies.

    I feel so bad, like imagine the amount despair, sadness, depression, and hopelessness must feel after losing your children. The one thing that you love most in this universe, stripped away from you, never to be seen again and never found or even solved about what happened. Only to be met with prank letters and jokes while you sit there hoping one day your children will come home. After some maniac took them from you. When you could have stopped them, went with them, kept them home, but no. All while waiting and waiting for your children to come home.

    Does anyone else think the police are focusing too much on the fact that the guy who was seen on the beach with the children "looked like he was in his thirties"...? Ages can be extremely deceiving. Some people just look much, much older or much younger than they actually are. Two of the boys I went to high school with started losing their hair before they even graduated, for example (hey, it sucks but it does happen), & by the time they were 19, they genuinely looked like middle-aged men.
