Dominic...Infernum? Ring any bells? Well this is their new boss...It screams Dom at you with the level of "Oh, My eyes" This visual marvel spews at you...Still though...LOOK AT IT!
From a fight point it's really damn good but does have a few hiccups like the Sword stabbin attack, That thing just doesn't make any sense, As for the final mega deathray thing...How the heck do you avoid the ray and hide in the safe zones...Anyones who cares! Lets get exploring the twisted garden, Start fight and get Nuking!

This is "I make whatever I want and screw standards" written all over it, I'm glad Dom gets to make the stuff he wants now.
Outside of his ties to Cal and the concepts too, I'm guessing it's an addon because Cal has all the lategame fun toys to play around with and build a boss around. There aren't really any mods like that in 1.4, any "well known" mods that is, as they're all still stuck on 1.3
Kinda like the old golden days of 1.3, just with better effects and less busted attack patterns!
And it's good to see the Nuke still holds up years later.

True, but I mean the method it uses to kill enemies is *pretty* basic, and I'm surprised more bosses aren't hardened against it, given how antsy everyone got over cheat sheet butcher (some people actually made bosses go into a rage mode if you tried to butch them)@@astrumgenesis7014

@@cat_supernova2242 True... old lore Xeroc wasn't omnipotent while the nameless deity is shown just to be straight up omnipotent and has the ability to manipulate the game which is something Xeroc from old lore could never do. Plus there personality's are different becuase old lore Xeroc just wanted to create stuff while the dark gods from old lore just wanted to destroy everything, nameless is all about balance between things and making everything fair. Also the fact that Xeroc in old lore is dead Proves that they are different beings.

I love this fight, yes I did fight Xeroc (and or Nameless Deity), and yes I did enjoy the fight! the visuals, the attacks, the music, I love all of it! it also feels special to see Dom work on the fight via his dev log vids on his channel finally be finished! 10/10 boss! Love this incomprehensible lad!

@@wolfpell4634yup. You have to name your character "Dominic". There's a bunch of others. Even seeing the censor lifted just makes me itch.
I swear, Dominic just drops fire left and right, like he just gets better and better with the visual effects.
Also the sound design of this fight is insane, hearing this fight with headphones is something else.
Dom is like the upgraded IDG of visuals.
The sounds are made by Moonburn, They're a skill around sounds, Nihilus's audio was also done by Moonburn

its a Deity high above anything else prob,so since it is a TEST,our goal is just to pass the test,but i dont think lore whise it can be killed,i mean we cant even see it's face because our brain can't understand what is in front of us,so i assume the Deity gives us a chance and does not go all out on us,i mean cmon...creating black holes and throwing literally several galaxies at us in the Final attack.

tbh I've absolutely no idea but once I was told it could be removed, I went for it because I disliked that black box there over seeing the full boss

@randominternetuser7432 Mine uses a secret player name which unlocks the full uncovered sprite, I was told about it after Myra had recorded their video and had left the VC we were in, I guess they didn't know? Idk, Either way if you name your player "Dominic" The black box is removed, I had to relight Deity 3 times.

“Xeity” uses preset combinations of parts depending on your player name. In this case, naming yourself Dominic removes the censor. Most contributors to the mod have one

I'm not typically someone who goes crazy over something that looks neat, but holy hell. Genuinely, this boss fight is designed so well and plays out way cooler than a large majority of games currently being produced.
Personally, I think the sprite design could've been better. Don't get me wrong, it works, but it's missing the personalized touch that Omega Flowey had (as an example by proxy of how the feel vaguely similar-esque). That's the best way I can describe it. Also I personally feel the censoring should be a blur rather than a bar. I think the censoring is a clever idea because "nobody knows what god truly looks like nor may they be able to comprehend" but I feel that a blur effect would get the same point across plus add an additional "it's blurry because god appears different in the eyes of every man", so sorta like nod at 'he appears as you imagine, but that isn't the truth of his form'.
As for the music, I think it was done very well. I acknowledge that some may not agree and I myself personally think the ending portion where it's mostly just screaming could be toned down to a more understandable yelling that doesn't sound like your headphones are breaking, but the overall chaos fits and the vibe is good. I feel like if you have time to scrunch your nose at the music while fighting a boss this intense, it's either too easy, you're too good, or are just kinda picky with what you want (not throwing any shade here because I'm definitely in the group with that last one).

Spelling Issue
I like the sprite, wish it wasnt so "photoshoppy" but it definitely fits for a god and i like his attacks, they are pretty cool but man i dont like the music at all i have to mute it when i fight him but he certainly screams extra dimensional/otherworldly which is pretty cool (if i had the ability to compose a new song for him id see him having a rock opera type of song, maybe heavy metal opera, all of his fanart makes him look like a metal head after all lol)
Yeah I extracted the mod mod for files and the sprites look like they were PNGs take off Google or something, Not very good in terms of quality there.
Music is OK at fight but then loses the charm later on with the screaming and just general noise.
@CataclysmicArmageddon it was a very weird choice in terms of music, "seizure core" as i like to call it since the dude who drummed sounded like he/she was having a seizure while doing it i kinda expected the music to have a bunch of choir considering hes emulating calamitys secret boss (xeroc is supposed to be the secret boss when the mod is finished) i kinda wanted it to sound like scals theme, when i heard scals theme for the first time i was expecting like darth vader or something to come marching in. That's how emposing the song sounds
Personally I think it's one of my favorite designs for a boss, it does something different and something unfitting for terraria, and that's what makes it so great imo
to a in-lore terrarian something that looks like this is entirely incomprehensible, and that's why I think it fits the boss so well, it's an incomprehensible, chaotic deity. (also might just be that I love mixed-media/weirdcore aesthetics)
Song's lyrics are really cool but imo the drums yeah are a bit much, not much reasoning for why breakcore specifically.
@SwitchyWitch_ if the lyrics were put into a different style it would sound alot better, whoever sung this was trying to sing like a heavy metal vocalist (look up 115 by elena seigman it sounds similar at points) i think it would sound alot better if put into a heavy metal setting also you are right about the incomprehensible part of it, he certainly looks like something straight out of biblical nightmare which is pretty cool
I personally really enjoy the music but I can definitely see where it could be obnoxious to be FORCED to listen to it, wish there was a way to make "alt soundtracks" that would be configurable or something

I'm not. I think the absolute madness of this design in a pixelated game like this really assists that vibe of a nigh-Lovecraftian god far outside the realm of the world one lives in.
You gotta realize it’s supposed to represent just how out of this world Calamity’s god is. And that it isn’t held by the rules that everything else is.
