She seemed like an already level headed young lady…..but she did allow the fight to be dictated….and allowed herself to get bullied and trapped by a really long strong young fighter …..that has to be an experience in itself ….if they fight again …expect Jackie to escape and bring the fight to the center of the ring

Phenomenal interview! I am still a fan of Ms Buntan her skills were top notch and very fluid against Ms Sundell. And Ms Sundell did a wonderful job with her gameplan. Both ladies should be proud of the skills they both displayed.
Being tall, that's only the advantage of smila, but to their rematch Jackie will smash her.
She's not 6ft. tall, but she is only 17 years old !!

Smilla adjusted during the fight. That’s one of the reasons she won. Impressive for a 17 year old.
Imo Jackie was too over confident, her team had a plan A and B for title fight , all bases covered , almost like victory was guaranteed as I listen to interviews in the build up . My first viewing of smilla was her previous fight , first impression was she’s not in Jackie’s league and is clearly the underdog being her first One fight , i was worried for her , advising her to use her jab which previous Jackie opponents failed to do . After watching all of smilla footage i learn that she has all the skills and the maturity of someone much older , her Thai training methods have conditioned her well to tolerate being hit giving confidence in restlessly attacking ,, her toughness and heart was the edge , constantly moving forward always looks good with judges cage-side ,, smilla last words to Jackie was “don’t underestimate me”
I felt she said that because she was listening to Jackie’s comments about her . Both girls are great fighters and Jackie will get a rematch sooner than later
I didn't know what exactly to make of Smilla up till her win against Saosing on thaich8. I've never seen Saosing looking so nervous before a fight let alone vs a 16yr old and then the entire thing was just insane - both were trying to overwhelm each other for the full 9 minutes nonstop. If they had the mma gloves it would have been really brutal... Anyway, I do not consider Smilla an underdog against literally anyone now. Especially on a first encounter it seems very hard for her opponents to get her timings and spacing right in order to defend and counter effectively.
@@omnisemantic1 yes I can’t want to see sundell again,, she’s is hit-able but very durable and her skills can be overshadowed by her restless attacking ,, she can be calculating but chooses to go all out ,, she literally runs towards her opponent ,,, scary thing was that it looked like she was just warming up in that title fight . Jackie targeted the head too much imo , smilla was waiting for the hook to the head , Jackie has brilliant left hook to the body , in rematch Jackie needs to chop down the tree to reach the fruit at the top imo
@@bennywest5981 Indeed to fight her effectively one needs to find a way to drain her batteries a little and persistent bodyshots are one way of doing that. Chances of knocking her down with a punch are very slim and not a good approach. Ultimately Smilla can still overwhelm her opponents if she doesn't get meaningfully punished for going all out the way she does. But this is why these women have trainers and teams - they'll either work it out or not ^^

I think Jackie has the ability to bounce back from that loss. The length of Sundell as well as her relentless pressure took its toll on Jackie but I think Jackie's footwork and speed is way better than most in their division and those, coupled with a better gameplan, will do the trick in the rematch.

Please try the bob and weave technique because with your speed it will help you better fighting a taller person. That's what I think.
Bobbing and Weaving doesn’t necessarily work in Muay Thai, you’re opening yourself up for a knee or kick to the face. You can slip, but if you do bob and weave you can’t exaggerate it too much.

I always root for Jackie but having said that I was rooting for the young Smilla Sundell. She did what I thought was impossible I had seen her fight men.Hope she takes a loss well. Everyone looses; but not everyone has a belt.
She spars with men, she's not "fighting" them.
She just saying it's all good, no big thang . But that 17 year old whipped her and beat her to a pulp. She got overwhelmed and outmatched in every facet of the fight. And the youngster is only gonna get better. Jackie just saying she wants a rematch for the interview sake and not look intimidated 🤷🏿♂️. But if they tangle again, Jackie face gonna be disfigured way worse than the initial fight . Lump city 😳

I honestly believe she’ll win the rematch …I mean that honestly….she kept letting her leg get caught and kept getting trapped in the corner …in the center of the ring she was as good as always ….no shade to Smilla at all …she found success and kept on it ….Seems like Jackie Buntan corner wasn’t advising her …because it look like she kept getting stuck in the same position …fighters get caught in the moment …the corner is there as an outside voice ….but either way …will be a great rematch ..wish them both the best

Smilla was being nice. Holding back her powerful kicks and knees. When she kicked one of the best and most powerful male Thai boxers in the world: Rodtang. He was folded like a piece of paper and it seemed like he left the ground for a second. She was kind to Jackie Buntan and I love that but Buntan should really learn from that and not fight the 17-year-old who in 1 year will be stronger and in 2 years even more strong on so on every year until maybe peaking somewhere between 26-30.

Conditioning between Jackie and Smilla looked very different by start of round 4. If this isn't fixed, good luck with that rematch. That's max 5" height difference in Smilla's insta pic, no way Smilla is >5'9".
I favor Jackie in the rematch. She makes the right adjustments and beats Smilla Sundell.

The think is that Smilla adjusted during the fight while Jackie didn’t. The same will happen again. Smilla will adjust if Jackie has a better game plan the next time. The longer the fight goes on, the more dominant Smilla will be.
