- A controversial topic. Iman Barlow has had to retire early due to unnecessary inactivity. Watch what you sign people, these contracts are more often than not, a career ender.

I say this as someone who was a fan of ONE until the later half of 2023, but I just cant look past all what's happened. Chatri et al are so blatantly conniving and they've ruined too many peoples careers. I'm truly upset it took me as long as it had to realize this.
Absolutely, I just made my own comment on this because I felt like I needed to go into greater detail than you did to really put into perspective how messed up it is.
@@decidingpaper6324 Well said
When I came out to Thailand my goal was ONE, now I’m leaning way more towards RWS, their contracts are way better and it feels more like real Muay Thai
Great video mate 💪🏽
I think alot of people are changing their goals to RWS. Definitely still has a real relationship with Muay Thai. It's undeniable
Ennahachi had one fight since 2021, they shelved Panpayak, they are probably going to leave Di Bella and Nicolas to gather dust on the shelf since they dared to win title fights as B-sides, and Samy Sana hasn’t had a fight in three years. Absolutely diabolical devious work.
As for the contract itself? They own your likeness FOREVER, EVEN AFTER YOU DIE! (WTF?!), and apparently you can’t say anything negative about them even after you leave, along with the fact any legal dispute has to be settled in the notoriously pro-corporate Singapore law system. (There’s a lot more I either didn’t mention or forgot about but their contracts are absolutely UNHINGED!)
And as for Meksen, they basically gave her a bunch of overmatched opponents while letting Janet Todd hold the belt despite being inactive, and then they fed both her AND Todd to Petjeeja (Thankfully I hear Meksen’s fighting Buntan for the belt now). I suspect they may do the same with both Takeru Segawa and Masaaki Noiri, two of K-1’s stars. (the latter was signed a day or two ago). In the case of Takeru, he was THE main poster boy for K-1.
As a fan of ONE, I enjoy the fights but as Ames said we can’t look past what goes on behind the scenes. Chatri is just so scummy and hypocritical (he preaches honor and respect and then insults the Japanese kickboxing scene for absolutely no reason) that he makes the president of Lion Fight (who is notorious for not paying fighters) look like a saint in comparison.
That was some good facts for people to read. I am not a fan anymore, due to all of the above and more
@@Team_Pinky_Muay_Thai And who can blame you? Almost no one.
Ennahachi duck Superlek about 6-7 times with many reasons until he can’t make flyweight so I understand why ONE is really pissed. About Panpayak I think he had a daughter so he isn’t ready to fight I think. Chatri had an interview that Panpayak didn’t accept to fight Nabil about 3 times so Nabil had a fight with Superlek.
@@anawachtasavongnonta3231 thanks for the info, but it doesn’t excuse how often this happens
@@decidingpaper6324I agreed that ONE have a lot of problems even now that ONE has a great success in Muay Thai market. I know that mma is popular around the world but ONE have more success in MT market than in MMA. For kickboxing I think it is a niche market with some hardcore fanbase. MT is similar to kickboxing as niche sport but now ONE have a powerful support from Thai military and general Thai people so it is understandable that ONE like to focus on MT more than other disciplines. Therefore it suck that other fighters was shelved for a long time which ONE need to figure something out.
Very interesting to hear this. And this now explains why another favorite Panpayak has not been seen in ages and he is one who should be an international superstar.
Unfortunately all too common. Once they turn down a fight, for any reason, they get shunned
Every division seems to have a few favourites and then the rest are just fed to the favourites.
A perfect understanding of it haha
Seems to apply to the MMA as well as Kickboxing and Muay Thai
@@decidingpaper6324 absolutely
IDK anything but does this mean she just can't fight at all now? Like anywhere?
Pretty much. Unless it was her own show, I doubt it. Not sure what they could do about it
@@Team_Pinky_Muay_Thai that’s insane. Absolutely insane.
love it .. straight talk
Always brother
One FC was like this since the beginning. Remember when Angela Lee vs Istela nunes? Angela missed weight but One still let her fight n keep the belt, Istela team not happy with this n they went to UFC after that. Now the same thing Christian Lee has not fought for 2 years, he still keep the belt n the lightweight division have been stand still since then..the favouritism in One FC is ridiculous n unprofessional
It's so obvious too, right?!?! Smila just got stripped of her belt coz she missed weight. She is clearly not one of their pets. It's sad for the fighters, as no one actually gets treated the same.
Definitely devastating news! 😭
For sure. So unfair
💯
It's definitely hard on the fighters
