Randy, you look like you're having that time of the month... but a few ones in a row. 🤣 At least you got to travel and have a little break (no pun intended... 😅).
The moment the car was revealed, I knew the ABC system had a problem - and I've never been near a Mercedes! I'm starting to think that ABC means Always Bring Cash.
Alex at Legit Street cars just rebuilt an ABC in an CL600 (CL65?). It's actually not that difficult if you're through and methodical about it. However, you will also need a good scan system like the Star diagnosis, or equivalent to get everything working again. Even he made some mistakes that other DIYer's can learn from. One of the great benefits of You Tube. Of course, it can get very expensive, but most of the time, it's the cheaper parts that fail, like the lines here. If you have time, and don't need the car, it's probably good to remove the whole system, and put it back together, replacing anything defective. Or install a retrofit coil over system. . .
@@perryelyod4870 That's where I know about ABC systems from, been watching the entire build. Also why I know not to by a vehicle with it. Mike if you read this, be sure to do the ABC dance for us in a future video.
Hey, Mike! New subscriber, I found you through Randy. Just wanted to say you seem like a great guy. Hope things go well with the Mercedes. Looking forward to the next video.
Hi Michael! You and I worked together at OKCFOX Until I left in 2019 and went back on the road with an undisclosed band! Your channel is fantastic!! Mercedes SL600 is a grand car!! Really looking forward to the next chapter!
At least Randy can help you out with all that he learned from his S600! Looks as though it might work out to be a good purchase. Nothing wrong with it that money can't fix. (Just how many $$ though?)
Looks like your both having lots of fun, I love these videos where you go off together and have an adventure. Looking forward to the next part of the trip
Hey Mike I'm sure you already found the problem why it won't shut off after removing the key, but on the off chance you haven't get a couple cans of electronic parts spray remove the fuse boxes and hose them down. I had a Volvo that did the same thing and found that the heater core had leaked and got into the fuse box. After spraying it down and letting it dry I put the fuse box back in and it was good to go. That and a new battery because you know how European cars are about batteries and electronics not working right with weak or old batteries. Anyway thanks for another great video. As always stay safe.
Hi from uk MRM👋 pleased you got her up as them suspension systems are horribly awkward 👍 big shout to rocky @ Rockys machine and repair some guys making time out his schedule👍👍 and might have dodgey key or ignition switch possibly some time fuel pump relay switch to constantly open or closed ?? You dont have much luck with transmission ecus maybe it need oiling up first or summit😂😂 and also on disconnecting battety a little tip if helps for draining pcm bcms etc (leave live connected to battery ..disconnect neuatral/negative and put rag or summit between battery and terminal to fully isolate! Jump cable from positive to negative terminal only leave for 10 maybe 20 mins (drain all bcm pcm values) ignition on and leave for minute or two then cycle ignition 2 times to let car know in learn mode (start car now) then cycle everything like gears etc dont move car tho allow to heat cycle and drive normally no heavy throttling for first 30-50miles and car will re educate all values to best it can or what you teach it it will re learn fuel values and trims for tps etc too) great episode pleased got yhese 2 cars bit noticed s**t happened man guys but in good hands now both of them lol thanks for your time and be safe see you soon👍👍👋
Loving this video series! I know this has been much more difficult than the trip to NY to pick up the Buick, but I think those videos were a little too edited down. These have been much better. There's more conversation, more scenery, more Mike and Randy. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Mike! Casper The Friendly Gost Escaped Randy's house and Casper is in your V-12 Mercedes ! 👻🤣( the haunted house out in the county with the shop ) that's a very Nice V-12 Mercedes Mike!🤠👍🏻
This was a fun one!:).. and nice to not feel alone in problems as we’re all in the same boat. I think she’ll turn out to be a solid one, but I have too much of a soft spot for these W220.. Lol
I got a 2003 s600 and when I first got it drove fine then it sat for a few days and wouldn’t start just cranks thinking it has a wiring issue anyone got any ideas
Great video Mike, I'm in ky 4th Benz these days, a w205, I've gone and tried Infiniti and BMW, they just aren't the same. My wife rolled a C400 with ky 4 year old son in the back doing 100, and they both walked away from it unharmed. I will always own Benz after that. Keep up the great content, looking fwd to more 👌
Could you explain in a next episode the letters? The 560sec was 8 cilinder. The 600sel a 12 cilinder saloon. So this is a 600s? What is the difference?
May the fun begin, i’ve seen that you were having troubles with this car to begin with already before the video came out because of Facebook and Instagram! I’ve done similar road trips and several coach buses and school buses, when it comes to coach buses, I was going on athletic trips with a bunch of friends from my school, be ready to see on the first clip I was coming back to school from a field trip on my science class! I was headed to places such as Indiana, Tennessee, and Ohio! Toward the end of the vlog, you’re going to see an old video from my schools prom in 2018! For that we got to write an a limo! But in the limo clip, you’re going to hear us talk about vodka, keep in mind, we were pretending that water and soda was! Also, at the very end, you’re going to see one of my dorm parents attempting to do donuts in our campus parking lot with a state vehicle, you may hear me streaming music while recording. I was recording on a iPod touch which is like an iPhone, but it doesn’t make phone calls!
Please, Please! Fix those rotors and calipers! There's no dignity in such a magnificent beast! Quick with a can of grey cast iron paint! Did Rocky swage you new hoses on your existing tubes?
That was a highly likeable episode! Cato and me are thinking of a W220 red pig, but the car looks way too elegant to match the red pig label, a shame. 😁😁
Nice car. Funny how randy's car has one color on his video and on yours is another. All joke aside you have some work ahead but when you will be done the car will be a monster
I love the w220 s class, problably my favourite mercedes ever, just make sure the suspension air bag doesnt have any cracks on it, the fact that the car wasnt completly slammed to the ground in the first place is a good sign
I figured out where I know you from. You're on the news. Brotha I was like where do I know this guy. Then I seen an old clip of you today and it clicked
Gluttons for punishment should be a term of endearment for owning an ABC suspended Mercedes. Ameri-flex here in Tulsa is the place to go for rebuilding hoses to higher than spec burst pressure and the prices are cheap. They have done right by me a few times.
Randy was insane to think he could drain and replace the trans fluid and do an oil change in 40 minutes, doubly insane thinking he could do it that fast in a parking lot.
Why do you do this, Mike? Your a brave soul, and you can't resist a challenge. Someone says no one buys this model of Mercedes and you are automatically how to get it home and how long it will take until you can drive it. Much like the other famous TH-cam who lays down ten grand on a car he hasn't checked out because the challenge is there. Both of you can't wait to see who wins the race. The fellas holding the short, sharp sticks or the bear who they just jabbed in the backside with those sticks. Your going to look good in the car as your going down the road.
This was an epic adventure!!
Randy,
Yep it was! And I can't wait to see what happens on part 2 on Mike's and your Channel!🤠👍🏻
