The thermostat is probably stuck open. Once you replace it and it gets to around 80ºC the mpg will be better.
If the temp gauge is accurate its running a little on the cool side - maybe somebody took the thermostat out ? Anyway, you might improve the MPG a little if you could bring it up to 80 or so.

should be 85 to 92°C (at least it was either 87 or 92, depending on the thermostat back then in my W210 Diesel)
Yeah, that temp reading is too low. Definitely an open/missing thermostat. My W204 C200 was exactly the same. A brand new thermostat fixed the problem.
She is running really cool to be on the road
When AAR is around you his personality is totally different than when he is on his own on his channel. Shame he ain't like this all the time, as this is probably closer to his real personality which comes across much more humble and likable.
Plus you are a very nice human being, and he probably feels relaxed around you, as when people start get successful then people tend to want to be your friend for the wrong reasons.

She made it as predicted!!! These older Benzes were better built than they are today. I'd take any of the 80's-90's Benzes any day of the week over the new ones. Plus, the styling is timeless!!

Your engine temp is far too low, check the thermostat.

Talking MB, I just bought a 06 E320 CDI with 175k. Amazingly, I got 45.3 MPG driving it 300 miles home at 75 MPH. The CDI turbo-diesel has unreal torque with the awesome mileage! Highly recommended even though my old 300D and 300SD are still my favorites! My 06 color appears the same as yours (smoke silver/code 702)!
Mike you are a diehard supporter of Mercedes Benz but you are a good friend to the end and you are a good example of true friendship between you and Randy both of you have each other’s back in the end

Easy peasy this one, with a new air filter and premium fuel 30 mpg are possible.
Please use 'Diese' for a hypermiling video, it's super comfortable and 40mpgs are doable. 😁😁

Love that Benz, looks so elegant and classy in that colour with the chrome elegance trim and polished alloys. These w202s inspire confidence with their reliability, competence and efficiency which borders on the boring but makes for a serious long distance mile muncher. Cheap at twice the price I'd say. 4 days without a shower, thank goodness it's not smell'o'vision! 😋

Use some rust converter on that rust.
Nice Baby Benz, you'll need to change the thermostat. Engine is barely 60c/140f, you'll improve gas mileage when get engine on operating temperature.

Temp on c230 or any Benz should be below 80c , car is running too cool , suspecting a bad temp sensor and thermostat,it would have gotten above 30mpg
The Benz has a Seabrook Island Property Owners Association gate pass. That’s just down the road from me, higher-end gated community. So Im thinking someone who is not among the 95% owned it.
