DRILL for DISCUS, GLIDE SHOT and ROTATIONAL SHOT
This DRILL provides an easy way for throwers to have a tactile experience of what it should feel like and how important rotating the hips before the release of the shot put and discus throw is to success.
Power Position/ Stand Throw DRILL.
Athletes who shift will hit the hurdle with the left hip and my never hit the hurdle with their right hip.
Athletes who don't turn the right foot, knee, hip enough will stop short of the hurdle leaving the right hip open at release.
Been watching discuss videos for a month now and this drill is GOLD. Nobody talked about this important aspect..
Very underrated and valuable drill. The tactile nature of it is key otherwise its almost an abstract concept to teach young throws. Thank you very much
I will be using this with my throwers. Very good drill
I came to this video because I saw videos of me throwing and I knew I wasn't getting my right hip into the throw. Now, I can visualize and practice the proper technique. Thanks.
Keep working on it! Thanks for watching!
Interesting drill; thanks for sharing!
Wow this drill is awesome. I will use the next I get in the ring. GO DAWGS
Yes this is awesome!!! Thank you for posting this
Very frequently, we find, that simple things are very effective
Outstanding
Interesting drill very nice
Thanks a good drill
Excellent
How can you throw 7.26 kg shot put with this hip moment?
Got a drill for a thrower whose left hip refuses to go straight? She never fully extends her left leg so she almost bends forward at the hips at the throw. I cannot get her to push through the hips
Try having her throw into a wall and throw higher and higher each throw. Extending the hips up and not bending at the waist will unlock higher throws up the wall. Then see what happens back in the ring
@@throwbigthrowfar_X I appreciate the idea. Thats something Ive been doing with most of the team. Emphasizing the chest/hips will choose the trajectory especially when dealing with the discus
