I’m Japanese.Sorry for my poor English. I throw a shot in junior high school. I always use this video as a reference. My dream is to appear at the Olympics.I will do my best to become a player who carries the Hinomaru!
I like this, great example for my beginner girl shot putters. Only thing I will not have them do is simulate the action of swinging out the elbow on the turn and throw. Elbow doesn't swing out with the shotput pushing hand still at the neck. Elbow follows the push of the shot put not swing out.
Just what I needed for instruction. BUT, it is SO UN-NATURAL to throw when you are bent back in a "C" position. But, that's what all the champions do so I will have to overcome my "natural" tendency to stand upright and have the ball forward of my hip. Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video. Maybe now I'll be able to beat all those old farts in the 70-75 age group who keep beating me each year in the NY Senior Games.
great stuff coach, I'm starting my coaching career and have an athlete that needs the feet timing to be better any tips on drills to get these feet hitting the floor at similar times and no the left being so slow to come down?? thanks!! will be watching more of your content im already a fan!
Keep your left foot low as you kick/push it toward the board. If its hovering over the ground as you glide it should land when your right lands. Its ok if it is a moment later than the right foot.
You'll notice the first glider pushes off the heel and the second off the toe...I'm a big believer that the glide works most efficiently off of the heel. Its impossible to extend completely to drive across the ring if you push off the toe. I also believe that the turning the right foot in the air on the way to power is much easier after pushing off the heel than the toe. Athlete 1 had lots of reps doing these drills and started pushing off the toe and transitioned to pushing off the heel. Athlete 2 had many fewer reps with these drills and was working on making the transition to pushing off the heel still.
@@throwbigthrowfar_X what do you start working on in October with fall sport athletes ? Just getting stronger , flexibility/mobility, speed, dynamic explosive actions, what outlying goals?

Great effort by you to demostrate this type of drill

Nice job Coach! Very methodical.

Thanks coach
I can never get my feet to land at the same time

Tess I really like you 💓
What is technical drill
Coach, thoughts about athletes driving off of the TOE vs. the HEEL out of the back?
+Jess Rotter I think it's critical that athletes drive off the heel!

I have a question. When you land at the glide should you be as low as you started. I see them gradually increase
The key is landing low on the right knee. Ok for the chest to rise as long as the right is loaded.
Purple shirt I bet is good
Both had very good HS Careers! Catch Erin Dunning and Tess Keyzers competing for the Minnesota Gophers in 2019.
