Why subconscious PERSUASION is wrong 😡🤬

  • If you can trust the sales trainers on the internet, and you can’t, subconscious persuasion is truly a magical power.
A few very confident people, well let’s be honest, mostly men, seem to posses it and are willing to teach it to you in their book, slash online course, slash training seminar. The only thing they ask in return is large sums of cash.
Why do I care? I used to be one of those guys and in this video I want to look at the reasoning that changed my mind.
We will get into some of the ethical problems with subconscious persuasion, how manipulation actually works and its limitations and why I believe the world will be better off without it.
I’m Jasper Geluk, an ex-NLP trainer, and this is Personal Development Explained.

YES! Happy to find your videos while I was weeding through personal development. It looks like a lot of honesty, energy and creativity goes into making these videos. I hope you create more enlightening videos :)

Thanks 🤗 Yes they are a lot of work but I make them out of love for the subject and video making. Got a couple more in the pipeline right now, however my wife and I just got a little baby boy a few weeks ago so have been a bit preoccupied 😅 Slowly starting to work again so at some point the new ones will be done!

Subscribed! I really appreciate your honesty and sharing your experience with NLP and the self help industry. While I haven’t attended any seminars of NLP, I’ve always had a love hate relationship with NLP due to its pseudoscientific nature and lacking scientific support or evidence. I came across your videos not so long ago when I was contemplating about signing up to a NLP seminar with Bandler. I also think some of the techniques or methods taught in NLP are useful but I don’t believe it’s worth paying tens and thousands of dollars to attend the seminars. Do you believe most of their technique could be self taught by reading and watching free videos online, and if so do you have any recommendations on books to read? Keep up the great work!

Hi Kenjii, thanks for the nice words 😊 Happy you like the video’s. It took my quite a while to start sharing my honest opinion about the industry. It really is such a difficult situation where on the one hand there is so much good in doing personal development (and bits of NLP too for that matter) and at the same time so much nonsense also. Yes I do think you can learn most if not all valuable parts of NLP via books and video’s. That is how I started out. You can find so much content online if you search for it. Most of the effect usually comes from you being motivated to make the changes and actually do the things you want, if that makes sense 🤓
At the moment I’m actually working on a few video’s highlighting some of the bits I find useful from NLP but since it takes me one or two months per video to make them it will be a while before they are all online 😅
Wish you all the best and let me know if you have any more questions you want me to answer in the comments or in future video’s!
      Best wishes, Jasper

@@PDE_JasperGeluk i truly enjoy your beautifully made videos, i know what it takes, but in my humble opinion, your message is more important than the timely produced videos. Appreciate sharing your experience and would love to hear more!

I commented before. About translating a video you made in french and putting it on my channel this is the second clip I watched and again love the way you do it. I can't do it you can keep it the same just add your words on the bottom and translate them into different languages. (French) I talk about you and NLP in my AA meetings you are clear and to the point. please with sugar on it consider it we really need you here in Quebec and french is known all over too all I can say is please.

Hi there, thank you for your nice words! Yes there is a lot of time and practice that goes into these video’s 😅 Hope you are doing well in your journey of personal development! For now I won’t have time to translate into French. If you want to do the work of translating I would be happy to upload the translations to my video’s so other French speakers can learn from them. Also let me know if you have anything in particular you would like me to make a video on. I won’t be able to cover everything but always looking for input. Merci! Jasper 😊

Thanks for asking 😅 My wife and I got a baby last summer so that has been taking some getting used to. I actually have two unfinished videos that are mostly recorded in the pipeline. Also working on some short film ideas hope to bring out soon 🤓
