sketchup is really getting there. I like using it to build sets for scenes in comic books, so the things look consistent from panel to panel

Can I use this tool with contour lines I imported from another CAD file? I've used the sandbox tool to create the terrain by the contour lines but now when I select Make Crowd, nothing happens and I'm not seeing the preview before hand. Thank you!

When I try to run the download make fur, sketchup "does not recognize this as a model". The heck. :(

You may want to watch this video - it's not a model file that you downloaded - th-cam.com/video/r1EcMNiW7t0/w-d-xo.html

Hi, I have a tree component, that I resized to a proper height (about 20 m), but Make_Fur just makes trees about 8 m. Why? And big thanks for your video... all of them!

You probably resized it outside the component. The only way a scale change is reflected across multiple objects is to click inside the component, then scale it

Use low polygon trees? only have high polygon where necessary? Use proxies?

Dammit. I've been looking all over the web! How do you make the grass cover the entire surface of your object?! It's a flat 2D object, lake shaped with curved edges. For some reason seemingly no matter what I do the thing only puts grass on one end of the surface, leaving it mostly bare.
It seems like everything is working perfectly (scatter, distribution, density), yet it crowds all the grass on one small end portion of my object. Darn it! IDK. Lord help me!

Is your object one uninterrupted face? Did you soften the geometry like I did around 5:00 into the video? If your surface is broken up into a bunch of different faces, it will only spread on that one face, not across your whole model.
