As someone who has bought an account i can tell you why i did it, i used to play toontown online and had a 87 laff with 3 maxed gags, i wanted to find and account at or slightly below where i was so it would be like i was picking up when i left off. And being that now im an adult and not a kid like when i played toontown back in 2009 i dont have months of playtime to get it back to where it was. And by the way some of us have money and $100 for an account is not that serious were not children anymore i work for my money and if i wanna buy an account around where i left off as a kid its my prerogative

I feel that people just want to get rid of their accounts and are able to get a ton of money off someone. Imagine some noob that used to play tto, but forgot all the tricks and gag combos. Then that person bought a maxed toon. That person is gonna make bad decisions on their toon. Theres no point in having a high toon if ur not gonna work on it. Its like the original person owning the account was a slave for the buyer. The bidders could have forgotten that TTR is a free game that you dont have to pay for, unlike TTO. Ppl selling virtual game accounts that are free smh

its so ubsured so repulsive, i never selling my max level cat toon, it would be terrible this ebay thing is a scam! never buy things on ebay! one the many reasons i dont buy things ebay inlcuding the toons are because prices are crazy and the toons are not even worth a cent! id rather play the actual game which i do then buy these scams! thank you loopy for giving us all common sense! Okay lets break it down like this. 81 Laff Points. How long does it take to get to 81 Laff points? 3 months (13 hours a week) or roughly 160 hours? That's like paying him $1.50 per hour for the work he has done. Well worth $255 if you ask me. You get a toon ready for HQ for less than minimum wage. People pay real money to max their WoW characters, or Clash of Clans, both of which are virtual games. Some of us can't sink hours upon hours into a game just to max a character. Sometimes you just want to run with the big dogs and not be left behind.
Then in that case used sandwitch for 20$ on eBay! Get it know!! (I'm just kidding)
By the way like if your wallet come straight out of your pocket when you see this.

I mean this isn't really unique to Toontown. People sell accounts for other MMOs like WoW and FFXIV, in-game items, even Pokemon teams.
It's still stupid though.

Just found a 114 laff toon for sale for _250 DOLLARS_, A supposed "Uber Cat" with no image, and one guy selling 2 toons both 24 laff with a doodle, one for 50 dollars and the other for 55. INSANE. This doesn't seem to be the _ONLY_ game this is happening to, I have also found minecraft, ROBLOX and Webkinz accounts.

Not really related to TTR, but I used to play a game called MovieStarPlanet and the same kind of thing happens on there. People will sell their account for around $200 just because it is a high level and has some rare items. Rare items on MovieStarPlanet are treated like the holy grail, especially if they are ultra rares from back when the game opened and people will pay anything from around $50-$100 just for that one item.. ONE ITEM!.. just because it's considered a rare. I could never agree with spending that kind of money on one item of virtual clothing.

someone is trying to sell an account that is only a 16 laff toon that just started out, and apparently the only thing good about it is that it has 5k jellybeans in the bank. and even that isn't even a lot. but hey "you wont have to return to the trolley a lot when doing tasks and restocking on gags!". i bet i could make a toon thats 17 laff, get level 2 gags, sell it on ebay for like 5-10 dollars, then repeat. and if people are actually dumb enough to buy these toons i bet i could make 300+ dollars a month

At the discount game store near my house they had pc games cheap. One was Disney's toontown online, the ORIGINAL game and box for 0.25p (that's about $0.50 for america) and I didn't get it since the game isn't running anymore.
Then I remembered a day later it was cheap so I went back there and... gone. I still regret not getting it.

It worked like warcraft in the early days too, buy the game, buy subscription; play the game. I believe when cashbot hq (or around then) was out, they just gave the download rather than a cd, because it cost too much to ship over seas. XD

I feel like the person who leveled this toon up is a noob who thought he had almost-maxxed gags and lag who wanted an easy 255 bucks.
Also this kind of thing happens everywhere, especially on lesser known mmorpg games; usually ppl work on an account, level it and sell it; why? Because the people who buy it are too lazy and want power and bragging rights.
I've seen this go as far back as Runescape days. Rich kids wanting the right to brag but without the effort. It usually ends up them getting bored, buying more because they feel empty or if there's any form of pvp (wilderness for runescape) getting killed by a skilled player.
The first and last I've seen in towns and cities ppl bragging about their bought account and I even did the last one once.
Yeah but even on those it's a bit more understandable than Toontown Rewritten.. Those games you have to pay for or work significantly harder to achieve what they sold.
At most I price my maxed out toons at around 50 bucks. Not sure why they sell but, hey, they sell. Not on ebay though.
