Know him since years and visit him and Fujikawa san in Japan 2017. Naoki is a real artist and has many talents as I know from now on. ✌🏻

These pots take bonsai containers to the next level. The pot made of three different Clay's, to get that multi colored un glazed pot is super/fantastic/art/creativity at its best.

Didn’t know that Maeoki San did pottery.
But, as he is with bonsai, he does it superbly!!!
    Thanks Bjorn for the share

These are absolutely stunning! I’m blown away at nit only how creative he is, but the execution. Just incredible. I’ve amassed a pretty fair collection of high quality containers and I’d be honoured to have any one of these in my collection. Thanks so much for sharing, Bjorn.

Is this gentleman your old colleague from Japan? Whether he is or not, his pots are exquisite! Never seen anything like it anywhere. He is supremely talented! Those pots are really works of art. I wish him well and with that innate talent will get him far. We are told that bonsai means tree and pot. When you think that some bonsais take decades to perfect, it is only fitting that they deserve pots that push the boundaries. Forgive me for my ignorance, but most bonsai pots look like they are mass produced, as simple pots are the current rage. But as bonsai professionals push the boundaries of their trees, it is awesome that the pot makers do the same.

Just wow! Such as amazing work! I enjoyed your podcast with Maeoka-san before and these pots represent his artistic sense and meticulous work. I love the one with red/black clay - simple yet elegant!

I never knew your padawan did ceramics, damn he is skilled!! Could he make more or less money in ceramics vs being a bonsai master in Japan, having in mind his skill in ceramics looks to be amongst the best there!^_^
