Love your videos Kent! I grew up in Texas and now live in Colorado. So many of your stories of family remind me of mine. So sorry you lost your house in the South Fork/Salt Fire. I was down there for a week working with Samaritan's Purse Disaster Relief back in June. Hopefully, you got a chance to be blessed by that organization and volunteers. Keep the videos rolling...I'm cookin' a roast this Sunday for sure!!!
We did get to visit with them folks, good people they are and thanks for helping out
Kent I will forever be gratefull. Years ago I watched a video of you cooking beans and I had never eaten beans before, so I tried and got hooked! Meanwhile I started a permaculture on my property and now heirlooms beans growing all over the place, waiting to be eaten in a warm nutritious soup this winter.
Thank you !!!
Your welcome, I do love some beans
What a cool story, and plus a “ beanie baby “ was born ! 💯👌😎
miss Sunday dinners at grandma house, no one cooks like that since - God bless You Kent Shannon and our country 🙏 🗽🤠🇺🇲
Thanks and God bless you
I wanted to write the same exact thing. I´m turning 61 this year, but the memories of sitting around my grandparent´s table on Sundays after church here in the piney woods of East Texas as still very fresh. Maw-maw was a great cook and baker.
Same, same! God bless.
Another great show Ken! Love your camp and wagon and you including your 4 legged pals. Thanks so much for sharing them & including your witness and your love for our country.
We really appreciate you!
Another delicious classic. Glad you got a new video and new camp in New Mexico. Blessings.
Thanks Richard
I love these videos so wholesome. Makes me miss my grandparents.
Mr. Rollins, you are a breath of fresh air my friend. God bless the compound
Thank you!
Thank you for never forgetting the simple good times. And for sharing what life is supposed to be about.
This video warmed my heart Kent!
Kent, WOW you brought back so many memories of Sunday dinner after church. Also of neighbors and friends who were there to lend a helping hand if you needed anything. This is what is so very wrong with America. NO ONE CARES ABOUT ANYONE ANYMORE< THEY ARE TO BUSY LOOKING OUT FOR THEMSELVES.
You’re absolutely right, people seem to be in such a hurry, to get no where and they’re leaving all the good parts of life behind.
Kent that's a good looking camp wagon and the place y'all are at now. Really enjoy y'all's videos and the yummy food. God bless you and the wife and pups
Thanks and God bless you as well
Oh wow it’s beautiful there, Kent! I love the relief of the cool mountain air during the hot summer. You just appreciate it so much. Pot roast looks amazing, BTW and the new/old wagon is gorgeous. God be praised you and your family are doing well. ✝️🙏🏻
We are blessed more that we deserve
Been a few years since I had a good roast. Miss my Dad's cooking.
Please don't forget that you can take the leftover pot roast, dice it up with the gravy to make a hash that you can store in the fridge overnight, THEN bring it out next evening and heat it up, slop it on tortillas with cheese/salsa/sour cream or however you like it, to make one of THE BEST leftover dishes that is HASH BURRITOS.
Yep so good it is
Leftover pot roast makes great sandwiches.
That sounds yummy
This is the absolute best! I do this all the time if there is any left overs😊
That's what I do after Thanksgiving. Take everything leftover and throw it all together in a skillet. I mean everything lol. Turkey mashed taters gravy stuffing green beans cranberry sauce. Heat it all up to a slop and dig in . Fantastic
The new location looks very nice and the temperature sounds outstanding and love me some good old pot Roast
It was so nice to film in the cool
That roast and those veggies along with the biscuits would be one delicious meal! And don't forget the gravy!
Your videos are as wholesome as your food ! ❤ hope you are all well ❤️
God bless ❤
The simplicity of good ingredients in the hands of Chef Kent. Thank you.
That reminds me of Sunday dinner at grandmas house. Gosh I sure miss that!!!
Was sure good times it was
Thanks for making these videos Kent
You are very welcome
My parents, aunts, uncles and my grandparents were around in the Great Depression era. One of my maternal aunts, who is in her 90s, told me once that long ago, people did a lot of sharing. She said that once someone hunted a moose, and they shared the meat with others, so they could have food to eat.
My dad is 94, and he and most of his siblings (one passed away as an infant) would remember the Great Depression era and what was happening. They remember what it was like on the farm in Alberta, Canada, with their parents.
My (late) mother, and her 3 older sisters, were also around in those days, and they would remember what it was like with their parents on their farm in Alberta, during the 1930s, and in the 1940s.
We really can learn alot from these people who lived in North America, during the Great Depression times. There is a lot of good wisdom to be learned.
I also put onions, as well as carrots and celery in my pot roast, on the bottom, because it acts as a nice barrier for the beef, and it imparts added flavour. A good pot roast is definitely top notch comfort food. The pot roast you made looks so good.
Thanks to our farmers and ranchers for helping to feed us. I'm originally from a very large farm in Alberta. Also, thanks to our troops and our veterans for their services. Cheers, Kent and Shannon and God Bless! 🙏✌️
Dwayne thanks so much for sharing and God bless you my friend
This video brought a tear to my eye. What a man you are. Shan is great too 😊Just reminds me of simpler times. I’m just right at 40 but remember when my family would gather together and we loved on one another. Breaks my heart so many families have broken up. Different times. I’ve first hand lived through the transition of the internet and though it has its so many uses, it has destroyed our ways of living in many ways. Thank you for using it to bless us Mr. Rollins. May God bless you and your family.
Thanks and God bless you as well
God bless the Rollins family. And the old fashion cooking always takes me home. The wagon is awesome Mr Kent. Thank you Ms Shannon for your awesome videos. God bless everyone in this beautiful world we live in
We thank you so much, and God bless you as well
This has been one of my favorite videos you’ve posted because of the family connection and photographs! Please…more about your mom and everyone who helped steer you through cooking! And Especially thank you for sharing the prayer that was said by your family before eating! May the Lord bless you and Shannon, Sir! 🙏🏻🙋♀️❤️
Thanks so much, she taught me a lot about life and cooking
Yep! Love a chuck roast pot roast - it's a cheap cut! Really feeds the family for an affordable price.
That it does
Love the fact you keep Ol' Glory in your camp area .... Thank you, Shan, the Pups.... you are American Icons
We owe it and those who have protected it so much
Fantastic down home (everybody's home) eats for sure. I feel sorry for any new kids who don't grow up in a house where the family meal was king. We never ate fancy growing up but we sure ate hearty.
Us too!
That pot roast sure brings back some fond memories of a gentler, kinder time in my life. Carrots, potatoes, onions were all a staple for pot roast at home. Mom and dad are gone now for some years, but the memories will live as long as I do. Thanks for this Mr. Rollins. From one old cowboy to another, you nailed this one.
We thank you chuck for watching
Good times and good food . Pot roast is my favorite comfort .
LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND THE PUPS
Thanks
That is one nice new Chuck wagon. Kent don't forget get a LoJack for it.
Wonderful new camp Kent love chuck roast brings up memories of my grandmother. Thank you sir I needed that smile today. God bless you the pups and Mrs Shan.
Thank you and God bless you as well
This one was special. Good job y’all. Your words were as good as I imagined the roast was. Keep it up.
Thank you so much!
Love the new site! As a life long Okie I always look forward to mountain vacations. Original Seasoning is our go to spice. We use it literally every day. God Bless you Mr. Rollins, in a world that gets a little meaner everyday you and Shannon and the pups bring us all a little comfort and entertainment. 🤠🇺🇸
Oh how I love making pot roast for my family! Thanks for sharing 🤍☺️
I thought it was my imagination that the carrots were smaller adter cooking. Now I know the reason. Thanks Kent! Some of my favorite memories were of Sunday roast dinners. I still make it occasionally, even though its only me.
I remember those days when I was growing up and I had 5 brothers Mom and Dad we always ate every meal together. I miss those days
Me and you both
@@CowboyKentRollins my dad was an auto mechanic and my mom did upholstery work in the living room. My dad brought home about a hundred dollars a week in the 50s 60s. My mom made it a full business after we all grew up and did well. My dad in his 70 s worked as a bridge tender at night and he would go down to the pilings and fish for striped bass. He comes from a family of 14 children and was the best man I ever knew. Thank you for your comment Sir
Looks so delicious! Brings back the memories. Sometimes mom would put parsnips in it also if she had them, but that was rare. The table was always packed with people. Always someone would come over after church, and my parents made sure there was somehow always enough if someone showed up to the table with us. They often fed a lot of people in our family even though times were difficult for them as well. No one was ever turned away from the table hungry. If there was enough mom would wrap some helpings up to send home with them. Loved dipping buttered bread into mom’s homemade pot roast. Gravy over the potatoes I’d always mash up on my plate. After we prayed we’d dig in! Always loved hearing the deep voices of the men praying over the family, church, and food. Afterwards we’d have a dessert, even if it was only a bowl of ice cream. We kids world eat our desserts then go play in the yard until it was time to go for evening church services. Sometimes on the ride home after the evening service dad would stop at the dairy whip or the ice cream store. We’d enjoy some ice cream whether it was warm or cold out. Ice cream was an affordable treat back then, so we had it often. Back when you got a gallon of ice cream in the containers, and not what they sell now that is hard to find in the freezer section, because the containers are so small. We’d get home, and have a warm snack, even if it was just warm buttered toast, watch a bit of tv, get our baths as the next day was school and off to bed we would go. By the time mom got us all into bed the water was hot again for her bath. Dad would take his shower after she bathed, and we were all off in dreamland by then, awaiting the sunrise and the busy chirping of the birds to wake us up for school on Monday. A lot of memories in that pot of roast stew! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for sharing them were sure the good old days
Your stories are as much a part of your lore as your cooking is. Please keep the videos coming. And Majie has to be comfy at all times.
We will! yep he is overworked
Bringing back families is one of the biggest goals…We are too spread out amongst strangers
I'm in nursing school and I miss slaving in the kitchen. I was used to cooking for my family 2-3 times a day, and now I only get to cook a full meal once a week. 😢
Your still providing even when your in school, thanks for watching
Kent, I love seeing the joy you find in a simple meal...
Life is simple and food should be as well, thanks for watching
That looked good. Takes me back some years.
Thanks
One of my all time favorites! Mama would often make this before Church, and often invite the preacher, or a guest speaker to family dinner. On special; occasions, like Sunday dinner, she would always make scratch rolls, which were even better to slop up the juices. I still make but rarely, as too much for a single old man.
That Wagon is fantastic and the setting if perfect for cooking while you uplift peoples spirits in the process! GOD BLESS Kent Rollins!
Thanks so much
Incredible results and cooking on the ground doesn't seem to slow you down. Well done Kent!
Thanks
Wow! I haven't seen Clabber Girl in a long time! I'd do roasted vegetables, or mash & gravy for a side. Or steamed broccoli. 😊 And definitely yes, the best times in this life, are the God given simple times.
That is so true
Always been one of the best hearty meals during cold winter days
It has been 5 or 6 years I have been watching your videos that I have always wanted to to see you do a roast in the cast iron Dutch oven. You do make it different mom did but it will never taste better.

I haven’t been watching your videos long Mr Rollins but i would like to say thank you for everything you do. I’m going through a depressive state right now after i just lost my grandpop. You remind me so much of him, it makes me feel like he’s still here with me

Great memories! I remember my Mom doing the same thing on Sunday morning. All 7 kids, Mom and Dad would pile into the station wagon, church then almost always someone would be invited to dinner. We were all clean, and on time!
Yep good days, and great lessons to live by
This takes me back to my childhood and that was many moons ago, Thank You Sir! The only thing missing is celery. Mom used to put 3 or 4 pieces in hers. I'm gonna have to make a pot roast this Sunday.

Kent Rollins and his family are a national treasure! Great video my friend as always -
Thanks Jammie
Adding another comment.. those pictures and videos remind me of some of the old photos that I have of my parents, grandparents, and the rest of the relatives. I grew up around small farm towns in NE Iowa.
I sure miss those days
I do agree that those days were simpler
I sometimes think I was born in the wrong time
Yep. Smoker for a couple of hours with mesquite. Then cook accordingly in the oven or dutch oven outside.
Funny thing growing up I didn't care for a roast. But mom didnt wanna spend a whol lot of time cooking.
Your videos are better than anything on TV.
Thank you
Miss the Sunday dinners with the family.wish we still had those days
Yep they were sure great times
Man.. this makes me want to take a day trip through the Gila National Forest.
Good country that is, was a hunting guide there for along time
The wagon looks good and thank you for sharing these recipes with us
Our pleasure
Thanks again Kent! I've been craving this!!!!!!
You need to check out organic carrots the difference in flavor between a regular carrots you buy in the store in the organic carrots is amazing😊
You know, I've been thinking. When you use broth, be it beef or chicken, instead of broth, use beef or chicken stock. Stock has alot more flavor and will make a richer gravy. Your taste buds will thank you for it.
Casting a little dry instant coffee across the top of the raw roast is a tasty addition, too.
I’m definitely digging the new digs! ❤
That camp is lookin great with the new wagon…Adding your cooking increases everything around it 👍🏻🤩😊
How'd you know I got Chuck today?! Love you Kent God bless you and your family sir and let's have a fantastic meal.
We had beef roast at my grandma's almost every Sunday. This brings back great memories.
