I bought several sticks worth for our group to share and other items we know and enjoy. We ate em all up and later, much later i explained that they were testicles, not meatballs. Chewy but still good. Didnt help at the time they were fried and we dunked them in sweet and sour sauce (this was 10-15 years ago - pre keto).

  • @willgreen6289
    @willgreen6289 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think another aspect of this whole story relates to the question, ‘how “healthy” do we really need to be?’ Most people are following that SAD diet. Most Mediterranean are still eating lots of carb. We make a conscious effort to do a healthy lifestyle. We get down to the nitty gritty of the nutrition facts. We consume the right profiles of vitamins and minerals. We think about the way something is cooked and packaged and caught or harvested or the products that were used on the items throughout their growing lifespan. If we even just cut the sugar and flour from the diet we are doing so much good for ourselves. We are doing way better than the majority of society. If we start arguing about raw meat vs cooked or veggies being not ‘as’ healthy or should I or should I not drink the coffee then how actually beneficial is any of that? Isn’t the process of doing 95% of the healthiest diet good enough on the nutrition side when the 5% that isn’t the healthiest is because you care to not overthink, over fuss, over worry, over react about all of it and just live in the real world? Isn’t part of being healthy being relaxed mentally and physically and removing stress and having priorities and goal put into perspective?

    I hate that it seems like you have to be perfect with your diet these days. Most of the time I eat mostly whole foods and sometimes I eat more snacks. Sometimes I just want to eat for taste not because it’s the best thing to eat and that should be okay. We don’t live our lives like we did 1000s of years ago, so why do it with food. I have no idea what’s considered healthy these days. Everybody says something different.

      We have to enjoy life without going overboard to the point that it will affect our health. I mean this guy just eats raw meat that's gross and u would have to pay me to do that. And what about salmonella and other poison this can cause?

    Eating raw meat all the time is not for everyone. You should try a little though, you will feel AMAZING the next day. He definitely goes overboard by saying everything's toxic. But lots of vegetables have oxalates and that's the main thing to look out for in my experience. I had recurring small stones every six months or so over a period of 2 or 3 years. Spring 2021 was severe but I still passed the stones. Still I went to the hospital because I feared bladder infection. After that I became real disciplined about eliminating oxalates. I cut out almonds, cocoa, white beans, beets, whole grains, kiwifruit. Haven't had any stones return since then! What pisses me off so much is everyone calls this stuff "healthy" and "superfoods" and stuff like that AND IT LITERALLY PUT ME IN THE FREAKING HOSPITAL!!

    You know, to each his or her own. I know eating low carb has helped me loose weight. I do not do Keto extreme.
    We know people that live well over 100 and healthy do not do any diet. They eat what they have in their environment and traditions tell them. Definitely fruits, vegetables and a little meat cooked mostly except fruits. Some drink coffee, some do tea, some whatever they have available.
    There are many other variables that influence health...how much pollution, water quality, religious practices, family , environment and stress and many more.
    Do what you feel comfortable with. Be happy, be amiable, laugh, always open to suggestions to change.

    I wouldnt do only liver for a week you can end up with toxicity. Overloading with liver has caused that in a few people. Like Frank Tufano. It doesnt reflect how we'd eat in nature. We'd not have that much access to liver, it would make up a very small portion of our diet.

    What I don’t understand is why anyone would critique or criticize someone’s WOE. Variety is one of the great things we have been blessed with in our short time on this Earth. I eat primarily Keto/Carnivore but by no means do I think my way of eating is the most optimal way to eat. I believe you have to experiment with different foods to find out what YOUR body responds to physically and mentally. Do what works for you and to hell with what anybody else says or does. Also for those of us that are foodies, we came to Keto to be able to eat healthier but also to create a sustainable way of eating that we could live with but also lose some weight without feeling deprived. I eat Keto/Carnivore 95% of the time but the Foodie in me enjoys a good pizza (I’m from Chicago so my options are endless LOL) and burger and fries from time to time. So at the end of the day enjoy life. People who are comfortable with their way of eating wouldn’t be criticizing someone else. I personally don’t care how the next person eats because they are responsible for themselves. I have a hard enough time trying to maintain what I am doing so I certainly don’t have time to be all up in someone else’s sh*t. Just my 2 cents.

    I've tried eating cooked liver several times and I gag every time.. However if you cut it up into 1/2" cubes and swallow the pieces raw it tastes like nothing.. I swallow about 2oz of raw liver two to three times a week and treat the raw cubes like pills.. Down the hatch and a sip of milk or OJ.. Try this method out if cooked liver is unpalatable or the weird texture makes you gag..

    This guy looked so annoyed. Also he's being righteous. If salt and chili's are so bad for you the most of the world population would have been eliminated by the salt, vege, and chili pandemic. I mean come on don't call out fanaticism without calling out your own. You guys do a great job of explaining the keto lifestyle and also being forthcoming about it not being for everybody but everybody can use a low carb lifestyle.
