And you may say it’s not that serious, which is fine, I don’t choose to argue about whether someone should personally consider something important or not. At that point, you're nothing but a poser because you say one thing but do another. I like both style of tattoos. They both bring in something different. I personally prefer color because black and gray is boring to me. And I tend to think of bikers with bad tats. Of course, that's not always the case but that's just what pops into my head. But again, it's all about personal preference and no one should be shamed for liking one style over the other as it goes against being alternative anyway. Going against the grain, ya know? I wouldn't want a poser doing my future tats. I don't have any currently, but I have a HUGE project once I lose weight because it's supposed to be a symbol of my transformation when I'm done. I’ve only seen a few new school tattoos that I’ve liked but overall I agree, they are flat out ugly. They remind me of those T shirt designs from the 2000s that you’d see at K-Mart when that was a thing.
I do like a few of the designs, like the sweet goth chick with black and green hair's art, Kelly Dotty. I remember she had some paintings framed on the wall of some new school styled alternative women on the wall that were super awesome. As a goth guy myself, id totally get something like that tatted on me
Fon shouldn't have even been given a chance to explain himself. That horseshoe is backeards, that leg is broken, that tattoo is pale and faded. Awful tatt
I was just looking at it, and I agree. There’s no way a horse could ever position their legs like that. Not only would that mean the entire foot would have to be rotated at an awkward angle, it’s just not anatomically correct
It's ridiculous that in the earlier seasons, the color saturations weren't that popping and a lot of the tats looked years old. Then it the later seasons, the same judges say that the color saturation is bad and that the tat looks years old when the color saturation is way more than the first few seasons when they loved the tats. That makes no sense.
i feel like that was more the poor filming quality than the artists themselves. even in the newer seasons some of the tats they say are super saturated don’t look like it on the screen with their photos.
@@enbeast8350 Even if it's not the saturation of the recording quality and it's the standards, I don't understand how that calling the desaturated colors (so already several years old looking tats) to be fully saturated. Plus in the later seasons, they say that very saturated (if it's not the recording quality) tats aren't that saturated or pigmented. So from one extreme to the next and that not being fair is my point.
I am an artist still in art school and that golden gate Bridge did not deserve to be in an elimination. The line art makes sense since it's more far away aka perspective
The lineart for New School is to have bold, dark lines for the outline. His tattoo looks unfinished in that style. The bridge itself is fine (probably needs a black outline) with perspective, but it ultimately just doesn't look like a finished New School tattoo. As a piece of art, it looks great. But as a piece of art with a specific style it's trying to emulate, it just falls a little short. I didn't see the full episode, so there may have been worse tatts than the bottom 3 we were shown, but out of the 3, it did look the best
I'd like to see how judging would be if professional artists were judges.. some contestants should be eliminated far before some, and some are being eliminated although their piece is solid..
This is tru, I see it more and more as I watch ink master. They are more bias against black artist, even when they do a good tattoo they’ll try to find something to say. Tbh they can never do that to Anthony the guy who won ink master, he was too good of a artist.
It looked like a pig over a turd and the rest was too dark and unreadable. No, he didn't get screwed. You're probably not an artist/ tattoo artist if you think like that.
It was also the largest and would be the most difficult by far to cover. His colors weren't bright or saturated in some areas. It was hard to read. Etc.
23:20 the horse's bottom hooves are entirely upside down, how the heck did no one say anything?? Not to mention its weird lumps for hind legs. Also: looks like knockoff Woody and Bullseye
I think it was a knockoff of them. I don't think Fon even tried with thinking of a design so he slapped those two on and made up his own version of the characters.
I love New School. I’d love to get that style tattoo once I think of something. (Maybe a Kaiju?) To this day I will still defend Jordy’s food tattoo. I thought it was a cool design and I instantly knew what it was.
It would be *so* nice if they could take out all the cliche "Oooo all you other people better be scared coz I'm comin for ya!" " Hells yeah I want to be here, I'm here to win!" "The other artists won't know what's hit em" and just have them concentrate on their skills and elaborate on their art and aesthetic instead. Maybe, idk, even life each other up from time to time. Make it about the art instead of the contrived conflict perhaps.

I actually don't hate Black Spade or Boneface's tattoo. I will say though the cat being green was pretty bad. But the way the cats were outlined wasn't bad, it is just the color choices on two of the cats. Also I liked Jordi's tattoo even though it didn't fit color theory.

Yes I agree! Your comment made my day 😂
New School is just so ugly to me; but to each their own; it is their flesh after all.
As a goth guy myself, id totally get something like that tatted on me
Agreed. It's just too much like caricature artwork which is already a style I'm not fond of. Not my cup of tea
if i had that statue of liberty on me, i’d cry and just cover it with a black square.
Jordy got shafted, the beignets and jam jar looked like something out of a toddler's coloring book
@@cellie_bellie exactly.
21:56 Kelly Doty, never disappointing with her commentary
It's ridiculous that in the earlier seasons, the color saturations weren't that popping and a lot of the tats looked years old. Then it the later seasons, the same judges say that the color saturation is bad and that the tat looks years old when the color saturation is way more than the first few seasons when they loved the tats. That makes no sense.
i feel like that was more the poor filming quality than the artists themselves. even in the newer seasons some of the tats they say are super saturated don’t look like it on the screen with their photos.
Almost like standards change over time. Wild!
You can definitely tell who can actually draw and not just copy-paste, And you can DEFINITELY tell who has studied color theory.
Just when you think Nunez is starting to finally bias against women more, his seemingly insurmountable bias against black artists always wins lol
This is tru, I see it more and more as I watch ink master. They are more bias against black artist, even when they do a good tattoo they’ll try to find something to say. Tbh they can never do that to Anthony the guy who won ink master, he was too good of a artist.
Good makes my night
those cat were pretty bad.
the cats are terrible
I dunno, alot of times, the judges be right, tho
the cupcake was freakin dope, it looked so good
Lol so my tattoo opens up the episode
No way man😂
Which one bro
You the St. Marq tattoo?
Tell us, do they really make people stop at 6 hours or do they let them go longer if they need to finish?
I didn't think the tattoo was that horrible but I can understand why it is unreadable
Jordi got screwed his tattoo was far from being the worse
That other girl didn’t even follow the prompt of the tattoo
i’m just glad i’m not the only one that thought this..
if i had to get any of those, jessa's was the worst of the 3.
Etc.
Am I blind or is the color on the cupcake one totally fine??
How was her tattoo not in proportion? It was clearly a view from above to give it more style, like a fish eye lense
23:20 the horse's bottom hooves are entirely upside down, how the heck did no one say anything?? Not to mention its weird lumps for hind legs.
Also: looks like knockoff Woody and Bullseye
Upside down and the back legs are bent the wrong direction.
I think it was a knockoff of them. I don't think Fon even tried with thinking of a design so he slapped those two on and made up his own version of the characters.
How do you have a video of worst new school tattoos and not include the classics such as Litsa sacred heart with the magenta spikes 🤦🏼
Cause she's already in the crazy canvases comp
@@niagambino1714 yeah and people would have gotten sick of seeing her on the list. Same with those who are sick of Kito's koi fish lady in the videos.
17:30 “you do not have what it takes to be Master Chef” hahaha
I fkn hate new school tatts, but I would absolutely get one from Jimi
Same, really hate them lol just looks so whacky
I love New School. I’d love to get that style tattoo once I think of something. (Maybe a Kaiju?)
To this day I will still defend Jordy’s food tattoo. I thought it was a cool design and I instantly knew what it was.
Same. While it didn't fit color theory I thought it was a funny tattoo.
Never argue with the New School Queen that Kelly Doty is... ijs.. you listen to her and do what she says... periodt pooh!!!
Oh c'mon, that pizza was clearly a pizza. It wasn't even misunderstandable 🤣
That Statue of Liberty tattoo literally looks like The Rock
It would be *so* nice if they could take out all the cliche "Oooo all you other people better be scared coz I'm comin for ya!" " Hells yeah I want to be here, I'm here to win!" "The other artists won't know what's hit em" and just have them concentrate on their skills and elaborate on their art and aesthetic instead. Maybe, idk, even life each other up from time to time. Make it about the art instead of the contrived conflict perhaps.
As a drawer myself and wanting to be a tattoo artist i couldnt be in a room with these people, one mistake and youll never not hear about it till the day you die, its sad they hardly say “yah few mess ups what u should have done is use a liner etc”
me: wow that's a cool tattoo
judges: that is the biggest piece of dog crap I have ever seen
"Is that a surfboard..maybe it is" no it very obviously is.
i preferred St Marqs tattoo over the rest- purple and orange ARE good together..
Spyro and crash bandicoot
Agree. Alex Tatoo was whack
@@Lady-Moosh exactly what i was thinking
@@gabrielv1856 wack asl man. Alex was pretty garbage lol
Of the bottom three St Marq’s was my favorite, he shouldn’t have went home for that
I am not into new school at all but I actually thought Kevin's surfer was pretty sweet.
I was so mad that cupcake tattoo looked amazing
honestly i think jordi was robbed tbh i felt like K should’ve went home since she ain’t even do new school like it’s y dat da whole point? hittin da challenge. and jessa’s was so striped and not dat good application i think my opinion is top pick yo go home is K then jessa, jordi
Núñez just gets off shit-talking. It seems like he hates almost everything about every tattoo.
Sometimes it feels like the judges are being extremely picky for a tattoo, the pizza tattoo was perfect and if I seen it on someone I’d know that it is, doesn’t take a genius
Sometimes artists are too far up their own artist assholes that they can no longer think like us plebs who see cheese, triangle, mushroom and think "ah, pizza"
"It's really not that hard... it's a cupcake and a three blueberries."
imagine critiquing a tattoo of zombies being "anatomically correct." Its a zombie dude chill.
Is it just me or was the zombie’s hand fine?
Was the band supposed to be based on a real band i tried looking it up but nothing it kind of looked like kurt cobain
It was totally fine, it was just cartoony. Honestly the harshness of that critique, I don't even blame her for arguing back, it really came across like it was just a bias against the art style.
It was fine, I feel like Artistic Skin Design shouldn't have even been in the bottom that day, and Chris was way too harsh with the laser comment
Megan jeans adds on to whoever is most focused on when in the bottom three
For the love of God, if you're on the show, STOP LAUGHING AT PEOPLE'S FAILURES!!!!
Guarantee u the director is j like let’s get a nice shot of you smiling and they j cut it in
It's probably the editing.
It’s just the editing. Those reaction shots could’ve been cut in from anywhere
Best part of the show!
Lol at Dave … I don’t want a horse f***king a cowboy and the other I have no idea what the f*** it is…
Dave is savage
I like the girls triceratops tattoo the most. I think it's really cute.
I do too and it had a meaning behind the person too.
Chris was hating for no reason tbh. It felt like he was kinda sexist.
The momma triceratops is gorgeous , you can obviously tell what the anatomical composition is
They big trippin on that decision, color is bold and beautiful , I’d pay 💰 for that
Lol the zombies hand isn't atomically correct, it's almost like zombies are rotting people with limbs dropping and falling off
New school is already bad as it is. Now there’s a “worse” category? Yikes!
The guy boxed himself in by thinking literally about a horse riding a cowboy. It's a cartoon. I KNOW I saw a horse riding a cowboy when I was a kid (I'm an old fart now). I'm thinking Elmer Fudd had a horse on his back at one time or some cartoon like that.
the horse riding the cowboy will always be one of the lamest tattoos I've ever seen here.
it just looks like a cowboy running and a horse standing behind him
i literally googled horse riding cowboy and found better things
It was a dumb idea that became a worse tattoo 😣
@@DKF_oli I don't even think the idea is dumb lol. I think an amazing artist would draw a fuckin awesome horse riding a man haha
@@ChristelVinot why would you get that tattooed lmao, maybe I’m biased because when I was in 1st grade art class our teacher said “paint the absolute craziest thing you can possibly think of happening” and I painted a horse riding on a cowboy - so it’s like creativity level of a literal 5 year old in my opinion 😅😂
@@DKF_oli Well, the canvas wanted that. It's up to the artist to make it amazing. One's person horse on a cowboy will be lame, but another's will be mind-blowing. A great artist can make any idea awesome, no matter how "uncreative" it may seem.
I've seen a lot of episodes and compilations but this is the first time i am seeing Fon
Matt Stebly was robbbbbed that chameleon was dope.
I actually don't hate Black Spade or Boneface's tattoo. I will say though the cat being green was pretty bad. But the way the cats were outlined wasn't bad, it is just the color choices on two of the cats. Also I liked Jordi's tattoo even though it didn't fit color theory.
"There are no reference photos of horses riding cowboys in the Internet" xDDDD
I actually think all new school tattoos are bad imo
Is not my favorite style but I can also see why is so appealing to some. It's very goofy and the colors are usually bright and beautifully done.
Yeah I agree too. It looks like cartoons you would find in a coloring book
@@artisticalex1206
It’s still good art. It’s just not your style. That’s like me calling comic book art bad because I don’t like the style. Simply a matter of opinion
That horrible green statue of liberty. 🤯 And those cats!!! My god.
I really love New School tattoos, and I kind of find it funny when artists are experts in tattooing can do black and grey, and yet they can’t do colored creative characters.
2:55 I loved this one!!
24:54 meanest Dave’s ever been
And then Chris is over here channelling Simon Cowell lol
8:54 reminds me of that one The Rock pic with his eyebrow raised lmaooo
23:20 nobody noticed that the horseshoes are backwards?
YES finally someone
@@AndreiH1605 I am surprised the judges did not rip him to shreds for that.
@@Ben-Carr it was literally the first thing I noticed lol, but with all the things wrong with those tattoos...
5:18 OMG I liked St. Marq's tattoo the most, this is insane
Dave: “Today you must use your creativity as an artist.”
Artists: 👁️👄👁️🤯
Why I only heard Oliver Peck voice but never seen him on the screen 🤔
He did blackface and got fired so I think they're trying to avoid showing him
These people takes competition very unhealthy
Is it just me?? The surfer tattoo is absolutely hideous?? 💀
These artists are soooo humble... navarro always just keeps the hottest girls as long as he can. Plus, the judges pick out the minutia of every tattoo.
2:56 -> I actually loved St. Marq’s Dino tattoo!
I mean I knew that was Lincoln immediately...
i cant beleive they sent the best drawing out of the three home. obviously it is a pig being cooked over ribs with a grill at the bottom and a lid in the background. it was the best drawn out of the three. 2nd place goes to the chocolate waffle with ice cream on it that needed a background. and LAST PLACE is the most horribly drawn sunflowers with idk what and jam with a distorted lid that looks awful. HOW IN THE PHUQ YALL DIDNT SEND THE UGLY SUNFLOWERS WITH JAM HOME...
Some of these new school tats are damn good 😅 I'm not understanding the judges.
The cupcake one was fire omg what r they on😭
Jordy's tattoo honestly looked pretty fucking neat. I'd be proud to rock that especially if I'm known for doing pork slow roasted on a spit. So much dynamic personality in that little art
"Artistic Skin Design" has got to be one of the worst possible names for a tattoo shop. Just sounds so corny
I love to see St. Marq go home
“Today you’re going to face your biggest challenge yet, DOING A TATTOO
literally everyone :O
hard disagree with Saint Mark. Definitely liked that color, so idk what the judges saw. Just my opinion though.
The judging is very weird
That cat tattoo is unreal horrible lol
I knew that it was pizza, I thought it looked good
these judges just be saying shit
“ back your bags 💼 buddy “ 🤣🤣🤣😩 #Alex
I really like the guy on the surfboard
Kinda glad that they chose St. Mark, his was the weakest. Like dude, even the drawing is trash! At least the other two were colorful and popped! Like yeah, couldn't really tell that it even had a body, but I get the idea she was going for. That judge was wrong to go after her and not the other. The host of the show was correct in sending him home.
