I grew up in south Alabama near dauphin island. One day while swimming there a female dolphin started to circle around me with her baby. I was afraid she was going to attack me but she pushed her baby up to me. After she did it several times I reached out and stroked the baby. This went on for nearly an hour. The baby wasn't very old and it seemed to me she was showing me how proud she was.

Growing up in Ohio we rarely saw wild animals. Mostly Skunks, Ferrets and Owls. Since living in Hungary I see Hedgehogs all the time. I go for late night walks, 12 am to 4 am mostly in farm and wooded areas. The hedgehogs walk up to me in the city while I'm watching the stars. Sometimes they will stand there for hours with me. When I walk in the forest areas I've encountered Wild Boars, Badgers, Foxes and Elks to name a few. One time as I'm walking down this path I look down and right at my feet is a wild badger. I always talk to the animals. He scared the frap out of me. I told him, "I'm going this way." We went on our way with no problems :)
Another time I saw what looked like Man-Bear-Pig from South Park. I never could figure out what it was. It looked like a Hyena with spots like a cow, a body like a deer, mixed with a dog and a wild boar. It was so dark I couldn't make out what it was. I started barking really loud like a dog. Thank God it took off the other direction.
Another time I saw a huge boar, the size of a large Brown bear. It was crossing the road. A year later in the same area I was walking and thought I saw a farmer. It was a farming area and I was near a house. Its a dirt road with no lights. As I walked up I realized it was that Boar or Bear thing that I saw crossing the road. I slowly backed away and quickly walked back where I came from. After I got so far back I started throwing large pieces of hard mud that was on the road towards where it was standing. Not sure if I scared him away or if he just didn't want to mess with me.
Another time In a different farm area I heard what sounded like a herd of wild boar charging at me. It stopped, so I thought maybe it through I was food then realized I was a human.
I still go for my long walks. I have really strong LED flashlights. One time I saw about 3 or 4 elk. I started playing some classical music. Usually the animals would run the other way when they saw me. Not this time. They actually stood there for over an hour listening to the music with me. It was really cool. I never realized animals really do love classical music. I often wonder if they think, "WHAT IS THAT!!! Oh, its just that human that comes here for late night walks. :) I've been doing it since I was 12 back in Ohio but have continued doing it since we moved here in 2013.

I used to go for late night walks here in Australia and if you didn't know what some of the sounds were you'd be scared
brainless. In the top end here we get a lot of Salt Water Crocodiles and it always amazed me that l'd have to point out croc marks and tell them to not pitch their tents by rivers and such. A lot of area's have sign posts but some don't.

The main problem seems to be the Human sense of Entitlement, so regardless of whether the animal is just going about their business, humans step in, grab them or their babies and manhandle them. Then when they get bitten or stung etc going (what happened). What happened was you were a Nimrod who manhandled an animal you had no right to and in situations like this then animals are punished for defending themselves or their families!

Are you joking? Respect for the people who died trying to pet these animals? Have you ever tried to pet any of these animals? A dolphin in the wild can get sexually frustrated when dealing when humans and injure them, regards their mating habits they have been known to rape the females and direct inexperienced males to the older females of the group to teach them acceptable behaviour. Koalas, well it's smart to be cautious. When they're mating it sounds like someone's being killed. If you try to pet a wild koala there's a good chance you will be attacked, BC usually it's a person who has no clue how to work out when it's mating season and they may very well get a hard lesson.
Even possums can get Very Growly and yes they can attack also. Australia also has a large variety of
Venemous snakes and Large Monitor lizards which while some people may consider them cute or colourful,
I say keep your hands to yourself unless you know the animal you're dealing with. More than once at DreamWorld a theme park here in Queensland l saw tourists yanking baby kangaroos out of their mothers pouches,
How they didn't get scratched, bitten or kicked l don't know. But hey they're tourists and just wanted to pet
      them and felt entitled....SO WRONG!

13:45 - years ago I was fishing in a river and up swam a very large beaver. It stopped not 2 feet away from me. I thought it would keep going but it didn't. I started to get concerned. We just stared at each other for what seemed like eternity. I yelled at it, but was like it didn't hear me. Eventually it just moved along, but the fact it came right up to me like that was unnerving. I wasn't near a beaver dam (I couldn't even see one), it didn't have offspring around to protect or a mate, it just all of a sudden appeared. They still don't scare me but I would keep an eye out if they are around.

Try dropping your head down a little but so you can still see him and try just speaking to them in a low, slow steady voice.
It doesn't have to mean anything, just so they can hear your voice and gain confidence that you're not going to hurt them.

I remember watching a movie about the dingo attack long time ago.
There were people saying that the name of the child meant something like “sacrifice in the wilderness” or something.
I was probably 8 years old at the time so I didn’t pay much attention to the movie.

The "dingo ate my baby" story has always bothered me from the first day I heard it when I was a young child. Why would your child ever be further away than your eyesight if you're aware of dangerous animals or even other people whom you don't know at all?? Why would you ever let that kid out of your sight even if it's just sleeping? Really suspicious as far I'm concerned 😟

Most babies are cuter than a bug's ear. You forgot raccoon babies! Yes, they're cute but deadly as well. Here on my farm, babies and super destructive adult 'coons, butt-ugly opossums as well as red foxes, upon sight, get lead for supper. Bigfoot babies if I ever see any, won't be in danger from me.

    • @Kiwi_kiki15

Raccoons are carriers but in opossums it very rare .. Really and they eat 1000's of ticks each yr . Anyway if you look up opossums you'll see they can be good to have around but definitely not if they hurt your kitty's. They are not aggressive, raccoons are very aggressive.

I just want to point out something you forgot. Poison Dart Frogs are only poisous if they are eating certain bugs. Normally in Captivity their not feed these bugs. So those ones are safe. The bugs they would eat in the wild has some kind of poison and when they eat them they have that poison in their body. Tho they aren't affected by it. Which this is very helpful for these tiny guys.
