It is the only Surah that makes tear up even if someone is just normally reading it without any recitation ... very impactful story and life Yusuf (pbuh) had .
This story makes me very humble and cry every time..goosebumps...how did they manage to be strong and patient for decades!!! The patience of Yaqoob peace be upon him, becoming blind from sorrow and crying..Ya Allah, Ya Rab Forgive us...we cant stand one month of the same struggle. May Allah Almighty Forgive us.😢

This is definitely one of the best stories just as it is claimed in verse 3 of Surah Yusuf by the Quran. I watched it so many times and every time it grabs you.
Know that the moment you utter the shahada, the past will be erased from all your bad deeds, even if they were the greatest evil doers Then YOU will do good things in the future
thats true but to clarify, unless the bad deeds were against a person, for example a dept to someone you can pay. even after you are forgiven the dept. continues.

It's true. Even when someone is shaheed/jihad during a battle a debt will stop him/her from entering Jannah. That's how serious a debt is to settle between two person/personal matters.

Some scholars said that Prophet Yusuf AS was in his 30's when he was reunited back with his family. So, it's a long time and it's kinda normal that the brothers didn't recognize him at first. One thing that plays a big part in his characters was his father's upbringings. It is known in Islam that the role of father in family is a "qawwaam", which one of the translations is "the protective borders". Take a father away from any children's development, and you will get an adult with little to no ability to restrain their desires because the lack of role model. And we know that failing to restrict our desires will lead to actions that will harm ourselves in the end (dhulm/dholim). We ask Allah to protect us from such things. Surah Yusuf has tons of gems that impossible to explain just in a lecture. The constant theme brought up throughout the surah are "shabr" and "shukr". "Patience" and "gratitude". Be patient whenever difficult situations hits us, and be grateful for every good situations Allah has given to us. And this is literally the key that Allah has taught to navigate ourself through any situations in this life. And Allah SWT knows best, and He is the Best Planner. Yusuf ( a s) was so blessed his great grand father Ibrahim ( a s) was a prophet. His grand father Ishaq ( a s) was a prophet . His Father Yaqub ( a s) was a prophet and he himself was a prophet too. Never heard such a blessed prophet like Yusuf ( a s)

I have seen a TV series of 45 episodes on prophet yosuf AS you can't imagine everything was coming in my mind when they were narrating and the series was so detailed
