For getting Brutus you can get him as a low level. Just stay on the ladder if the Boss aggros and when she walks back go down the ladder and crouch. Stay that way for a few seconds to make sure she does not aggro then slowly hug the right hand wall pausing now and then to make sure you don't have aggro. Once in the right hand tunnel careful of the traps there. Just climb the left hand wall over the pen fence and hop down next to the pup and pick him up.

The cage tells you immediately what you are getting as soon as you feed the puppy. Just mouse over the result box. If you try to build ANYwhere around that first camp expect stability issues. Had a base disappear 3 times building by that vault/camp and decay timers were not the issue. I am trying to do an animal and dancer/bearer humans only strategy on Wak Siptah.
I have all of the pups except Oskar and Brutus. I'll have to grab Brutus from the Ashen Core one of these days. The Greater Dogs have the best perks in the game, hands down. The Conan team must have a lot of dog lovers. The dogs are a little fragile early on (low armor, so-so health), but once they're at 10th level or higher, they start getting really good. I feed them Abysmal Flesh while leveling (6hp/second healing, +14% Str), then switch to Savory Flesh at 20th. It's not uncommon to get 500% Strength bonus or more, and they hit like a freight train at that point.
I can confirm 100% that Oskar had the same perks when I leveled him to 20 as the one you showed onscreen - I'm pretty sure each of the others also matched up to the ones I had. As far as I can figure it, each of the dogs has a specific set of three perks and always gets the same ones (I could be wrong, but that's how it's looking) - so Brutus always gets his +45 strength, Oskar always gets his +30 Str and +15 Vit, Sigrid always wastes +35 on survival etc. Would seem to be intended (though, as always, who can be sure ;) ).
@@dlwatib Actually, it reduces the time that they are affected by debuffs; healing speed is affected by the food they are being fed. I'm well aware of the effect survival has - the (lighthearted) point I was making is that an extra 35 points in survival is generally going to have very little effect on a greater pet, because they are almost never going to be so severely effected by debuffs that it matters.
Tor and Thor are both valid pronunciations of the name. Thor is the original Old Norse pronunciation while Tor is how it is pronounced in present day Scandinavia. Tor has wolf-blood running through his veins. So he is part wolf. You have a greater chance of getting Tor if you put 13 Exquisite Meat in the animal taming pen.

My Brutus bugged out last night and kept floating backwards into a enemies and not attacking. I've also had a bunch of issues with him not teleporting to my side when I'm on horseback.
@@wak4863 only got first stat but jack of all trades 1 for all. Last night we started one and was what you originally had. Update second stat back to stop it
Also, i found the maw of the hyena cleaver on an altar at a small camp a stones throw south of Siphos Shipyard. If you are using the interactive map, there are currently 2 sword icons just East of a white skull, next to a dark corner. I think Wak covered the location in the crafter vid the other week.

After I crafted one I managed to get my feral dog to drop a couple of deer and got some finally! There's a lot of learning to do but I'm really liking the game so far.

So should you feed Brutus food for Strength to up his damage or go for health as he is leveling up from 0 to 20?

Survival isn't a total waste for pets/thralls. It makes them heal faster.

Strength isn’t a problem but I feel like Accuracy is important with dogs because they seem to miss their hits a lot.
That's not what Accuracy does. It increases the damage of range attacks (archery, spitting poison, etc.)
I'm going to pick up Brutus next time I go thrall hunting there!
Ulric the accused the named archer is the best option imo.
Tcho tcho veterans are about the only pet that competes with these dogs, I would put them on par with a tier 3 accursed fighter.

Harvest I use a cleaver to get more abysmal flesh. Not sure if wolf man is different will have to test.

It drops from gazelles etc with cleaver. Not as often as often as the other meat mind.
