All the things your telling in this video are damned right. I play bass about 40 years. But only in bands. Now i try to learn to play the instrument rightly. You play very well, so i can learn a lot looking your videos. Thanks very much. Take care and god bless.
I'm gonna practice the gallop! I'm a big fan of yours, you're a good bassist and a decent person. I'm also the proud owner of your "bassists against racists" t-shirt 😎 Go get one, bass players everywhere!
Becky, you’re brilliant and I love your youth and bass playing. A kind word of advice from a 40+ years bass player. Began at age 11. Your picking hand..Add your ring finger!! Practice doing all the things you do with two fingers, using middle and ring only. Then practice 3 note per string scales. Picking them; index, middle, ring(E-G string). Then (G-E string) ring, middle, index. In the 80’s, I was in very good metal bands, opening for Crimson Glory, Lizzy Borden, Tony McAlpine and a few others. Now I play all kinds of music. Find a way to incorporate your ring finger. You will not regret it. Also, I believe Jaco said, you don’t need to slap to be funky. Cheers!! You’re awesome!! Keep it up.
Becky is one of my favorite modern bass players. Billy uses 3 fingers not 4. I use 4. If anyone wants to use 3 or 4 it is a great technique but you need to do lots of hand and finger exercises to build up your weaker fingers. But Whatever fingers you choose to use at least you are playing the right way. Picks are for guitars not basses. :D
Rickenbacker with Seymour Duncan Rickenbacker set (higher output with more bass - makes a Rick a little closer to a P bass but still has that Rick character). She just uses the Darkglass Alpha Omega with cab sim. Not sure what cab but my guess is the 12” speaker emulation but I could be wrong!
I remember thinking rock bass is simplistic, until I started playing. It's a fantastic instrument that is getting more prominence thanks to YT. And it's great to see so many female bassists now.
For me this girl is the very best female bassist ever period!. Dear Becky God bless you take care stay safe keep going. MAGM.🇵🇷🇺🇲
Great lesson, thanks. A fantastic Rickenbacker sound too. So much punch fingerstyle.

👍 Great lesson!
She's amazing.
This lesson super helped me learn a better technique 🤟. More of these please 🙏
She gets to play with Mercyful Fate and for that I'm extremely jealous
RIP Timi Hansen

Must be difficult to break down your own techniques when they've evolved naturally. Nice lesson, cheers.
Are those DiMarzio x2n bass pickup's
The bridge pickup is Seymour Duncan Rickenbacker. The other one is most likely original.
love the video very much.

SMH...
I just realised I lead with middle finger all the time. When I do an octave the ring finger is at the bottom. If I try and flip it sounds terrible
Is that a Darkglass Alpha Omega I can hear in the OD? sound massive!
She can play!!! Plus she's hot
I want to know how she's getting that tone

She just proved Blackie Lawless wrong the base is not a tool of ignorance if it is played correctly

*bass, but yeah 🙂
Great punctuation!
@@tommybinson Simplistic only to the unimaginative ;)
Always prefer to use a light touch on the strings, and let the gear do the heavy lifting.
Good tip! 👍
@@guitarguitaruk I find that it helps to avoid fatigue, cramping, and other unwanted physical effects.
All you need is pick!... Pick!...
Pick is all you need!
God bless the pick!
Pick rapist!
