Yessss 🤘🏻
I call bullshit
no u did not 💀💀💀💀
Stop being jealous losers. He even posted a video of it playing it.
u just mad that u cant do it so chill out@@shaharbar
I bought the tablature and I have been practicing this rift for a week, the most difficult and amazing thing is the speed with which you execute all the movements.
Already my top 3 fav guitarist, much love, hope to see ya live some time!
Honestly nightfall is together with split my favourite song of yours and is definetely in my top 5. You make great music, the progressive Flamenco-metal fusion is just so unique to listen to. It always puts a genuine smile on my face, so keep it up!!!
Learned it last night! Some of the most fun I’ve had playing in a while. Really helped me understand selective picking on a new level. 🤘🤘
This is great man we need more of this keep it up much love ❤❤
This was such an amazing tutorial--thanks, Charlie! Wanted to throw a supportive comment, like, and do plan on picking up some tab packs and such from you!
Always bringing it! ❤
truly amazing and holy stuff, thank you very much!!!
I commented asking about your chords on a similar riff the other day. Dude, I had no clue you had this video. Im a progressive drummer, pro level, so this type of description and the other where short, where play a drum fill as a selective picking exercise are GOLD for someone who thinks mathematically and rhythmically like I do. Definitely buying the tab pack!!
Sick!!! Great tutorial! Thank you charlie I needed a selective pick tutorial!
🙏🏻
This rift I'll apply to my bass vocubulary. Sounds amazing!!!
Magic as always brother...
Good job
Great stuff my friend
that's great guitar lick ❤.. i need!!
For anyone wondering, it's play it drop C tuning (so everything 2 half steps lower and low E string 4 half steps lower)
i’ve finally got around to learning this riff. you liked a riff of mine a couple of months ago that was inspired by this, i can’t wait to finish the song to show you
Great advice regarding the use of the finger tips and not pads.
❤❤❤❤Bro thanks for making this video... Im gona learn this soon 😍 😍
Love your tutorials!
Thanks!
Amazing, thanks for this tutorial!
Glad to help!
Had music playing random songs and Nightfall came on and my brother and I were like damn this is good. Lol saw this video in suggestions and had no idea you had a breakdown of it 🔥💯
Oh wow. Thank you so much for doing this. I have tried to get selective picking down for quite awhile. It never sounds right. I’ll give this a shot.
So cool
i made it half through the intro before smashing that like button. Nice one Charlie!!!
Thank you!
Thank you!!!
🙏🏻
holy shit i didnt know syncatto had a youtube. thanks for the video!
Never tried selective picking but been DYING to challenge myself lately so im definitely gonna give this a shot. Such a cool song.
knew which riff it’d be before I even clicked, banger riff thank you for the tut 🙏🏻
🙏🏻
Amazing tutorial!
As for learning it... first thing next lifetime 😁😁
You got this!
Sure, right after I learn how to manually land this 747 while blindfolded.
Badass technique ngl I came here after his collab with Bernth in the song "Flow" It's so good
Seems like you were doing a little finger picking in there as well, on your final play through? Pretty amazing stuff. I'm old school, 80's 90's guy that went through the who Van Halen/Rhoads/Lynch/Ynwie/Petrucci/Vai schools. In my 50's now, and not playing a lot lie I used to. I see this stuff and want to look at it, but then tell myself I barely have time to just PLAY. LOL. Love your playing, thanks for this explanation.
Love this one
Just will never be able to play it
How does one get this tone
It's cool af, but dammnnnn it's so hard!
Could you do a tutorial on the chorus too?
I think that would be a lot closer to my current skill level :)
Make the tone shareable on quad cortex!! or a selective picking preset in general!
LETS GOOOO
🙏🏻
dude that is a great tutorial. Do you have any video about how to get a guitar tone for this style? Amp settings and what effects/pedals to use?
Thanks! Yes! Check my video on the Mateus plugin
First selective picking ama learn, maybe after seeing what notes you seem to select I can try putting selective picking into my own playing and have a good idea what might sound good😭
What are your favorite strings for drop C tuning and 25.5 scale?
Charlie, you just unlocked a new world for me lol
You got this!
i always fail to make the clean muting sound, there's a lot of tiny harmonics in my selective picking which is annoying😢how can i avoid these harmonics?
which pickup configuration are you using? it is like two inner coils? thanks mate!
Can we see your set up ?? Like how did you record your video with different mic? And what software were u using for all of this please 🙏🙏🙏 I'm making my own small studio right now 😅
Hello Charlie.. I like the music you compose both in Syncatto and in Artificial Language (I'm looking forward to new material... maybe soon?).. I'm writing to you from Mexico City.. although the prog scene is still small, there is movement here .. we would love to see you here, bands like Leprous, Caligula's Horse, Animals As Leaders, Opeth and Soen have visited this land on several occasions, however we also want new proposals... I hope you guys come soon.. Mexico City and the Progressive fans we are waiting for you with open arms!!! Please come! Greetings..
Hey man, thanks a lot. Just question; so let’s say I use a red comp in a multifx pedal. So I compress mean I put lot of sustain ? How to make such sensitive clean guitar effects?
I’ve never played with that pedal before, but if you have an attack switch on it, try and make it a fast attack, with the ratio pretty high. It will sound kinda un natural, but it works for this particular technique well!
Even using all the tips here the hammered notes are still way less defined than the picked notes and get lost in my playing. It feels and looks right rhythmically but listening back on recording it sounds like a syncopated mess :/
It might be tone problem. I'm using the Plini and can't find a tone where the hammered notes are as defined as the picked ones.
Do you give private lessons online ???
Charlie gave us the tip 🤤
Correct!
👍👍👍👍👍
🙏🏻
Same same but different
Bernth and Syncatto at :28. Almost the same riff
Mention from who you got the technique from
I did in my first tutorial 🤘🏻let me know if you have any issues trying to do this riff!
Ah yes, I definitely can
thought i had 2x speed turned on 🤯
Not today!!!
Bro just look at the camera. Make the viewer feel like they're engaging in conversation with you as they watch
Sick riff tho 🤘
Faaaaake!!!!!
Wtf is that thune it really doesnt sound as mine
