I think the “NickAR effect” has actually been really great for this community. There’s been an explosion in trophy hunting TH-camrs recently and they all copy NickAR’s style and his tendency to gravitate towards more challenging games. But the side effect of all this is that I’ve noticed a lot of newcomers have stopped coming here, platinuming like 1 game and then asking “what are some fast/easy platinums?” So they can build up quick numbers. Instead I see tons of ppl proudly pursuing games they enjoy or which offer them a challenge. I think when people watch these videos and get to see the journey through a decent game with all the ups, downs, and challenges it offers, they see how much more rewarding it is at the end to achieve something you worked hard at and in a game you loved playing. I hope this trend continues in that direction because I can’t stand this era of shovelware and auto pops and soulless trophy hunting.
I agree so much I remember when I first trophy hunted going for super easy stuff then I remembered I have other games on my account that I could play that I already have instead of buying more stuff. So I just did that.
Just to add he really changed the way trophy hunters do content you see a few copy or replicate the same style of videos that he does. And it’s because they do so well. I think he found a way to make those type of videos standout to just normal gamers. It’s a cool niche he has going for sure but ya I totally think NickAR definitely made trophy hunting more appealing to the casual gamer

I literally saw few weeks ago or something like that a post Nick made of the games he's going to platinum next and I saw trackmania turbo and I was like screw it I will finally go back after so many years and do it.... I got the plat in under the average time to plat and for a 9/10 platinum it was mostly fun for me and not even that frustrating... I had thought that platinum was impossible 😅
Big difference between Trophy Hunters and Glory Seekers. And then you have the obsessives that want all trophies no matter what the quality of the game is. Also, if you want to boost, be polite and courteous to the room otherwise you’re going to get a bad rep.
Absolutely great advice. Personally I’m not ashamed of anything on my list and I don’t hide anything because I see it as my gaming journey on PlayStation. The Rat plats and my one auto pop on my account weren’t my proudest moments but still just as much a part of my journey as my favourite plats are. Every new trophy hunter should watch this
I just platinum the games I really enjoy! I don’t care for the difficulty unless I know I wouldn’t enjoy it. Sure, some were super easy like life is strange and doki doki, but they hold a special place in my heart and that’s all that matters to me. Don’t platinum a game you don’t enjoy. Do what’s fun for YOU!
about ten years trophy hunting here and my view on autopops and easy plats/shovelware is that sometimes it's better to try these ways and then realise how pointless it actually is.
I am one of those people. Half my plats are those types of games. I had fun watching my score go up, but then I just thought "What was the point?". You could say that for trophies in general, I guess; but point is, I wasn't playing games I had fun with. Well, some easy platinums were funny little games; so I don't necessarily regret them. I went from that to just playing games (Not going for trophies or plats), now I am honestly thinking about starting a new account just so I don't have those easy plats (Save for a few I enjoyed) on it / I get to plat the games I already plated.
Really liked this one mate! For what it’s worth I think boosting/using exploits etc are completely fine, but boosting those Battlefield trophies is mental haha
Couldn't agree more with the quality over quantity. I have 7 games on my PSN account, all plat, but they're triple A exclusive titles. When I see folks with "pet the duck" in 5 regions I get the ick. I'm way more proud of my small list knowing I thoroughly enjoyed the games.
Only thing i hate is that you cant compete properly on any leaderboard anymore because its virtually like trying to verse against cheaters, you play a normal game and it takes you 2 weeks to get the plat/1000g and these people are earning 50 platinums/50k gamerscore in the same time
Yeah most leaderboards are useless, I know PocketPSN is a new site that does a point system based on rarity of the platinum which I like but it's not very popular yet.
Honestly, there is an easy way to tell if someone plats easy games......their gold trophies are really high compared to silvers / bronze. I think those easy plats are basically all gold trophies.
I like to do 5/1 plats every 5 none ultra rare I gotta do a ultra rare for me it's best way to not get burned while making actual level progress but fastest and first achievers leader leaderboards are pretty clean
I'll try and keep this as short as possible. So basically I've had my PlayStation account for over 12 years and looking back at my Trophy Collection, I basically regret buying and playing all those easy 1 minute Platinum Trophy games. My PlayStation Trophy Collection might look impressive at first having over 1000 Platinum Trophies but I've played hundreds of those easy Platinum Trophy games so it's not impressive really. Don't get me wrong I also have decent Platinum Trophies on my account as well. I just should of only of bought and played the games I wanted to buy and play, not because of easy Platinum Trophies. So because of all of this, I was thinking about creating a new PlayStation account? The only problem as I said earlier is that I have like over 12 years of time, effort and money spent on my account. So what would you guys do if you felt the same way? Would you start again? Would you just carry on with your account but just now only buy and play the games you want to buy and play? Any advice would be great.
Just carry on with the account, no point in losing all the money invested and time spent earning all the legit platinums. If you’re really that embarrassed you can hide the trophies from all the shovelware games.
@Costromo I'm not embarrassed by them. I just wished I'd had taken more pride in the games I bought and played. So if you were in my position you wouldn't create a new account? Even if all those easy Platinum Trophy games in your Trophy Collection you aren't happy with?
I've really tried to keep up my trophy hunting. But my Xbox achievements is where I've made the most progress. In the top 1000 highest gamerscore in the world leaderboard. So I do want to prioritise achievements over trophies. But I have 500+ platinums which is a decent amount I suppose.
Just found this video now and I can't agree more. One of the easiest ways I find to check the "quality" of a profile is to check the Average Rarity under the Stats tab. (not to be confused with average completion) Most people who juice their account up using shovel ware will have an average trophy rarity of 80%. Anything Below around 40% I would say is a "good" account.
Just went to true trophies and clicked on the dude at the top, then I went to see what level he was.......... 999 with the help of shovelware. I can imagine that his dopamine crashed the second he got 999. I am curious if anyone has made it to 999, or even to the 900s, without any of those easy trophies.
Sadly I doubt it. The most plats I've seen on an account without shovelware was high 500s and he was only level 700 odd, and he had been trophy hunting for 15 year.

Honestly I don't think it's possible in a lifetime without auto pops and shovelware or trophy service the majority definitely using trophaxse and ps3 jb unlockers I do shevelware in between games but I only get them on sale and I'm only level 445 but I be doing online multilayer games that take hundreds of hours saving offline trophy list for later since they're always obtainable
This speaks to my soul, i used to enjoy a good amount of hunter youtubers but all of them have turned rage bait/click bait and to be honest really mediocre content and it's honestly unfortunate even nick does this now it's like the hero has become the villain and it's very disappointing Even Ultra Rares are worthless these days with people making 20+ accounts to lower rarities and so on I see them just as bad as Shovelware these days
Yeah, I agree. Some trophies ruin the game. I hate "The Student Surpasses the Master" in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. Beating the pit in a ridiculously short time, and the clock keeps running after you've taken down the last target. I know I'll never get this one. It's a shame because I've done pretty much everything else needed for the Platinum. Just makes it a chore, not fun anymore. Good video. I enjoyed it.
Max Payne 3 also has the dreadful achievement which for me "complete the campaign without dying" was a nightmare, I'll get to that game because I like Max Payne as a game.
I would agree with that as well. The optional objective system in Assassin’s Creed kind of ruins the story because you ideally want to go for them in your first run which distracted me from the story. Especially in Brotherhood-3.
@@vurhn2009 Perfectly understandable. One of my current Platinum targets happens to be the new Call of Duty. Completed all the multiplayer/zombie stuff. Only the campaign left. Veteran difficulty has a terrible checkpoint system.
Lego games are seen as cheap plats? Some of them take 50h. And I am pretty proud of my almost complete Lego series. And I mean every stack not just every game (fuck Lego Rockband tho)
A refreshing video. I agree. Auto-pops = shovelware. Importing a save file to earn a Platinum is nothing to be proud of. I have a few very easy games on my profile. I don’t hide any trophies, I see them as a reminder to be better. I had a phase where I played easy games to get a quick fix of good feelings. But the feeling just wore down too fast. So, I stopped. Boosting is a valid method to earn trophies, we otherwise would not have been able to earn. But boosting whole games and then let the campaign be played by someone else is beyond me.
Having recently done this with God of War: Ragnarok, I agree and regret the decision. This is solely because I genuinely enjoy the game and wanted to achieve the platinum trophy through legitimate means. Now, I have no motivation to play the game from start to finish. However, with games like Hogwarts Legacy, where I ended up hating the game by the time I earned the platinum trophy, I would opt for auto-popping the trophies, and I have no regrets about that choice.
I have mixed feelings about the trophy hunting community. While I've been a longtime trophy hunter, well over a decade at this point, I didn't really start paying attention to the community until around the start of the pandemic and lock downs were happening everywhere. While it's only been a few years, it feels like the community has really changed...and not necessarily for the better. Probably the biggest issues for me being the garbage plat plague and the copy-paste template of video content. What was just a niche hobby became increasingly more exploitative and try-hardy. And just less fun to engage with overall. I feel like I must not be alone in this sentiment either considering how many of the older trophy channels have either shifted to other types of content, slowed down activity, or quit altogether. Oh well. All I can do is just continue doing what I've always been doing. Likely due to being a semi-completionist, I've almost always gone further in games than necessary so trophy hunting is just the next step of that which I still enjoy, even if it's a headache at times. I guess the only difference is that I make sure to only play games I'm legitimately interesting in first and foremost. I don't care if a plat is easy or would earn me some online cred, if I don't care for the game I won't play it. Though that then goes into another issue where my tastes in gaming is nonstandard so I play the stuff nobody cares about or has even heard of. So engagement for me has always been spotty past the general statistics. But again, that's a separate matter.
Most of the people on the top of the leader board also have multiple people "playing" them. Unless they just happen to have 2+ consoles and play multiple games at the same time.

I just started trophy hunting recently and I kinda like those $1 plats to play in between games that take 20 hours or more to complete. And I wouldn’t go out of my way to play every platform and every region. That’s ridiculous.

yup I 100% agree I only have 50 platniums but they are all very hard and I loved all of them this includes every call of duty game ( yes even Black ops 4 ) farcry games , ac games , watch dogs , last of us remasterd, wolfenstein, doom the list goes on but after I hit 50 I took a break from ps tropies and doing 100% steam achievements for a bit more fun and the community Is better
As an ex "trophy hunter" the only advice I can give is not fucking doing it , it ain't worth it and you probably ended up hating games due to fact the most developers don't give a fuck about creating interesting and engaging achievement goals.
You're not wrong. It's like developers are just finding ways to make you spend as much time as possible playing their game. I speculate it's so they can brag about how many "active players" are on so they can mislead people on a game's popularity. At least, that's the reason why I think New Game+ has now become a post launch DLC instead of a feature in the original launch.
@ex_cathedra4237 Well truth be told there is an exceptions with interesting achievements which are something more than just stupid " kill certain amount of enemies using certain weapons" but like I said this more an exception than common practice , sadly. I always think about achievements like a "tourist guide" from developers , which helps you to see all cool stuff that game has to offer , unfortunately , not developers have the same opinion.
I like to do whole series even of games I hate lol you gotta have 2-6 other games for a break and boosting games helps because you can bond over how insane the game is
Hello friend, those people you talk about sound like those who do fake accounts with ''100% completion''..they dont care about gaming nor they are interested in games...Its like the most artificial thing you can do in gaming...no matter how hard or easy trophy is point stays that if you do it you earn it and not like that guy said 'my friends gonna do campaign for me'. Its totally OK to have games where you dont have platinum at the moment. At the end of the day your natural profile is higher quality than someone with multiple times less trophies but artificially achieved 100% completion.
I have like 10 accounts that have 100% because I like to try for fastest achiever and put a bunch of accounts at first achievers it brings the account value up for when I eventually sell it I've even bought accounts myself easily over 1000 bucks for a 4 letter alone then add top 99,999 ww trophy rank and age of account that's 2k
Im very new to trophy hunting with my first Platinum coming in March 2023. I have 23 Plats thus far and im happy with all but 1. Spider-Man Miles Morales which was an Autopop PS4 to ps5. I dont know why i had done it and I was dissapointed with my choice second after it came. I told myself never again.
@@Costromo thank you. I have some long platinums on my list that im proud of, being Death Stranding Directors Cut, Cyberpunk 2077 including 100%DLC, same for The Witcher 3: Plat+100% and AC:Valhalla. All these were just about or over 100hours of gameplay so they did take some time but I loved every minute of them.
I recommend Like a Dragon 0, it has what people call masterpiece but if you're ready to suffer through the completion list and achievements I won't stop ya. Still I really think LAD0 is worth the experience and the result for those people is positive. I earn the 100% in Feb 2024 it was so good.
Me too, there's plenty of the psn leaderboard with thousands of shovelware and the people who do them only chase the shovelware platinums and I can never understand how they do it everyday just to keep on the leaderboard, these platinums aren't fun whatsoever
If I could any Piece of Advice to any new trophy hunter as someone who has started trophy Hunting since Nov of 2017. If you dont have money to buy games just don’t period. Play games you have on your account that you haven’t finished. It’s so much more rewarding doing that then dumping money on easy Platinums. My Advice if your strapped on cash just buy Essential for the year and you can play those three games they give you each month. You don’t need to go out and just buy buy buy play those games on essential because I’m telling ya some of those games on essential you won’t finish by the next month for the next 3 coming out I promise you. If you have games like rdr or gta or even Farcry games. The Average platinums you’ll get is like 20-30 a year and that’s if your lucky grinding your tail off so if you do the math I mean 3 games per month that’s 36 a year. I mean depending on the game to you’ll be lucky to even finish those. Just my thought on it tho. I get it people wanna buy certain games they like but if you are tight on cash use this approach I promise you won’t regret it 👍👍👍
I started in 09 casually then I tried doing every ps plus game every month for like a year and quit for a bit my advice for perfectionists is hide that fake back log and every 200 plus hr game lmfao and stay off of platprices
I really enjoy 100% my backlogs on Steam, if I care about leaderboards I'd be insane more to buy more games on launch before they're broken and to destroy myself and not to mention the points don't mean anything I rather show my 100% on my profile than going for leaderboards. Clearing backlogs is my way to experience more contents despite the hardest challenge. Good video there mate keep making these type of videos. I remember my first 100% was HOOK long ago in 2016 iirc because well despite playing fps I love puzzle games and it has 1 achievement. Despite low-effort 100% which are somehow free games, low-cost and low hours I don't mind doing the hardest game which are games like Hotline Miami, Like a Dragon etc My advise? Take long breaks and never hurt yourself over one hard games, take baby steps and play various backlogs. Research the game also I rather save time for me to waste them on harder achievement than missing one missable easy achievement just to play through the whole game for it.
I'm not against auto popping, but I wouldn't do it purposefully, if I have the PS5 version I'm playing on that version and nothing else, also auto popping is better used to pop certain trophies you wouldn't want to do multiple times like collectibles or combat challenges. I love going back and playing a story again so I know I would play the game again regardless of whether I auto popped trophies or not.

In my personal case, I stopped gaming in 2013 and got back in 2023, I started hunting trophy for a game that I really loved and then got caught up in the vicious cycle of hunting, I think people give too much importance to trophy hunting, trophy hunting should be a personal experience and not showing it off the most meaningless trophy list, having numbers does not make you hard platinum hunter but just a loser that do not touch grass, bro like do you imagine ? before playing a game they search up if there's auto pop or different region of the game lol quality over quantity
To me, auto-popping isn't really a problem. I wouldn't want to go through the effort of beating the same exact game on a next gen console, especially if that game is GTA 5 or something like it.
Maybe in some distant future Xbox/playstation/steam will purge the entire store of achievement games and purge the accounts of any achievements won on these shovelware games we will truly see a complete shuffle of the top leaderboard achievement hunters as none of them will be there but imagine the panic that will ensue then lol .
I would quit gaming new games since I would only enjoy actual good games and all of those are at least 10 years old I would only play Fallout New Vegas and SOCOM Confrontation forever maybe doing a Bloodborne run once a year

Don’t think I ever called it cheating, pretty sure I said it’s a low effort platinum just like shovelware games which it is. Loading a save file from your PS4 version and popping all the trophies in under a minute is hardly a well earned platinum in my books but you do you. As for boosting, again I’m pretty sure I said it in the video but if you didn’t pay attention and are confused I’ll write it out for you. I don’t like boosting and don’t like when people just go straight to boosting, but if the servers are dead or you’ve genuinely tried and need help I think it’s fine.

There's massive influx of new people coming in to the community due to how popular the videos are becoming on TH-cam and as someone who's been trophy hunting for nearly 10 years I wanted to give them some advice. I literally say in the video if you want to fill your trophy list full of shovelware and easy plats then go ahead do what you want.

Lmao....I have near 1000 games across PC and multiple consoles going back to sega master system, Amiga, N64, PS 1-3, 360, Xbox one etc....I have two or three platinum completions. Purely by accident. Never been an interest of mine, but I totally get the collector thing.

Only thing i hate is that you cant compete properly on any leaderboard anymore because its virtually like trying to verse against cheaters, you play a normal game and it takes you 2 weeks to get the plat/1000g and these people are earning 50 platinums/50k gamerscore in the same time
Yeah most leaderboards are useless, I know PocketPSN is a new site that does a point system based on rarity of the platinum which I like but it's not very popular yet.
Honestly, there is an easy way to tell if someone plats easy games......their gold trophies are really high compared to silvers / bronze.
I think those easy plats are basically all gold trophies.
I like to do 5/1 plats every 5 none ultra rare I gotta do a ultra rare for me it's best way to not get burned while making actual level progress but fastest and first achievers leader leaderboards are pretty clean
I'll try and keep this as short as possible. So basically I've had my PlayStation account for over 12 years and looking back at my Trophy Collection, I basically regret buying and playing all those easy 1 minute Platinum Trophy games. My PlayStation Trophy Collection might look impressive at first having over 1000 Platinum Trophies but I've played hundreds of those easy Platinum Trophy games so it's not impressive really. Don't get me wrong I also have decent Platinum Trophies on my account as well. I just should of only of bought and played the games I wanted to buy and play, not because of easy Platinum Trophies.
So because of all of this, I was thinking about creating a new PlayStation account? The only problem as I said earlier is that I have like over 12 years of time, effort and money spent on my account.
So what would you guys do if you felt the same way? Would you start again? Would you just carry on with your account but just now only buy and play the games you want to buy and play? Any advice would be great.
Just carry on with the account, no point in losing all the money invested and time spent earning all the legit platinums. If you’re really that embarrassed you can hide the trophies from all the shovelware games.
@Costromo I'm not embarrassed by them. I just wished I'd had taken more pride in the games I bought and played. So if you were in my position you wouldn't create a new account? Even if all those easy Platinum Trophy games in your Trophy Collection you aren't happy with?

I've really tried to keep up my trophy hunting. But my Xbox achievements is where I've made the most progress. In the top 1000 highest gamerscore in the world leaderboard. So I do want to prioritise achievements over trophies. But I have 500+ platinums which is a decent amount I suppose.
I just wish sony would delete unobtainables like Microsoft

One of the easiest ways I find to check the "quality" of a profile is to check the Average Rarity under the Stats tab. (not to be confused with average completion)
Most people who juice their account up using shovel ware will have an average trophy rarity of 80%. Anything Below around 40% I would say is a "good" account.
I've never really looked into the stats page on psnprofiles, just checked mine and I'm at 47% 😬

999 with the help of shovelware.

Sadly I doubt it. The most plats I've seen on an account without shovelware was high 500s and he was only level 700 odd, and he had been trophy hunting for 15 year.

Honestly I don't think it's possible in a lifetime without auto pops and shovelware or trophy service the majority definitely using trophaxse and ps3 jb unlockers I do shevelware in between games but I only get them on sale and I'm only level 445 but I be doing online multilayer games that take hundreds of hours saving offline trophy list for later since they're always obtainable

Yeah, I agree. Some trophies ruin the game. I hate "The Student Surpasses the Master" in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. Beating the pit in a ridiculously short time, and the clock keeps running after you've taken down the last target. I know I'll never get this one. It's a shame because I've done pretty much everything else needed for the Platinum. Just makes it a chore, not fun anymore. Good video. I enjoyed it.
Max Payne 3 also has the dreadful achievement which for me "complete the campaign without dying" was a nightmare, I'll get to that game because I like Max Payne as a game.
I would agree with that as well. The optional objective system in Assassin’s Creed kind of ruins the story because you ideally want to go for them in your first run which distracted me from the story. Especially in Brotherhood-3.
Achievement hunting made me feel a wide range of emotions, that's why I don't mind an easy achievement difficulty for my own sanity.
@@vurhn2009 Perfectly understandable. One of my current Platinum targets happens to be the new Call of Duty. Completed all the multiplayer/zombie stuff. Only the campaign left. Veteran difficulty has a terrible checkpoint system.

Lego games are seen as cheap plats? Some of them take 50h. And I am pretty proud of my almost complete Lego series. And I mean every stack not just every game (fuck Lego Rockband tho)

A refreshing video. I agree. Auto-pops = shovelware. Importing a save file to earn a Platinum is nothing to be proud of. I have a few very easy games on my profile. I don’t hide any trophies, I see them as a reminder to be better. I had a phase where I played easy games to get a quick fix of good feelings. But the feeling just wore down too fast. So, I stopped. Boosting is a valid method to earn trophies, we otherwise would not have been able to earn. But boosting whole games and then let the campaign be played by someone else is beyond me.
Having recently done this with God of War: Ragnarok, I agree and regret the decision. This is solely because I genuinely enjoy the game and wanted to achieve the platinum trophy through legitimate means. Now, I have no motivation to play the game from start to finish. However, with games like Hogwarts Legacy, where I ended up hating the game by the time I earned the platinum trophy, I would opt for auto-popping the trophies, and I have no regrets about that choice.
But I did play the game on PS4, as I didn't have a PS5 at the time.
I have mixed feelings about the trophy hunting community. While I've been a longtime trophy hunter, well over a decade at this point, I didn't really start paying attention to the community until around the start of the pandemic and lock downs were happening everywhere. While it's only been a few years, it feels like the community has really changed...and not necessarily for the better.
Probably the biggest issues for me being the garbage plat plague and the copy-paste template of video content. What was just a niche hobby became increasingly more exploitative and try-hardy. And just less fun to engage with overall. I feel like I must not be alone in this sentiment either considering how many of the older trophy channels have either shifted to other types of content, slowed down activity, or quit altogether.
Oh well. All I can do is just continue doing what I've always been doing. Likely due to being a semi-completionist, I've almost always gone further in games than necessary so trophy hunting is just the next step of that which I still enjoy, even if it's a headache at times. I guess the only difference is that I make sure to only play games I'm legitimately interesting in first and foremost. I don't care if a plat is easy or would earn me some online cred, if I don't care for the game I won't play it.
Though that then goes into another issue where my tastes in gaming is nonstandard so I play the stuff nobody cares about or has even heard of. So engagement for me has always been spotty past the general statistics. But again, that's a separate matter.
Most of the people on the top of the leader board also have multiple people "playing" them. Unless they just happen to have 2+ consoles and play multiple games at the same time.
Yeah I've seen people say they looked at the time stamps for some peoples trophies and it'd be near impossible to do solo

I just started trophy hunting recently and I kinda like those $1 plats to play in between games that take 20 hours or more to complete.

yup I 100% agree I only have 50 platniums but they are all very hard and I loved all of them this includes every call of duty game ( yes even Black ops 4 ) farcry games , ac games , watch dogs , last of us remasterd, wolfenstein, doom the list goes on but after I hit 50 I took a break from ps tropies and doing 100% steam achievements for a bit more fun and the community Is better

As an ex "trophy hunter" the only advice I can give is not fucking doing it , it ain't worth it and you probably ended up hating games due to fact the most developers don't give a fuck about creating interesting and engaging achievement goals.
You're not wrong. It's like developers are just finding ways to make you spend as much time as possible playing their game. I speculate it's so they can brag about how many "active players" are on so they can mislead people on a game's popularity. At least, that's the reason why I think New Game+ has now become a post launch DLC instead of a feature in the original launch.
@ex_cathedra4237 Well truth be told there is an exceptions with interesting achievements which are something more than just stupid " kill certain amount of enemies using certain weapons" but like I said this more an exception than common practice , sadly.
I always think about achievements like a "tourist guide" from developers , which helps you to see all cool stuff that game has to offer , unfortunately , not developers have the same opinion.
I like to do whole series even of games I hate lol you gotta have 2-6 other games for a break and boosting games helps because you can bond over how insane the game is
Hello friend, those people you talk about sound like those who do fake accounts with ''100% completion''..they dont care about gaming nor they are interested in games...Its like the most artificial thing you can do in gaming...no matter how hard or easy trophy is point stays that if you do it you earn it and not like that guy said 'my friends gonna do campaign for me'. Its totally OK to have games where you dont have platinum at the moment. At the end of the day your natural profile is higher quality than someone with multiple times less trophies but artificially achieved 100% completion.
Honestly, my dream is to have enough free time to go through all of the playstation games and attempt to plat them.
I have like 10 accounts that have 100% because I like to try for fastest achiever and put a bunch of accounts at first achievers it brings the account value up for when I eventually sell it I've even bought accounts myself easily over 1000 bucks for a 4 letter alone then add top 99,999 ww trophy rank and age of account that's 2k

Im very new to trophy hunting with my first Platinum coming in March 2023. I have 23 Plats thus far and im happy with all but 1. Spider-Man Miles Morales which was an Autopop PS4 to ps5. I dont know why i had done it and I was dissapointed with my choice second after it came. I told myself never again.

@@Costromo thank you. I have some long platinums on my list that im proud of, being Death Stranding Directors Cut, Cyberpunk 2077 including 100%DLC, same for The Witcher 3: Plat+100% and AC:Valhalla. All these were just about or over 100hours of gameplay so they did take some time but I loved every minute of them.
I recommend Like a Dragon 0, it has what people call masterpiece but if you're ready to suffer through the completion list and achievements I won't stop ya. Still I really think LAD0 is worth the experience and the result for those people is positive. I earn the 100% in Feb 2024 it was so good.

If I could any Piece of Advice to any new trophy hunter as someone who has started trophy Hunting since Nov of 2017. If you dont have money to buy games just don’t period. Play games you have on your account that you haven’t finished. It’s so much more rewarding doing that then dumping money on easy Platinums. My Advice if your strapped on cash just buy Essential for the year and you can play those three games they give you each month. You don’t need to go out and just buy buy buy play those games on essential because I’m telling ya some of those games on essential you won’t finish by the next month for the next 3 coming out I promise you. If you have games like rdr or gta or even Farcry games. The Average platinums you’ll get is like 20-30 a year and that’s if your lucky grinding your tail off so if you do the math I mean 3 games per month that’s 36 a year. I mean depending on the game to you’ll be lucky to even finish those. Just my thought on it tho. I get it people wanna buy certain games they like but if you are tight on cash use this approach I promise you won’t regret it 👍👍👍

I started in 09 casually then I tried doing every ps plus game every month for like a year and quit for a bit my advice for perfectionists is hide that fake back log and every 200 plus hr game lmfao and stay off of platprices
I really enjoy 100% my backlogs on Steam, if I care about leaderboards I'd be insane more to buy more games on launch before they're broken and to destroy myself and not to mention the points don't mean anything I rather show my 100% on my profile than going for leaderboards. Clearing backlogs is my way to experience more contents despite the hardest challenge. Good video there mate keep making these type of videos.
I remember my first 100% was HOOK long ago in 2016 iirc because well despite playing fps I love puzzle games and it has 1 achievement. Despite low-effort 100% which are somehow free games, low-cost and low hours I don't mind doing the hardest game which are games like Hotline Miami, Like a Dragon etc
My advise? Take long breaks and never hurt yourself over one hard games, take baby steps and play various backlogs. Research the game also I rather save time for me to waste them on harder achievement than missing one missable easy achievement just to play through the whole game for it.

I'm not against auto popping, but I wouldn't do it purposefully, if I have the PS5 version I'm playing on that version and nothing else, also auto popping is better used to pop certain trophies you wouldn't want to do multiple times like collectibles or combat challenges. I love going back and playing a story again so I know I would play the game again regardless of whether I auto popped trophies or not.
Yeah, doing it that way is like you plated a game when it came out, you enjoyed it, a new remaster / remake came out, and you decided to do it again.
Honestly I only care about my list and I just wanna get to level 999 in my lifetime lol sure I might go for a few fastest completion times or first achievers every now and a again only thing I think that makes other people's list look bad is one second ps3/vita platinums but glitching boosting is fine plus the trophy hunting community are pretty cool people and boosting with them is good for the community and meeting new people also them letter games are pretty fun if I could I'd do fallout NV 10 times
In my personal case, I stopped gaming in 2013 and got back in 2023, I started hunting trophy for a game that I really loved and then got caught up in the vicious cycle of hunting, I think people give too much importance to trophy hunting, trophy hunting should be a personal experience and not showing it off the most meaningless trophy list, having numbers does not make you hard platinum hunter but just a loser that do not touch grass, bro like do you imagine ? before playing a game they search up if there's auto pop or different region of the game lol quality over quantity

PS4 / PS5, or maybe even PS3, is fine, but vita is going a bit far; especially when combined with regional trophies.
To me, auto-popping isn't really a problem. I wouldn't want to go through the effort of beating the same exact game on a next gen console, especially if that game is GTA 5 or something like it.
Maybe in some distant future Xbox/playstation/steam will purge the entire store of achievement games and purge the accounts of any achievements won on these shovelware games we will truly see a complete shuffle of the top leaderboard achievement hunters as none of them will be there but imagine the panic that will ensue then lol .
I would quit gaming new games since I would only enjoy actual good games and all of those are at least 10 years old I would only play Fallout New Vegas and SOCOM Confrontation forever maybe doing a Bloodborne run once a year

Don’t think I ever called it cheating, pretty sure I said it’s a low effort platinum just like shovelware games which it is. Loading a save file from your PS4 version and popping all the trophies in under a minute is hardly a well earned platinum in my books but you do you.

I don’t like boosting and don’t like when people just go straight to boosting, but if the servers are dead or you’ve genuinely tried and need help I think it’s fine.

I made this video to try and give advice to newcomers of the community and tell them to enjoy the games they play and not compare themselves to others or focus on their number of platinum's as there's people who'll autopop and play shovelware to pad their trophy count.
You done the requirements for a platinum trophy and you want 2 as a reward? I think if you enjoyed a game enough and want the platinum again yes, you should do the trophies over again.

There's massive influx of new people coming in to the community due to how popular the videos are becoming on TH-cam and as someone who's been trophy hunting for nearly 10 years I wanted to give them some advice.

Lmao....I have near 1000 games across PC and multiple consoles going back to sega master system, Amiga, N64, PS 1-3, 360, Xbox one etc....I have two or three platinum completions. Purely by accident. Never been an interest of mine, but I totally get the collector thing.
