Right now I'd settle for two consistently good halves and carry on doing all the good things that have taken us to where we are in the league, home win for me if we do, HWTL and FTM.
Your not the only pundit suggesting Luke O'Nien play in front of the back four Wayne. Our midfield can look top drawer goung forward but is often significantly weaker on the back foot. Now that Aji Alese is back to supplement Mepham and Ballard this does seem like a good time to give LO9 an opprtunity further forward as a defensuve midfielder.
I agree David, we could have a back for with 2 big commanding centre backs. We coped well with Millwall's long ball tactics on Saturday for 93 minutes and I think having two natural defenders there could allow Luke to push and play in his more natural position.
If defence hadn't had a rush of blood to the head in extra time, we'd have won against Millwall. RLB has said he's working on game management with team which should help going forward. Jobe has been a massive miss - he needs to avoid yellow tonight so he's available Friday. O'Nien will be back in defence & Tommy Watson will probably start on LHS. Mayenda might feature later on & Connolly might be on bench as well. I'm hoping we get a win with a stronger team available.
Yes we're still in a really good position and we're lucky that nobody wants to run away with this league but we can't keep relying on other teams doing us a favour, we've drawn 4 in a row now and we need to start winning games of football, if we don't get at the very least 3 or 4 points from these next 2 then I say forget about top 2 cos we're not gonna win enough games and just try and pick up enough points to finish in the top 6, Tuesday is 100% a must win and anyone that says it isn't is either daft or doesn't want promotion IMO
I agree mate, draws are ok away of you win your home games, we have to win tonight as if we don't then lose at Sheffield United on Friday night that's us dropping down big style.
@@ThaneME2With the points we've thrown away through poor game management it's us who could have been running away with the league, just got to hope it's back to winning ways against the Baggies.
Great preview Wayne Best not to listen to people whom, quite clearly didn't see the whole game. We'll see what side he picks but apparently Cirkin is out. The Heroes 2 WBA 0 Have a great week mate All the best Tim
Hello Wayne we need a win to many draws. Sunderland 2 WBA. 1. We should have been well in front by now. Come on lads you gonna have to win. Jobe and Rigg.
My team Patterson Hume Mepham O'Nien Alese Rigg Neil Jobe Roberts Isidor Watson Subs Moore,Ballard,Hjelde,Aleksic, Aouchiche,Ba,Connolly,Mayenda, Rusyn. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ballard in for Alese with O'Nien at full back if RLB decides playing Alese 2 times in 4 days after 3 months out isn't smart. But O'Nien can not play in midfield he wasn't good enough in league 1 in that position and i definitely would be pushing Rigg on the wing just to get O'Nien in midfield. . My score predicted l can obviously see it being a draw but I going to be positive and say Sunderland 2-1 West Borm. Jobe, Isidor for us . Maja for them .
@@markacky21 personally I would like to see Mayenda out wide again cos I thought he looked really good against Millwall, don't get me wrong Watson did ok but if it was up to me I would have Roberts and Mayenda out wide and to be honest I could potentially see Onien going to LB and Ballard keeping his place cos Alese was rushed back and yeah he did have a good game apart from the goal but like u said maybe Le Bris might not want to put to much pressure on him in a short space of time
@ThaneME2 sorry I haven't got back to u sooner I just got in from college. With Mayenda I agree but the reason I went that way was because I think if he did pay a front 3 of Roberts, Mayenda and Isidor I think he would play Isidor on the left with Mayenda though the middle that sort of the reason why l went that because I don't think he'll want to play a left footer on the left but yeah I could be wrong.
3-1 Sunderland. Everyone has a right to be peed off now and again mate, it's called passion. We basically have a full squad, so let's give the Baggies a pasting. HWTL.
Absolutely spot on Wayne...we blew it at the end and hopefully we will learn from our poor game management for the next time! Don't agree with Roberts...keep him as a sub and play Mayenda. Our rock O'Nien can't be left out. I predict a comfortable 3-1 win for the lads. Mayenda scoring twice....if of course he plays!
you know how stupid that is moving Rigg out to the left just to put O'Nien in midfield come on your off your head if you think thats good idea . everybody was complaing about him playing there in league 1 that he was not good enough to play there imagine what it will be like in the league above there is a reason why every manger has played him centre back.
Sunderland are only in a good position if they take care of business on the field tonight lose against baggies and it's a crisis . Sunderland have thrown away stupid points and should be six clear at least but with some slack play they have found themselves off the top and surrounded by in form teams Boro being one, fancy 2 1 win tonight for sunderland
